This is the second time we’ve been to Patrick’s(last year then this last weekend) and had a similar experience both times. The taffy is delicious, but the girl who works there is a wet nap! Even DMV workers seem happier to be doing their jobs than she does. We’ll try another taffy store next year… We’re just not into rude people, especially when we’re spending money to support their store!

AVOID — taffy is delicious but a bit discouraging that«Patrick» doesn’t make it — it comes all the way from Salt Lake Taffy — more disturbing and this is why you should avoid this place — the woman who works there is, well, how would I put it — Taffyed out — rude is a kind work for this taffy worker — asking for a sample seemed like we were asking for her kidney — we were probably the only customers in her taffy shack in hours and she just couldn’t be bothered — taffy tasty — service — well — shit — AVOIDIFPATRICKCAN’T Provide decent service don’t put money in their pocket —

The three stars are totally for how adorable the outside of this building is! I love the pink and white stripes. Its really hard to miss and makes for great photos along the bay. Just be aware that it is super tiny on the inside. It’s hard to make it more than a few feet in if there are more than 5 people in the store. Most of the taffy is in bulk bags, but there are also some other candies available. They even have a little closet of tourist t-shirts if you’re looking for one of those.

Wonderful candy shop! Excellent selection of taffy and love the caramels! We stop in whenever we are in town to stock up.

I love this store! When I make it out to the coast, I stop here about 90% of the time to bring home sweets. I wasn’t always a big taffy fan, but Patrick’s has so many flavors to offer, so I found a few favorites: Watermelon, Mango, Pumpkin Spice, S’mores, and a few more. And it seems there is always a new one when I visit. This time around I saw they have a Chicken and Waffles flavor… What?! Strongly recommended for the taffy fiend.

Patrick’s is a standard oceanside candy shop selling many types of salt water taffy, other candies, and assorted tourist souvenirs. I finally stopped in after passing them so many times heading to the coast. Their tiny location is very convenient right on the main highway, but parking is limited. They have an impressive selection of taffy, but I cannot confirm if they actually make the candy or purchase it from another source. I am still munching on their delicious product as I write this review. If you are in the area, this is a fun stop on your journey for a sweet treat.

Tiny place, but you can’t miss it! I wouldn’t recommend going anywhere else in Bodega for salt water taffy! It’s fresh, they have A LOT of flavors, including chicken and waffles! The prices are great and the staff is super friendly. Love this place!

I guess this place gets 4 stars for being so darn small. I mean, it is very tiny. There’s no issue when you’re in there with 1 or 2 other people, but this place can fill up quickly and that really just makes it impossible to move around, especially if there’s kids inside that don’t know how to get out of other people’s way. Parking is never an issue, there’s plenty of space, and you can even park right in front of the store. Regardless of the size, I always, always, always stop here after a day at the beach so I can eat some taffy on my drive home. The taffy flavors available are just ridiculous, there is a flavor in here for everyone! Half the store is taffy and other candies while the other half is overpriced trinkets, souvenirs, and clothing. They do carry a beautifully designed«The Birds» themed sweatshirt and matching tshirt that I’ve never seen in other stores in Bodega that I’ve been eyeing. Small bags of taffy are only $ 1.50 so it’s easy to grab a bunch of different flavors to try. There are pre-mixed bags but the choices in those never look too great.

What a sweet stop on the road back home! A great variety of taffy, including flavors such as choco chip cookies, guava, pomegranate, etc. I would highly recommend the guava. They also pack them in many different sizes i.e. ¼ lb for $ 1.50 ½ lb for $ 3.00

Charming and visually street catchy with pink and white stripes. We love all the varities of taffy. Orange cream, tutti fruity, carmel flavors galore, chicken and waffles, sooo many options! It reminds me of how hard it is to pick snowcone flavors out, EXCEPT that you can get more than one! We love this place for their soft taffy. It is a must stop place when in Bodega Bay or surrounding area.

This place is every taffy lovers dream. They have every flavor you can imagine and they give taste tests! I spent way too much money on way too much taffy!

The variety is great and the taffy is delicious at this little roadside taffy shack. The only thing I didn’t like is that you can’t mix and match your taffy– you can only buy the individual flavors by the bag. Also, when we were in there, it smelled like farts. Not sure if that just happened or if it’s like that all the time, but ew. The taffy was delicious though.

Great taffy! $ 12 for 3 pounds of taffy. Lots of touristy gifts… magnets, t-shirts, shells, knick knacks. Can get very crowded but the line moves quickly. Oh, and bags are 10 cents if you NEED one.

This place is iconic for it’s tacky décor and the staff’s attitude matches it. There is one miserable soul behind the counter– a brunette with glasses who wears a scarf. Bad attitude(see the other review too). We walked out and gave our money to someone else. Taffy along the coast of Bodega Bay is not few and far between. Please go visit Second Wind, they have«candy beach» and you’re able to mix & match your taffy.

You have to buy a bag of about 20 pieces of the SAME flavor! The taffy is not an assortment that YOU get to pick. Go up the street to Candy & Kites to get assorted flavors by the pound.

This iconic place is known for its paint job, but the taffy is horrible and so is the staff. My wife asked if she could get a custom mix bag and the lady behind the counter told her no like she was scolding a dog and then rolled her eyes. My wife missed the eye roll and bought a couple of bags of taffy anyway. The taffy was so hard that I seriously thought that I chipped a tooth. Hey folks, that’s not good taffy! That’s old taffy; very old. While Patrick’s is easy to find and cutesy on the outside, I definitely recommend driving down the highway to any other taffy/candy shop.

To the tune of Pharrell’s «Happy»… ‘Cuz I got Taffy! Clap along, if you’ve got some taffy stuck in your tooth ’Cuz I got Taffy! Clap along, if you know that taffiness is the truth There’s tons of Taffy! Clap along, if you feel all the taffy flavors speak to you Go get some Taffy! Chew along, if you agree that taffy totally rules… Taffy, taffy, taffy, taffy(can’t bring me down)… ‘Cuz I got taffy…(repeat chorus) Can’t miss the pink and white striped shop off Highway 1; plus it’s right next to the awesome Gourment au Bay so if you’re parked there you can walk to Patrick’s. Inside is kinda tiny, but there are a ton of taffy flavors from which to choose. Since I didn’t have real time to peruse, I picked up a 1-lb bag for $ 5, because it was a variety pack and you have to have a minimum $ 5 purchase to use a credit card. Great stuff to have to snack on while going along Highway 1 to scout for the perfect spot for sunset pictures(we settled on Bodega Head… beautiful spot!).

I guess we can’t have a trip without stopping in to get taffy. This shop has a huge variety. The drawback is that they are all prepacked in little bags, but they are cheap. So that made it very easy to grab a bag for a friend who loves the Chili Mango versus another bag that was just a variety. Oh and they have little knick knacks… like geodes.

This is a great shop to stop at during a trip to the beach. First off, the pink and white stripes make it impossible to miss. With the two lane roads in these parts turning around is not always the easiest. So hard to miss is a big deal. Inside, the shop is tiny. The salt water taffy prices are extremely reasonable. One piece is something like 7 cents. The smallest bag which holds a couple of handfuls of taffy is only $ 1.50. What I love about Patrick’s is that you can buy mixed bags or bags of individual flavors. Watermelon, licorice, peppermint, whatever your favorite is you can go home with a whole bag of it. They are also good at carrying seasonal flavors. Today the special was eggnog. In addition to taffy Patrick’s also sells other candy and souvenirs. But the taffy is clearly, and rightly so, their focus.

***Patrick’s of Bodega Bay is a fun shop and very reasonably priced though I felt their salt water taffy was just okay*** There are two items you seem to be able find almost anywhere in Bodega Bay – kites and salt water taffy. Salt water taffy is available at many stores, but it takes center stage at Patrick’s, a small, cute and charming shop. It has a nice local feel that separates it from a lot of the touristy shops in Bodega Bay. The store is right off the major road /highway running through Bodega Bay. It is a small space and it is incredibly cozy once you step inside. The shop is lined with salt water taffy – many different flavors. The numerous buckets around the store house individual packages of salt water taffy in various sizes. You can get a single flavor in small bags(as cheap as $ 1.50) or you can opt for one of their mixed bag creations that feature several flavors(usually in a theme like dessert). Their variety of salt water taffy flavors is interesting. There are several traditional flavors(fruit, chocolate, mint, and so on), but there are also many unique flavors. There are versions of popular sweets and desserts like s’mores and blueberry muffin as well as savory options like buttered popcorn and even sweet and savory choices like maple bacon. While the variety is very interesting and the quality of the taffy is good(nicely soft), the flavors did not stand out as much as I was expecting. The buttered popcorn is pretty good and definitely reminiscent of Jelly Belly’s buttered popcorn jelly beans. The s’mores was pretty good and the blueberry muffin was interesting though I thought its sugary sweet as well as tart flavor was a little off putting. The maple bacon taffy was mostly just maple syrup salt water taffy though there is a very faint bacon flavor. There are other items in the store including a variety of packaged candy(a few local choices are available). Magnets(including a few handmade ones) and other touristy souvenirs can also be purchased here. There even seems to be a small clothing section. Service was good and friendly. I thought their salt water taffy prices were very reasonable. I looked at salt water taffy prices at other Bodega Bay shops and I thought Patrick’s offered the best prices and value. A lot of their other items can be a tad pricey like other touristy gift shops. Patrick’s is a fun little shop. I think if you are a salt water taffy fan and are in the area, it is a must visit. I was not a huge fan because the flavors I had did not feel that special. Still, there is a staggering number of salt water taffy flavors here so you might be able to find flavors that really appeal to you at Patrick’s. Patrick’s is located next to a few other shops that share a small, unmarked and free parking lot.
