Bought a groupon since the menu looked promising. I was blown away — the red cabbage was the best I’ve had since my 5th and most recent trip to Germany in 2013. Veal schnitzel was generous and well prepared. My grandparents loved the $ 5 wine. This is the real deal German. As good as the main dishes are, it’s the side dishes that we were raving about: the spaetzle, German potato salad, and red cabbage. The cappuccinos were decent as well, though the swimming-pool sized mug is a bit overwhelming after a Teutonic feast.

After being in Germany 2x, I have been looking around for an authentic German restaurant here in palm beach county. I am so glad to have found gretl’s bistro as they serve Germany’s popular dishes and great selection of beer too! Had their sauerbraten and paulaner Munich lager and finished it of with their apple strudel! Will definitely keep coming back here! For those who are looking for German fix and or curious about what German food is like, Gretl’s bistro is the place to be.

Awesome little place in South Florida! It’s the only place where you’re going to get authentic German cousine THISGOOD. Family owned and operated, this place is great! I had the Chicken Geschnetzeltes(not sure if I spelled that right) and it was delicious. I couldn’t put my fork down. Prosit!

Excellent and a very authentic! Good German beer, nice/cozy atmosphere and good service. My husband had Schnitzel Wiener and I ordered the Sauerbraten, both were cooked perfectly well, even the spatzle dumplings were tasty. We also tried a cherry and apple strudel and both were equally delicious.

Discovered this delightful restaurant via groupon… enjoyed the food very much. My wife and I shared her three sausages and my Jäger schnitzel our sides were classic sauerkraut, red cabbage and cold German potato salad. Very good indeed. As luck would have it, we came during their early dining deal(between 4−6p) discounted beers AND dessert(strudel) & coffee included w meal… I was packed. I’ve eaten in Frankfurt before and this place could easily be teleported there and the locals would never know it was crazy Yanks preparing the meals. It is small inside and lacks ambience but the ladies do sport the Dirndl for that authentic flare(something I’ve been encouraging my wife to wear when she makes schnitzel at home, but I digress)…we have tried other german places in Fort Lauderdale and if German cuisine is what you like(or want to try) than definitely give it shot as the new kid on the block. We’ll be bringing our snowbird parents for their evaluation as they are also Schnitzel/red cabbage/spatzel fan themselves.

Searched for a German restaurant on Bing and found Gretl’s, which showed pretty rave reviews. After eating there I have to say the reviews were justified. When we first arrived I wasn’t sure it was open because there was hardly anyone there but after about 30 minutes I realized we had good timing because it filled up super fast. It was happy hour and I took advantage of their extensive beer selection with $ 2 off of their drafts. We had the Cheese Spätzle for an appetizer, and Wiener Schnitzel and Pork Schnitzel Weiner Art. Then they brought complimentary strudel for dessert. Everything was delicious and the servings were big enough for me to have it again for lunch today. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to go back and sample the rest of the menu, a definite«do over» for us!

Great place. Very good atmosphere. Attention is awesome. Food is very interesting, some plates are delicious others are more of an acquire taste. But you can tell by the quality and presentation of the food that what you are paying for is more than worth it. Only thing is got there a little late and they did not have chocolate cheese strudel left. It sounds like a very interesting dessert. Overall great place, decent price range, generous portions, good attention and awesome food. Will definitely come back

Definitely a place to comeback to. The paprika chicken and goulash were delicious. The sides– spaetzle and red cabbage were also great. My Gf had never had German food and as picky as she is, she would even come back. This place is worth a try.

Excellent and authentic! I ordered the goulash and pork schnitzel carry out for my German in laws. I couldn’t help but to sample both when I delivered the dinners. Both dishes were fantastic. The spätzle were the dumpling style and not noodles which I typically prefer. That said, their spätzle dumplings were the best I’ve had. Check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

We wanted to try authentic German food and really enjoyed our whole experience here. The staff was very friendly and had a good sense of humor with me as I tried to pronounce the name of the dishes. We loved the potato soup, pretzel, and the bread & dip. We will be back for sure.

Yum Yum Yum is all I can say! I bought a Groupon for Gretl’s and my fiancé and I enjoyed a lovely lunch! I had the chicken schnitzel with red cabbage and spatzle! They gave so much, and it was fresh and authentic! They even speak German, too! Highly recommended.

Went there the other day and the food was amazing. We ordered the cheese spätzle appetizer, schnitzel and the 3 sausages for main course and the Keisermarren for dessert. The place filled up pretty fast and for the right reason. Food and service was great, the waiter was very knowledgeable and kindly put up with all of our questions. Only thing is things became a bit hectic when the place was full(which is a good problem for a restaurant to have). The dessert was amazing and I am pretty sure I will be ordering that to go any time I am within 10 mile radius from that place. Will definitely be back!

This restaurant is amazing! I have eaten here a couple of times with my boyfriend(who loves german food!) and the food is exquisite, the service is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Oh, and the homemade strudel(chocolate and cheese) is yummy, yum, yum! Everything is made with love and has that delicious home made flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves not only authentic German food but, good food in general. I can hardly wait for my next meal at Gretl’s!

Ich möchte ein neues Deutsch /Oesterreich Restaurant vorstellen. Gretl’s Bistro in 2399 N Federal Hwy in Boca Raton. Ausgezeichnete Deutsche /Oesterreichische Küche, Wienerschnitzel, Spätzle, Sauerbraten und eine auswahl von Draft Beer. Sehr gute Küche sehr zu empfehlen.
