Juan and Carlos treat my teenage daughter like a princess. She has gotten 3 or 4 Keratin treatments here. They look great and are long lasting. The new salon is large and comfortable and there is plenty of parking. Probably the best value in Boca

The owner added more highlights within three days after lightening my hair and doing a keratin. He did admit he screwed up yet He only refunded part of it while I have to go home and live with short fried hair. I asked not to cut my long hair he cut it anyways. You decide whether to risk it. Lost my long hair and fried my hair period.

Horrible not only the product but the service. Same story here I purchases a $ 200 voucher and he charged me more. Please go some where else.

Horrible place. Avoid it if you can. There are plenty of options and some businesses that use groupon are actually honest with their advertising.

Vee did an incredible job with my hair. I had the keratin treatment.
She was so focused on my needs and answered any questions I had. My hair turned out amazing and I am so happy.

If I could give negative stars I would. I only wish I had read the reviews on here BEFORE I bought 2 groupon one for myself and one for my daughter. My daughter’s keratin was done by a lovely woman and came out fine. Mine is another story… my hair, 8 hours later was still SOAKED from the excessive product they put in my hair. Their solution to this: go home and wash your hair. Really? They were unable to get my hair dry in the salon and now it is a curly kinky mess.
I should also note that Juan appeared to be unable to calm himself and twitched throughout the application. He also would continually raise the chair with rapid jerky movements only to quickly release it (there was no reason for the raising of it). He kept adding more and more product and saying over and over again how he was going to have to charge me more each time he added product. He probably used enough for four or five heads. The woman at front who I believe is owners wife couldn’t believe that they just couldn’t get my hair to dry. Her response was «well we won’t charge you for the extra product «. They charged me extra for my daughter’s so all in all we spent $ 250. It is now a week later and even using sulfate free shampoo made for keratin treated hair, hers seems to be not treated. Definitely did not use quality products.
This is a joke that the sign outside and the business name they use for groupon is «keratin experts»…furthest thing from it. Should have known something was wrong when there was only one other customer in there on a Saturday during the entire 3 hours we were there.
Do yourself a favor and don’t walk, RUN from this place! I have learned that salons offering groupon for keratin are not up to par. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Michael gave me the best keratin and blowout ever (and I’ve had many).

I called in advanced and asked if they were able to due a Keratin Treatment on Kinky hair, they told me «yes.» What they DIDN’T tell me that there was an up-​charge even after using the groupon. I arrived and they hair tech. who was nice told me that the treatment advertised in the groupon is not the same that I need to use for my hair and told me it would cost me more. After negotiating b/​c he’s paid off of tips, we were able to set a price of $ 100. I was so disappointed b/​c not only was this a bait & switch AND the treatment didn’t take. They wasted my time and money. If you have kinky or afro-​hair DON’T come here, it’s not for you!

What a terrible experience! As many other people that went to this salon, I had the worst experience ever. after I purchased a keratin treatment at KeratinXperts from Living Social, I called and Juan gave me an appointment. he told me to come the following day and I was surprised that the salon wasn’t busy. When I got there a «person» named Carlos ordered me to put a robe on. When I finished he ordered me again with a disrespectful tone to sit down. after that Carlos looked at my roots and told me that I needed a color treatment. I told him I would do it myself later. With a visible nasty attitude, he told me that I had to pay $ 60 extra. when I asked why he said that my hair is too long (it is actually not even past my shoulders and I wasn’t charged before in any other salon with the same hair length). I told him that the voucher didn’t say anything about extra fees (not even in the fine print). He gave me a dirty look and told me that I don’t want to pay, I’d better leave. I said I would have no problem paying if the voucher said that extra fees would apply. Because I continued arguing that there was no place that said that I had to pay extracharge, he got mad and demanded me to leave or he was going to call the police on me! When I said that I already paid all that I was supposed to, he told me to fix the problem with Living Social. Before I left, I crossed out my voucher code from the registration form and in the comments I wrote «Worst Experience». After reading this he took the form, crossed it out and began insulting me with crude Latin expressions. He even said that the only reason I went there was because it was cheap and that I was below him because I couldn’t pay an extra fee. A confused women that was there looked at me and asked what was going on. As I tried to explain the situation to her, Carlos said that I was forbidden to talk to his clients. Once I left I called Living Social and after apologizing they said that I wasn’t the first time that they received a complaint because of Carlos. In fact, they already had 36 returns of this voucher. I can’t believe what happened. Carlos was rude and unfriendly from the second I walked in, knowing that I had a voucher. Be aware of this place and I hope no one goes through the same experience as me.

Oh WOW! Where to start!!! I had such high hopes for this salon since I live within walking distance and was looking for a new full-​service salon — but I made the HUGE mistake of reading the Unilocal reviews AFTER I purchased the Groupon. And boy were the other Unilocalers spot on! I hope I save one other person from experiencing this place.
To start, there are 2 different Groupons currently for the same place — for the same service. One is $ 83 and gives you a $ 160 value and the other is $ 89 and gives you a $ 200 value. I get Keratin done regularly, so I know that my hair costs $ 200 at normal price — so I chose to purchase the more expensive one for the $ 200 value.
When I called and made the appointment (before I read the reviews), the lady that answered the phone was very nice. When I informed her I was going to be using Groupon and had the $ 89 one — she laughed and told me it was more like a coupon than for an actual service. I thought that was strange — but figured that was maybe just her wording.
So — as I always do I looked at the Unilocal reviews last night so I would know what to expect and I got very, VERY concerned. But hey, I needed it done and I’m very experienced with this service, so I was confident that my shoulder blade length hair was not going to have this extra «upcharge» that the other Unilocalers were complaining about. After all — I purposely purchased the more expensive one to avoid this. As we sat down, he immediately commented that I had recently had highlights and a cut done. There was an obvious look of disappointment on his face. But I still rolled with it. I have a 2 year old — so I have tremendous patience. No more was said so we walked back to put an apron on. After I had it on, he told me it was going to cost $ 40 more for my «long-​hair». I asked «Why?» I told him I always pay around $ 200 for this service — actually the better, longer lasting service, but not the point. This was the value of the Groupon. He told me I should have read the fine print. I did read the fine print. It’s ridiculous — and allows him to be unethical. It’s standard language, but I have NEVER been upcharged if I use a coupon for Keratin. But THANKS TO OTHER UnilocalERS, I was already aware of his unethical practice. Ironically I had $ 40 in my pocket for his cash tip (20% of $ 200) — which I briefly considered giving him — in lieu of a tip. But my conscience would never let me do that — so I had to walk out instead. I always buy at least $ 50 of product too. And I couldn’t bear the thought of giving him $ for that too.
I see what others are talking about regarding his attitude — but I have worked with many types of people and it really didn’t bother me. He did smile and wave hello when I walked in. I really thought it was going to go well. So disappointed and angry. This is Boca and salons are everywhere. I would rather pay $ 200 for a non-​discount than go someplace that is unethical.

Do not EVER go here expecting them to honor a Groupon deal (a common complaint if you read the other reviews). While Michael did a fine job cutting my girlfriend’s hair and offering a few add ons at a fair price the man she assumed to be the manager did not want to honor the groupon or quoted prices when it came time to check out. After showing him the groupon stated these services were covered for the price the manager grudgingly conceded but then went on to almost triple Michael’s original quote that they had agreed on for additional services. Questionable if not illegal business practices will stop her from going back. Find another place to go.

Absolutely the worst experience.
I had purchased keratin treatments and happily used them in a salon in Atlanta prior to my move to south Florida. I was never told my hair was too long for the price before and this time Carlos, who talks to you with a nasty attitude as soon as he finds out you are there for the keratin treatment you purchased on living social, told me that my hair was too long and he needed to charge me an extra $ 60. He has no manners at all and is very disrespectful talking to the clients. I told him it wasn’t my first time getting this done and I had never heard such a thing before. I get a trim every 2 – 3 months and my hair barely passes my shoulders, it doesn’t even fall close to my chest. I said I wasn’t going to pay an extra $ 60 as I paid $ 80 for the deal itself!!!
I said maybe we can meet in the middle, I could pay an extra $ 30, considering I had driven 45 minutes to get there and I really wanted to get the treatment done that day. He was absolutely rude, walked away from the chair and told me I could take the robe off. I told him I was going to complain to living social and write a review, he could care less.
No business ethics whatsoever… Shame on living social for still working with him after all the complaints.

I had a living social deal a few months back & Juan did my keratin. Very happy. On my way back for 2^nd treatment.

No never again unless you are into attitude, snobbery, having your ear and neck burned during processing, the co-​owner Carlos trying to jack up the price. I don’t think so.
Bought a Living Social or was it a Groupon. Carlos was a rude man.

I left from this place very disappointed with the way they tried to run his place.
If you bought the voucher from any discounted place as Groupon or Living Social, thinking that you got a good deal… be ready to pay extra $$ when you get there.
I called one day ahead to set up an appointment for next day and after traveled about 1h, between dealing with traffic and finding a parking space, was really a challenge (parking is very limit and the only option will be at the street for 2h, after that, you will get a ticket, as I saw many people getting). Once I got there, Carlos was kind of sarcastic and not much friendly and asked me to sit down and take my necklace and earrings off. He tried to offer me some other hair dos like cutting and coloring, but I told that at that moment I just wanted to do the Keratin, once he realized that he wasn’t making any extra money from me, he said that my hair was long and he had to charge me $ 60 extra. I couldn’t believe! I told him that in the voucher didn’t have anything mentioning about extra charge, and this wasn’t a nice way to do business (my hair is really not that long). He should tell me over the phone when I called him and not wait for next day after driving 1 hour to let me know. This is a very nasty way to run a business. He does this with every single one of us, because people pay! I had to leave and he didn’t even apologize or tried to make a customer happy in any way. If that is the way his business and his Keratin is going to be offered and advertised on big companies like Groupon and Living Social, something got be done. You just don’t offer an affordable price online to attract customers and play on people asking for more in person and expect people to pay. ****Be Aware***

Carlos was condescending and dismissive of my requests. His derision was palpable from the moment I explained what I wanted (the same blunt-​cut style I came in but trimmed.) On the phone I had been specific that I wanted Keratin only on the crown of the head where the hair frizzles. But once I was on the chair, he insisted that it was not possible and he must do the whole head, which would flatten my otherwise full hair. Also, when I called for an appointment, I asked for the price – and the breakdown, which he gave in a joking manner, as if this was a funny question – but when it came time to pay, Carlos billed me for more and claimed that this had been his quoted price over the phone.
As for the haircut, he would not listen to what I wanted, and when I explained that I had been wearing that style for years, he said, «that’s so sad.» While ultimately his cut was good, it was his creation, not what I wanted, and much shorter than I had asked for.
Single-​color process, cut, keratin and blow on short hair cost over $ 200 and then, in his intimidating manner, he asked outright for a tip.
I must say that I am not a chattering customer who pours out my life story to a hairdresser. I read a magazine instead. I am polite and pleasant, but not assume «a relationship» as one hairdresser once complained. What I consider a business/​service exchange disappoints some hairdressers. But Carlos was unfriendly from the moment I walked in. He had a sour expression. He ordered me around from the chair to the wash basin etc.
This salon experience left me feeling intimidated and degraded by someone who had no idea who I was, what’s my lifestyle or occupation, (I am a very successful and quite known in some circles,) but he acted superior.

Carlos is amazing. Very professional. My hair looks great! Will definitely go back. I found this place accidentally boy did I luck out.

I always wanted to try Keratin. I found this place was running a daily deal and decided to give them a try.
The stylist who worked with me was Juan. I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am with what he did with my hair. The whole process took just under two hours for my hair. After doing the keratin treatment he dried my hair and went through it with a flat iron.
The final step was trim. I told Juan how much I was comfortable with him cutting off. He listened to me and did a great job. Before I left he also gave me instructions on what to do after the treatment.
I would absolutely recommend this place!
