Big Kahuna Tattoo and Piercing

A friend of mine went in there today for a simple but unique tattoo done by EV Talesman and it came out great. It was of a dove (Holy Spirit) and it looks fantastic. He would recommend anybody looking for great work to that place, especially a tattoo from her. Great work and heard it’s a great shop in a great location.

I had my ears pierced as a teen at one of those cheap accessory stores in the mall, and one of them never healed right. I decided I wanted to have it re-​pierced by a professional, and after reading the online reviews, I decided to try Big Kahuna. Jeremiah did my piercing and I was very happy with the overall experience. He was very nice and helpful, and the process was quick and almost painless. Everyone who I talked to there seemed friendly and welcoming. The only downside is that it’s cash only, so come prepared.

Can’t say enough good things about Big Kahuna! I’ve been going there for the past 5 years to get pierced by Jeremiah and would never go anywhere else. He is the best– very knowledgeable and gentle. I’ve gotten quite a few piercings from him, most recently my industrial, and all have healed great. Great atmosphere in the shop, always super clean and all the artists are very friendly and make you feel welcome.

Jeremiah (sic?) has been taking care of my piercings for over 8 years ! Two times he’s healed me from bad piercings done by others. I came in on Tuesday after not seeing him for a few months and didn’t realize he doesn’t work that day. I wanted to get my lower navel pierced and let one of the tattoo artists do it even though I was there for Jeremiah.
Even the tattoo artist, a woman, I forget her name did a fantastic job. I came back a few days later to do my ears and Jeremiah was there and did 5 piercings all at once with almost no pain. It’s been about a week and both my belly button and my ears are healing fabulously with little to no care at all.
Jeremiah is the best that’s for sure. He is who I would write a review for. I’m rating big kahunas 5 stars because even the darn tattoo artist did an amazing job with my belly button.
It’s clear that everyone in there knows what their doing. With piercings I would trust Jeremiah with my life! With tattoos, I would trust his opinion on who I should go to.
This place deserves a hell of a thumbs up. It’s even in a great location.

GREAT ATMOSPHERE! I came in for my first tattoo in 2010 and I have been going back ever since. Jason H AND Jason M are both amaZing artists. Jeremiah is great as well, hes pierced me a few times and ive never had any issue.
Besides doing quality work these guys will keep you laughing. My 4:30hr long piece felt like 15 minutes listening to them joke around. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

I went in to get a nose piercing, and as soon as I walked in I was greeted and told them what I wanted. Jeremiah calmed me down and very patient with me. The experience was quick and not at all painful. Overall amazing. I would go back!

Awesome shop artists are super friendly. They make you feel comfortable. Went in to get a tattoo artist gave me a better version of the original idea I had and can’t say anything else other than I’m super happy with the outcome.

Went in there last month to have a tattoo done with Shane. I wouldn’t have been happier with the quality of his work, the cleanliness of the shop and the experience in general.

This place is awesome! After the artist took a look at my design, they advised that I NOT do it. We went over the design and I went back twice with revisions until the artist gave the ok. I found this very impressive as I had gone to a couple of other places that just said «sure, I’ll do this for you» Obviously the artists at Kahuna take much more pride in their work and aren’t just after your money! Everyone there was very nice and helpful, and exhibited a professionalism that you just don’t see anywhere anymore. I am very very happy with me new tattoo!

Today I had my first tattoo by Jason Holley :)
A great experience, super talented person, friendly and gentle. He did a great job! Ofher artist also appeared extremely talented, with great music in the background.
Highly recommend to anyone interested.

Stopped in to Big Kahuna last night after leaving Mizner Park as I was in the mood to get a couple tattoos that I’ve been wanting. After hearing great things on Big Kahuna, reading Unilocal reviews, and being disappointed that the competitors shops never seem to be open or overly friendly, I stopped in.
It was about 9-​ish last night and two others were getting tattooed in there. I was right off the bat comfortable with the shop as everyone was super friendly, greeted us at the door, and were more than willing to hash through ideas and draw up what I wanted without acting like it was an inconvenience… they were very accommodating.
After going through ideas and agreeing on the placement, I ended up getting two tattoos last night and they look great. My tattoo artist was friendly throughout the process and I have nothing but good things to say about Big Kahuna.
If you are around the area and looking to get inked up, I’d recommend Big Kahuna. Prices were very reasonable as well. I will post pics once it heals up.

While in town on business I decided there would be no better time then the present to get my 6^th tattoo and I have been wanting one on the top of my foot for a while now. After doing some research and talking to people in Boca I decided to give Big Kahuna a try. SO GLAD I DID! I emailed them what I wanted and when I wanted it done. They invited me to come in and meet with Jason. When I went in, I could immediately tell it was a a good atmosphere, lots of laughs and genuine people. There were three other people getting tattoos there, and one peircing. Even though they are in the middle of remodeling, its stil clean and organized. PLUS I don’t think I have seen soo much cleaning and sanitation of equipment since I worked at the hospital, which was immediately comforting. Jason was FANTASTIC! He let me know up front that the vision I had for my tattoo would not turn out like I thought and was simply not a good idea! Not what I wanted to hear, but I TRULY appreciated his honesty. So with a litlle modification to the original plan, I was able to achieve a tattoo better than the one I envisioned in the first place. Jason was very professional and caring, constantly asking me if I was doing ok and did not seem to mind when I sqirmed a bit (IT HURT :) LOL). He was careful to explain aftercare instructions to me and make sure I understood before I left the shop. The ATM on site is a nice bonus and no outrageous fee to use it. They were a little pricier then what I have experienced on the west coast, but so is EVERYTHING ELSE in BOCA! I would HIGHLY recommend Jason to anyone and if I am back in Boca when its time for more tattoos, he can definitely count on a call from me! THANK YOU JASON and BIG KAHUNA…
Only complaint… location is difficult to find if you do not live here or visit a lot.

I really hate to burst your bubble guys. I am from Boston where some of the best custom tattoo shops are located. However, I made the grave mistake of going into the BK while on vacation with my family. My tattoo, an anchor-​cover up was a Valentines Day gift from my hubby. I lived in Boca for 2 years while attending FAU, and I read the 5 star Unilocal reviews. I went in for a consultation with Jason M. And later that week went in for a «feminine anchor.» It was horrible, amateurish, generic, thick lines, all black (I agreed on black and grey, but it looked like a blob). I didn’t say a thing, just left afterward. Needless to say I went home and went directly to Fat Rams Pumpkin Tattoo where I should have gone in the first place. They are fixing it, and warned me about Florida tattoo shops where there is often little accountability. Live and learn. Oh, and for the girl who said this shop was clean— girlfriend, go to Boston you can eat off of the floor at Pumpkin Tattoo. For professionalism – eating a sub in front of customers. Gross. BTW. This was my second tatt in 10 years so my shop experience was next to nil. Just want to warn naïve folks like myself! I have a large black tatt on my body that I am now paying more money to get color put on. Might take a few more times. Not a feminine anchor.

This is the best tattoo shop I have been to in FL. The artists are all very professional, artistic, and very helpful. No matter which artist you choose, you will be in very good hands. The piercer is very professional too. You can trust this place to take care of you. I highly recommend getting your tattoo or piercing at Big Kahuna Tattoo!
