The Home Depot

I had a wonderful experience in my local Home Depot store last week all due to a great employee at the Customer Service Desk. The store is 9820 Glades Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33 434. The employee’s named Victoria. She helped me with my return of plants that had died and went above and beyond her duties — even helping me get them ready for the car ride.

This Home Depot isn’t the best. We needed boards for shelving but needed them cut. Extremely hard to find help. Someone that didn’t work in that department that went to get the employee that works there. All in all we waited 10 minutes. Then we have a cart not even in the middle of the lane and employee comes pushes it towards wall and turns around giving a dirty look. lol I witnessed a customer say excuse me twice to an employee and he completely ignored him and the customer just said O-​K then. Unbelievable. There was an amazing employee there that took the time to interact with my son that’s why I gave 2 stars.

I am so tired of this place. You can never find someone to help you and when you do see that orange apron, they seem to RUN the other way. When I do finally find someone to help me there is a 50%/50% chance that they will be helpful at all.
In fact, one of the associates in Hardware didn’t know what «pliers» were. I had to show him a photo of pliers on my phone. He then asked if they were used for cutting metal. When I said «No», he brought me over to the adjustable wrenches and handed me one of those.
Also they poorly handle returned items. The good news is they accept everything back. The bad news is they never look at the item before restocking the shelf with it. I don’t know how many times I buy something and get it home, only to find out that someone put a broken version of it in the box and returned it. Not only do I not get to finish my job, I have to go back and get another one. This makes me so mad.

Place is clean, organized, and they have everything. But help from staff is always hard to find.

Maybe because I’m a woman or, maybe because I’m JUST *me*, but I’ve ALWAYS found this particular Home Depot location to be phenomenal!
From the moment I enter this establishment, I am usually met with a friendly greeting and, if I am in need of a salesperson, there’s someone readily available, even if I have to go to customer service to have someone paged to assist me promptly.
I was pleasantly surprised that they were even open because several of the other merchants were closed being that today is Easter Sunday.*NOTE*: They were open for Passover on Friday and Saturday too!
I could have waited to make my exchange of the wrong microwave lightbulb purchased at Publix on Friday night.*NOTE*: Publix was open Friday and Saturday for Passover holiday; however, closed today on Easter Sunday. (Kind of a double-standard…just sayin’).
Needless to say, I was looking to see if they had my appliance bulb in an LED so it would make for longer duration of changing out, but no such luck. Carl was very helpful in helping to obtain the right fitting and even remarked, «Most people don’t bring in the old bulb as YOU did which makes it easier to match up.»
I have two light fixtures built in under the built-​in microwave which is a feat in itself to deal with. I pride myself on being able to address items to fix or replace by myself with little or no help. Aside from having to do a little awkward upside down bending to get the fixture cover open with a Phillips (see? I KNOW my screwdrivers, LOL) to unscrew the oblong bulb
(gymnastics proved helpful in youth LOL), it was a fairly simple task. I chose to just replace the one that was out, ALWAYS following the advice from my belated grandfather, «You don’t fix what’s not broken». The salesman said with a chuckle, «Don’t blame me if you have to come back for the other one next week»!
I just smiled and told him that I practically LIVE in this shopping center!
While I was there, I took a look at the wood planks and tile that resembles wood just to compare prices as it is something I’m considering down the line. I also picked up the 3-​pack of tablets used in the washer once a month to clean out any build-​up or residue; thereby, prolonging the life of my washer! (I had a washer and dryer for 16 years before!!!)
I was able to use the self check-​out which is always a nice feature to get in and out quickly.
Hot dog cart was busy as can be in front of the store despite it being Easter Sunday. I’m celebrating Passover, so a hot dog on matzah just doesn’t «cut the mustard» LOL.. (pun intended)
As I mentioned in the beginning of my review, this location has always served me well and is nothing short of «phenomenal «!
And as Home Depot exclaims with their slogan,
«Let’s Do This»!

Our experience was fine .We don’t go to Home Depot on glades that often. Usually it’s very busy. It was busy and We needed advice. We had been treated unprofessionally at a different place before. A nice staff worker named Gregg helped us in the paint area. Sometimes good customer service is all that’s needed to brighten up our day.

Clean and I know where everything is. Staff is nice and the service desk is great. Some of the staff does not know too much, but they eventually find that one guy that does. No major complaints, good store.

I normally don’t review big corporations, but what I saw recently was comical.
I frequent this location about two or three times per week and typically am in and out quickly without any assistance from store staff. Though if you ever do need assistance? Be ready to hunt down a staff member as they are as scarce as can be.
This brings me to the point of my review… I was in recently and as I walked in I noticed there was tons of employees sporting their bright orange aprons. And when I say tons, I mean they were EVERYWHERE. Outnumbering the customers even. What’s even more surprising is that they were actually OFFERING assistance! I was asked if I needed help no less than ten separate times.
Having worked retail previously, I knew what all this signified: corporate was visiting. After confirming my suspicions with the cashier, he spoke about how management has been preparing the store for this visit for weeks. They even went as far as bringing staff from neighboring Home Depots solely for the corporate visit that day.
Is corporate that clueless that they don’t see huge spikes in staffing payroll for days that they are scheduled to visit? No exaggeration they must of had 20x their usual staff.

Stopped in here to pick up a few hardware items. The store had what I needed in stock, so that was good. Employees are adequately helpful, but I felt the cashier was acting lazy with the way I was being checked out.
Also keep in mind that parking can be challenging (especially on the weekends).

took that one back to another Home Depot and got a replacement
Before leaving the store I opened box to make sure housing fit and it did
good news short lived
after installing the replacement fixture, the bulb (which) comes with the fixture did not fit; therefore, another trip to another Home Depot to get the bulb
the bulbs, by the way are $ 10 each!
Before each trip I attempted to confirm that the item was in stock
It took so long on the phone, I could have gone and done it myself

They should hand out maps of this place telling you where to go for what you need. It would complement their lack of employees and their employees’ complete lack of knowledge. I live closer to Home Depot and unfortunately have found myself in this place without a clue more times than I would like to admit. Go to Lowes just down 441 for a very little extra customer service, which is far better than nothing (what you get at Home Depot).

I can’t give it more than that because I really don’t like these type of stores… The only times I’ve been here is to look for a specific thing my dad has seen on TV or catalog and wants as a gift but, this has happened maybe 2 or 3 times so, as you can imagine, I am not familiar with the store at all.
The other day, early morning, I had to go find «something» for a prototype we’re doing at work. Nothing specific, just looking for options to solve the problem we were having and help us finalize the project. Not knowing where to start, instead of going isle by isle, I was very thankful when Lulu greeted me and helped me identify where exactly I could find what I needed. She walked with me asking questions and trying to find other items that might help.
At the end I only found one item but, back at the office, it was exactly what we needed.
Lulu showed great customer service, she didn’t walk away until I was done looking, even escorted me to a cash register without a line and wished me good luck with my project.
Again, hardware stores are not my favorite places to go to but, when you have an experience like this one it’s not bad at all.

Store had tools all spread out not in one location. Had to ask for location. Employee looked up item found no stock informed me of stock at nearby store bu would not call to verify, assured me they had 6. STORE DID NOT, wasted my time.

there is never really anyone who can help you in this store. It is impossible to find an associate walking up and down those huge isles, most are already busy with other customers. you pretty much have to know what your looking for at this place unless you have some time to spare so you can wait for someone to become available. the good news is that i have gone to this home depot my whole life and have never had a problem finding the item i was looking for, im mostly saying that the item or items were always in stock, not to say that i didnt have to do some searching for it. but hey, it’s home depot, they have anything and everything so if your close and you need something, you can get it here

One of the worst Home Depots I’ve ever been to (and that’s saying a lot, considering I’ve been to the Cleveland Heights, OH Home Depot).
The manager of this Home Depot either knows absolutely nothing about home repair, or elects not to interview his hirees because no one here knows anything about what they sell.
Example, I asked where the clamps were. The employee I asked did not think they sold clamps! I demonstrated with my fingers what a clamp did. Still nothing. Then, I showed him the carpenter’s clamp (not exactly what I needed, but in the same section nonetheless) on the bottle of wood glue I was holding. Still no recognition! So, I left him, wandered the store, and found my beloved clamps. They were a subheading for the aisle, right under the aisle number!
Even if I could give this store zero star, I would still give it a single one because a nice employee in the garden department complimented me on my hat.
If you knew how little I know about home repair, you would realize how poor this review really is. Go to Lowe’s that is less than ½ mile away or a smaller hardware store near your home.
