Boca Raton Resort, The Waldorf Astoria Collection

Beautiful property on the outside. Logistical nightmare when you look beyond the surface.
This resort is huge and in a great location if you love boating, beaches, and golf. It is huge so it can accommodate meetings for very large groups. But that same asset makes it a logistical nightmare as a guest. Most events are in the main resort. If you happen to be in the bungalows or the beach resort you can expect a 15 – 20 minute commute back to your room — each way!!! So to go back and brush your teeth, change clothes, or freshen up you will need a 30 – 40 minute window each time. The shuttles are not reliable and the consoles that track the shuttles at each pickup spot were frequently not functioning. Even if you are in the main resort, expect to do a LOT of walking. So if you are attending a typical conference that St arts at 8 – 8:30 and has 15 min breaks between sessions all day until 5 pm, you should pack for the day cause you will not have time to get back to your room at any point without missing an event. Very frustrating — I was here two years ago for a conference and have just returned and the problem seems even worse!
As far as the hotel staff, they arevery good, and the food and shops are excellent. Overall the rooms are very pricey given the wide variation in quality. Bungalows are spacious and gorgeous, but extremely inconvenient in their location. Beach resort rooms are very nice too, but are also a pain in the butt if you are attending meetings in the main resort. The rooms in the main resort are the most conveniently located for most meetings, but these rooms vary widely in quality.
Overall it is a beautiful resort that is about 3 – 4 extra shuttle buses away from being a really great experience (they also need to either upgrade or discount some of the poorer quality rooms). This resort has all the potential to provide a truly world class experience if someone just took the time to address these few simple things.

This resort is classy and fun. There’s so much space for different activities, including a Wave Machine! They have beautiful trees and plants on the hotel grounds as well.

I stay here a few times a year, and had a fantastic stay over Christmas. I normally stay in Yacht Club Rooms, but decided to stay in a Cloister Room this trip. The recently renovated Cloister rooms are very nice, although much smaller than the Yacht Club Rooms.
At Christmas-​time, it can be hard to find a chair by the pool, but Chad at the Tower Pool was very helpful on multiple occasions.
Will continue to stay here.

These guys had the best customer service team that I’ve ever seen assembled. Plus they have a shuttle that takes you to their magnificent private beach. I loved this place!

So far, so good. Customer service is GREAT from the minute we were greeted when we got off our cab, to the front desk lady that checked us in to the bellman Julian who helped us moved from our initial room to a much preferred room.
Julian went out of his way to even get us ice for our room, suggest restaurants, settle down our suitcases where it should be. Very professional, helpful and friendly.
This hotel is HUGE!!! With more than 2,000 rooms I believe and great restaurant choices within the facility!
For In room service food is ok and it’s definitely not cheap but they’re really have very efficient staff!

First I’d like to mention I was here on business but wow did this place blow me away.
The hotel is beautiful, and the design is fantastic. Location speaks volumes on this experience, its in a residential area but really does take the guest to a escape from the city. I did not get to enjoy the beach resort but I went anyway and the view was breathtaking. Unfortunately my images got erased but if I return soon I will take more. The beach is gorgeous here.

Was here recently. Great location. Awesome amenities. Good food. Prices are a little high, but you pay for quality. This place is all about quality.

One of the most relaxing days I’ve had in a really long time. I didn’t stay at the resort, but had the opportunity to enjoy it as a guest. Spent most of my time sipping on frozen mango mojitos by the pool. Also took a walk along the beautiful oceanfront. A great escape for anyone. Delicious food, calm atmosphere and beautiful scenery.

I recently stayed here for a business trip and it is a beautiful resort. It’s huge and you can easily get lost in this huge place. That said, the ambience was beautiful — well lit, clean, and fragrant (has that addictive spa smell everywhere). It definitely is an older traditional resort (rich old white feel).
The hotel room itself was beautiful — the bathroom is bigger than my bedroom at home. Loved the toiletries and overall style of the place. Free wifi (included in the good olé «resort fee») and access to the gym. I loved the fitness room, which was huge (and empty). The customer service was very good, but everything is very pricey. That said, there are several restaurant options on the resort, and some of them excellent (Morimoto sushi, etc.). Unfortunately, I didn’t get to explore or experience the water shuttle, beach, pool, or anything else, so can’t speak on that.

I didn’t stay at this hotel, however, recently attended a private party in the banquet room area. We were situated in the Amalfi Terrace area, which is located right off The Yacht Club and adjacent to the marina. Overall the venue was quite nice and the staff, from the servers to the bartenders, were very friendly. The overall hotel was beautiful, but be prepared to pay a heft $ 20 valet charge even if you aren’t spending the night here.

Beautiful hotel, but be warned nothing is complimentary. If you drive here you will have to pay $ 37 a day valet. A bottle of water in your room is 12oz and $ 6.
My biggest complaint is the noise level. The room doors are not nouse reducing at all. You can hear all the way down the hall.
The staff has not delivered any request without a 2^nd call downstairs. This is the biggest tourist trap and most expensive.
Edit:asked for extra shampoo and conditioner and got so much of it. Added another star.

Take it from a local this is definitely the best place to stay if you are visiting Boca Raton.

The Boca Raton Resort & Club opened on February 6, 1926 and was originally designed by California-​born architect, Addison Mizner and this style spread all across Palm beach county.
Arthur Vining Davis, whose brainchild was the Arvida Corporation had been responsible for modernizing the hotel. Opening the Boca Raton Club Tower in 1969, the building is still considerably taller than any other building in southern Palm Beach County. In addition, its famous «Boca pink» color has made it more famous than its stature of 300 feet (ninety-​one meters) and twenty-​seven floors and is commonly referred to as the «pink hotel». Lots of locals like to try to copy the shade of Boca Pink to use for their homes or businesses.
Currently, the club is part of Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts by the Hilton Hotels Corporation so yes, you can get some perks if you are a Hilton Honors member.

The biggest reason for a 4 star review here is the quality of the service and food they deliver for a business conference. Impeccable service — no question. Best I’ve seen in years. The food (think high volume conference format) was very good to outstanding.
The property itself is nice but a bit less than you expect in a 5-​star luxury property. The setting itself is worthy of the west palm lifestyle — think big yachts, water and pink walls.

Just spent a weekend here on a tail end of a business trip for a stockholders meeting nearby and glad I took the side trip here. Even though just 2 days, great relaxing time and left with most of the worries gone. Finally did the golf course with a walk on party and it was immaculate to go to. Best part to me was just the cabana and falling asleep in the mid day sun totally relaxed and no EBDITA margin figures running through my head.

The hotel: Beautiful, clean, very large, friendly staff, exquisite art work all over the property. The room I had was large and had a gigantic private balcony with a table and chairs and lounge chairs. It had an ocean view and was gorgeous. They have a bus service that transports you to various parts of the hotel and it’s properties.
The restaurants: They all had great food. They are on the expensive side which was expected. One restaurant (I believe it was called BLUE) faces the ocean with probably 180 degree windows– it’s a beautiful view. My only complaint is that they hadn’t updated their menu online. I went there specifically to try their swordfish which they no longer offered and the cobia they served instead was slightly fishy and bland. I was disappointed. They should really update their menus.
The spa: I had two massages while I was here. Both were good. I also had a sugar scrub and mud body treatment. I didn’t like the mud treatment it didn’t make my skin any softer and you have to shower in the room with the therapist there it was just awkward. However the spa it’s self is just ok. It’s decorated nicely but the women that work there are constantly bothering you. You don’t have a minute alone without them suggesting you go into the sauna, suggesting water, pouring water after you said no thank you, practically pushing you into the sauna, pushing you into the pool area, watching you go to your locker etc. It drove me nuts! There was no where to hide. I also don’t like the waiting area that’s shared by both men and women. They also have you walk up a large staircase to get to your treatment room, I didn’t see an elevator but I assume they have one somewhere for handicapped clients.

The Waldorf is an «institution» aren’t we led to believe? They are doing a lot right but being this is my first stay here to be real, its a 3 – 4 star place at a 5 star price. I don’t care about the $ as much as the service. The valet system they use is just a mess. Add the price of valet into my room and just bring me my car. Such a pain. The lobby bar is bartended by pathetic bartenders. They have no system of how to serve who or when and noone in the place knows the menu. I asked which Balvenies’ (scotch) the bar had and acted like I was a burden, he was clueless. At $ 25 a glass can I get a menu or at least a knowledgeable bartender? Another issue was the food in the restaurant late night. Lackluster… Less these issues the Waldorf gets 5 stars.

A group of my friends and family recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Boca Resort, «5-​Star?» for the long Labor Day holiday weekend. There was a large group of us; 12 rooms rented in total. There were so many problems I am not sure where to begin. The problems were at both the Boca Resort as well as Boca Beach Club.
For starters, the first day we were repeatedly harassed and bullied in the cabana we rented with no validity and no explanation at the Boca Beach Club.
That evening at dinner at 501 east, there were 30 guests and my daughters dinner was first «dropped on the floor», next was served raw, then burnt and then restarted for the 4^th time and finally served while everyone was finishing dessert.
Next, my room was never attended to. No housekeeping came the entire three days I was there. No clean towels, no clean bathrooms, no trash emptied. Even after room service was delivered and collected IN the room and notice was on the door to please service room.
An hour and a half wait for room service consisting of three kids meals.
And the icing on the cake was upon check out and our car is delivered from valet with a plastic dirty chair in the backseat which apparently was owned by valet. The clipboard also belonging to valet was in the front passenger seat… All with no explanation? The only logic I can put together is valet out riding around in our car and «forgot» to collect their belongings upon returning.
All of this after a previous stay had already encountered issues and promises were made that we would have an amazing experience. Not only did I have these experiences, but a 2-​week old car was hit in valet and denied until proven on security cameras, hot water was missing from rooms and just the overall service was horrendous to other members of our party as well.
I am only giving the rating one star because you have to and the only justification is the location and views. This is supposed to be a five star Waldorf Astoria Resort Hotel… These things should NOT happen.
Stay elsewhere.

I’ve been looking forward to this for months as my husband is here for a conference. We actually live nearby. So far the claims do not live up to the hype or expense. The valet did not assist me until I started unloading my own bags. My room was not ready, the front desk lady was able to rattle off a million possible activities and amenities but had no Real info on how or where I could sign up for them. I really wanted a spa treatment but she had no info either. Just they had an amazing one. When I asked for a pamphlet she was confused.
I asked where I could change for the pool/​beach she just said locker rooms as if I knew where I could find them. After an awkward walk and asking several employees I found the locker room and a pool bar.
After an awkward shave that was originally planned to do in my room without an attendant watching I was changed out of my jeans and heels into my swim suit. At the pool I had gdifficulty finding a place to sit because I couldn’t figure out what chair was taken or left behind. Then I got nailed by a massive flying umbrella. Another patron helped me get cleaned up. Nobody checked on me. When I notified my server he did ask immediately if I was ok. I was hoping I’d get a free drink but nope.
Now I’m wishing I could be clean or napping I my room because I only have 24 hours to be toddler free and I never get either of these things. So now I ultimately wish I had stayed home.

My wife and I stayed here this past weekend for our good friends’ wedding and I have to say I was incredibly disappointed with this resort. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous with so many options for activities. That being said, the staff at this resort is absolutely horrible from the moment you check in. There is just a general pompous vibe in the air coming from every employee starting with the front desk. They are incredibly discourteous and unfriendly upon check in and don’t make any effort to show a personality or act in a welcoming manner even slightly. For the prices this place charges per night, the least they could do is provide moderate customer service. I am pretty confused as to why you would feel compelled to act pompous working at the front desk of a hotel or in guest services anyway, it’s not exactly rocket science.
Upon arrival in to one of the tiniest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. I noticed a huge water stain on the ceiling that had mold around it. The bathroom was also a disaster as the sink was broken and the toilet would not stop running after you flushed it. The bathroom was barely big enough to fit one person and you couldn’t even do your thing in there unless the door was closed because you’re sacrificing valuable square footage at that point. We had to then call down to the front and insist on being moved to another room.
When we booked the reservation we put in the request to have a refrigerator in our room separate from the mini bar one. Of course, that was not in the room when we got there so I called down to request it again and got a robot-​like voice saying «We will check with housekeeping». Almost an hour goes by with no update so I call down again and am connecting with the same robot voice repeating the exact same phrase with zero customer service effort once again. I then had to insist on an update as to when this would be brought to my room. Unreal!
Keep in mind that they are charging insanely high rates here for these tiny rooms. We had a wedding block rate which was still $ 250 per night and there is only one option for parking and that is valet so that’s an extra $ 30 per day. Also, they will tack on sneaky resort fees and taxes upon check out.
There are a ton of hotels in Boca Raton that will gladly take your money and provide the kind of experience that is memorable in a positive way so I highly suggest you search elsewhere when considering staying at this resort.

My husband and I stayed at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in December 2014 and we were so impressed with this resort!
There are five different accommodations on the resort depending on your preference:
The Yacht Club — Luxury guest rooms and suites that are reminiscent of a grand Venetian palace. Rooms overlook the marina, Intracoastal waterway, and ocean. Guests staying in the Yacht Club have exclusive, complimentary access to Waldorf Astoria’s Spa tranquil adults-​only pool.
The Tower — 27 floors of modern guest rooms and suites. The Tower is centrally located next to The Cloisters. Room views include the intracoastal water, golf course, or gardens.
Boca Bungalows — Luxury one-​bedroom and two-​bedroom apartments that are on a secluded location near the golf course. Complimentary shuttle service leaves every 15 minutes to take guests to the restaurants and activities throughout the resort.
Beach Club — These modern, beachfront rooms and suites are on a private peninsula. Ocean view and pool view rooms are available. The Beach Club is the furthest property from the resort and can be accessed by car, shuttle or boat.
The Cloisters — These charming Spanish-​Mediterranean style guest rooms and suites were built in 1926. Many of the rooms were renovated in 2014, but the renovation is not complete. The negative reviews seem to all be for the older rooms so if you book a room at The Cloisters be sure to book a newly renovated room instead of a traditional room.
My husband and I stayed at the Yacht Club and we absolutely loved our room!!! This spacious 600 sq. ft. room included a canopied king size bed dressed in the most luxurious Italian linens and a separate sitting parlor with a sofa, chairs, and desk area. Our room overlooked the marina and ocean. The bathroom was covered in marble and included double sinks, a deep soaking bath tub, and a separate glass shower. Our room was located on the main resort so we were conveniently located only a short walk from the lobby, marina, restaurants, spa and health club. Everyone on the property was so nice to us and I never felt like anyone was snooty.
TIP: My husband and I are Hilton HHonors Gold status members so we received additional complimentary perks such as bottled water, drink tickets for the pool bar, an in-​room movie, free WIFI, and late check-​out (subject to availability). I highly recommend joining the Hilton HHonors because the points and perks add up quickly!
