Louse calls was amazing! Great service! Knowledgeable people! My daughter had head lice so we called them and they were at our house within a few hours. Needless to say we were freaking out a little. Sue, the technician, was amazing, comforting, and sweet! She treated my daughter and immediately my daughter felt so much better! She checked my whole family and thankfully no one else had it. We followed the directions she had told us to do throughout the week, and when she came for the retreat a week later, we were completely lice free! Best part is, they use essential oils blend! It is all natural! No harsh chemicals on my kids’ heads. (I have known people to go to the drug store to get the chemical shampoo that is over the counter and is so bad for you and doesn’t even work. The bugs are now resistant to the over the counter shampoos. Don’t waste your time! Louse calls is headache free!

Louse Calls is professional and very effective. I first used them about 4 years ago — after months of struggling with lice reappearing on my children. They came to my home in Merritt Island for an additional travel fee. They combed and cleared both of my children’s heads. My older daughter has very thick, curly hair, and the lady spent over 2 hours on her. Recently she got lice again and I contacted louse calls immediately. Charlotte came out and thoroughly combed through her hair, which took about 2 hours again. We had her do a follow-​up comb through a week later and she didn’t have a single louse. What a relief. Great customer service too — a prompt call back to my initial email, good info, advice, and attention to detail from Charlotte. A bit pricey but worth every penny.

Amy and her staff are incredible. They came to us the same day we called and in less than 2 hours, my whole family was lice free! Very professional and worth every penny — which was quite reasonable. I highly recommend Louse Calls!

A few years ago my daughter got lice. We did it ourselves and it prob. took about 6+ weeks to be completely done with it. The stress was intense and she had to miss school and so I missed a lot of work. And the laundry and vacuuming the furniture over and over again, omg! This time I called Sue from Louse Calls on a friend’s recommendation. She showed up promptly and after 1 visit– problem solved. I only had to take care of the house once. Yes, it was expensive but compared to what we went through last time, totally worth it. I would call them again if needed and would recommend them to others.

Not that anyone EVER wants to deal with lice, but in the event it happens to you, I highly recommend Louse Calls… Friday night 6 pm, you realize your 10 your old has lice… Called Louse Calls and they were out in a shot. Great people to deal with including Kristy who was just awesome with our family. I would love to say it would be nice to see her again, but I won’t… Highly recommend…

So, I was new to the world of lice, and I was mortified. Called Lousecalls at 10 at night on a Thursday. They didn’t answer right away, but Amy texted me immediately and someone was at my house the following afternoon.
Yup, ’twas expensive, but I paid more for them to check my head because I have a ton of hair. Lisa, who was our technician, removed all the bugs and most of the nits/​eggs. Now, I did find some nits soon after Lisa left, and Amy did ask me to take a picture, which I initially thought was tacky, but it is what it is, and I was told very clearly that I would have to retreat.
I did, and I followed the instructions to the letter, and we are completely lice free.

I have to agree with both Isabelle R. and Tessa M. My kids never had lice before and initially, it is very overwhelming, especially if you are clean freaks like my family. We spent an absolute fortune and after the fact, the family and friends I discussed this with were shocked that we spent so much money instead of treating it ourselves at home. Two weeks later, I discovered nits in my child’s hair again. I immediately contacted the company, but much to my dismay, they weren’t very helpful. Both the owner and her assistant asked me a series of questions and no matter what my response was, they found a way to discount my concerns or blame me for my daughter’s re-​infestation. They said that I should have paid them over $ 200 to return to our home to retreat us 7 – 10 days after their first visit (I did it at home using the products that they sold me).
Upon discovering that my child had lice, I notified everyone we had been around in the preceding days (how embarrassing) and my neighbors went to the Lice Clinique (their family of 5 was completely clear) and another family erred on the side of caution and treated her kids with OTC products from a drugstore. Amy, the owner, had the audacity to tell me that the Lice Clinique must not have checked the family thoroughly and the OTC products probably didn’t work for the other family, so those kids must have passed the lice back to my kids. (When I told this to my neighbor this morning, she pointed out that our kids haven’t played together in two weeks as they had been on vacation). Additionally, they requested a photo be texted of the nits I found. When I questioned how such a small thing could be seen in detail from a cell phone photo, the assistant ensured me «that they diagnose lice this way all the time.» Of course, when I sent two photos, they couldn’t see it.
On a positive note, the technician was very nice, although her arrival was delayed multiple times and we waited for her all day (I used that time to wash and vacuum EVERYTHING). Additionally, Amy sends out informative emails following the visit regarding household cleaning tips, combing, and retreating. However, in retrospect, I realize I made a costly mistake contacting this company. Yesterday, after my unsuccessful resolution with Louse Calls, I went to Tea-​n-​Sanity, a local organic tea, herb, and essential oil shop (it was closed the day I initially discovered the lice, which is why I called Louse Calls) and the owner, Eunice, made us an all natural, medicinal grade lice oil and a shampoo for $ 35.00. Eunice, who is extremely knowledgeable, was appalled when I told her that we had paid almost $ 500 to remove lice and she stated that the only way to defeat it is with a lice comb and oils, such as tea tree, rosemary, and oregano. She felt so badly after hearing about my Louse Calls experience and expense that she said she felt guilty charging me!
At any rate, get the Terminator lice comb from Ulta like Tessa M recommended and follow Isabelle R’s cleaning instructions and go from there. Definitely do not spent the hundreds of dollars that Louse Calls charges unless you are very wealthy and have plenty of money to spare (and don’t mind a re-​infestation 2 weeks out).

I do not usually pay for things I feel I can do myself. So, at first, I was not willing to spend the money on lice removal.
However, after weeks of nitpicking my kids’ hair and getting nowhere, I broke down and called. I promise that I was super diligent in nitpicking and combing out their hair, but I could not get it to go away.
I wish I would have called so much earlier! It would’ve saved so much headache of endless laundry and buying a bunch of expensive products that did not work.
Not only was the treatment worthwhile, I now feel educated on the whole process. Until Louse Calls, I only knew what I read on the internet.
Save yourself from going crazy… spend the money.

We were left underwhelmed at our experience with Louse Calls. I felt confused and dismayed.
Yes, they come to your home. Yes, they have a special nit comb (which you can find at ULTA). Yes, they are courteous, on time and pleasant. But…
Their website is incredibly misleading. I was under the impression that the LouseCalls lice inspector/​remover would remove lice by combing and hand-​pick nits. *This was not the case.* They simply put in an olive oil and mint concoction into the hair, hair conditioner and then comb in sections. There is no nit-​picking by hand. There was no magnifying glasses or lights to thoroughly inspect hair and find nits. It was just an overpriced combing session that I could have simply managed myself at home.
My child, who had a confirmed case of lice, was done with her treatment in about 30 minutes. It easily takes me over two hours to properly inspect my child’s hair and look for nits. AND I do it with a magnifying glass and l.e.d. light. After 30 minutes of my child’s treatment I heard, «I’m all done. God job, you got most everything. I found only 3 nits.» THAT cost us their full price of treatment. WTF? I was expecting at least two hours for a proper job. I was expecting the magnifying headset you see in the photo on the website.
The most discouraging part was, the very next day I found a nit square in the middle of my child’s head. The day after that I found a nit hatching in the hair. I’m still combing and having to treat my child.
This was a complete let down.
PLEASE, ask up front about their method and be prepared to be pulling nits yourself. If I trusted them and didn’t look for nits afterwards, my child would be in the midst of another lice life-​cycle.
I have reached out to Louse Calls for feedback. I am hoping there will be some resolution to my let down of their service so I don’t feel robbed.

So glad we called and used their services. Yes, you can probably do the treatment yourself. It will take alot of time, alot of patiences and give you lots of stress!!! Maybe the job you do will be good enough to get rid of the problem… and then again maybe it won’t!!!

We are very pleased with Louse Calls!
After discovering nits and lice in my 9-​year-​old daughter’s hair over the summer, I did alot of research online and chose to self-​treat using a reliable, doctor-​recommended brand from the drug store. I treated all five members of the family and washed and cleaned everything in the house. It took hours and hours… It was messy, exhausting and overwhelming.
When we discovered a louse on her head one evening two months later, my stomach lurched and I thought «Oh, no… not again!». I dreaded the thought of going through all that again. I called LouseCalls right away & Amy got back to us immediately. One of her trained technicians came out to our house first thing the next morning. Leya was wonderful. She treated our daughter’s VERY LONG hair thoroughly, yet gently… my daughter never complained and sat and read her Kindle through the whole treatment. While Leya worked, she educated me on the bugs, treatment, technique, the life cycle of the pest, etc. She explained what items around the house needed to be cleaned, and explained how to do it and why. She documented everything, and provided a letter for the school nurse. We purchased their special nit comb (the ones that come with the drugstore treatments ARE useless) and she explained what we would need to do for the next 7 – 10 days to work to remain bug free. She gave me her cell phone number and said she would be available ANYTIME if we needed to contact her with any questions. We received follow-​up emails throughout the week, reminding us to recomb, and then finally to retreat for good measure. They could come out to retreat if we wanted them to, or we could retreat using products they approved. Since Leya had taken the time to teach me how to work through my daughters long hair, this task was SO MUCH EASIER than when I attempted to do it earlier in the summer. It’s all in the technique… and that nit comb. Leya also gave us pointers on preventative measures and we are more diligent about head lice now. Thanks to Leya and LouseCalls, we are now nit and lice free!

Our daughter came back from a one month vacation with a head full of nits and bugs. I spent a full day of applying a treatment I bought from Walmart and combing through my daughters hair with the HORRIBLE comb provided in a box of Nix. After hours of work, I was at my wits end and decided to search our area to see if someone provided a service to help me with getting this gross infestation out of my daughters hair.
We found the website and submitted our number for a callback. The owner of the company called me back about 30 minutes later and we spoke about the problem. Due to time constraints, my family was going to be traveling over the next week and a half, but Amy (the owner) assured me that she had a technician who could meet us wherever we were going to be. We set up an appointment for two days later in the hotel we had previously booked. Vacation uninterrupted!
On the scheduled day, our technician, Bibi, arrived and proceeded to do head checks on us and treat my daughter. She was well mannered, very friendly, and an all around NICE woman. My daughters infestation was so bad that Bibi had to do several «go-​overs» of my daughters hair, all the while explaining things to me and educating us on Louse infestations. She was extremely good at what she did, and her technique was flawless. When she was finished, I was offered to purchase some of the products they use to treat and prevent infestations. She proceeded to comb through my daughters hair showing me that MOST, if not ALL, of the nits and bugs were gone from my baby girls scalp and hair. We slept very soundly that night, I promise!
THE COMB IS THE KEY, PEOPLE. This is a little miracle with teeth. Well, the comb and the technique, of course (which I will NOT give away :-)). LouseCalls uses a comb that you just can’t find in any package or store around. Trust me… I had bought several from Walgreens and Walmart and they were all worthless.
We scheduled a follow-​up visit for one week later, and again, Bibi came to our hotel (as we were still on vacation). She did a thorough check of my daughters hair and we got the all clear that we were LOUSE FREE!
I’ve read these other reviews here and no were does it state on the website or in conversation with the owner that these fine folks at LouseCalls will come to your home and clean it for you. There is some work involved on the parents part, but that is to be expected. I was required to comb through my daughters hair 3 times over the course of the week before retreatment, but that was nothing since Bibi had already done all the work. I did buy a comb and a bottle of preventative, bringing my total to $ 268 for 1 treatment/+retreat, and 2 head checks.
I would HIGHLY recommend LouseCalls to anyone who would need this service.
