Sue’s Best Burgers in Town was a good choice for lunch on Wednesday while in Blue Ridge. The cheeseburger was a belly buster… we could have split one & been full. Cold slaw I would skip on next visit to Sue’s!!! Coconut cake looked so delicious until you put it in your mouth… I found it to be very dry & could have used a glass of milk to wash it down… oh well, should skip deserts to loose a few pounds anyway… I was punished for ordering cake!!! I really want to like this place, but I can’t. My Bride and I stopped in for a burger and fries while in town. It was $ 10+ for a mediocre burger platter and a couple of tap waters… The elderly lady who helped us was indifferent to my questions about the specials and didn’t seem even care if I ordered anything at all. We decided to split a cheeseburger with Swiss instead of American. The Swiss remained neutral as is their custom and never made an appearance on the burger. :-(Gotta find humor where you can. Cecilia said«I think that was ‘Sue’ who took our order. I said«No way the owner would act like that.» My Bride was right. :-( Overall, the burger wasn’t frozen or pre-formed. It had a nice dear to it, but there was very little burger taste to it. Te Swiss cheese may have helped, but we’ll never know. The few fries in a $ 10 platter were okay, but the coleslaw was inedible. I love Mom and Pop places and appreciate the Prayer Board, etc. Maybe the desserts are the better choice here; I don’t know and am likely not to go be them a shot due to the attitude.

Simply the best burger you will ever eat. Superb onion rings. I would drive well out of the way to eat at this humble yet terrific restaurant.

Loved Sue’s Café!! I had an avocado burger and my boyfriend had a mushroom burger. Both were delicious! The burgers were so big we probably could have split one. For two burgers, one order of tots, a sweet tea and a water it was about $ 20. They do not accept debit or credit cards, BUT they do have an ATM available. Great local business :)

Inflation hits everything, so now this is the best burger under $ 6 I’ve had! It seems bigger than before however. All the way with tots is an excellent meal. I’ve had some great burgers – hamburger King, hamburger heaven, holeman&finch, vickies lunch van, smith&wollensky, etc. and Sue’s is still in my top five.

It’s called Sue’s Best Burger in Town for a reason. Each one prepared to order and the fries are great. This isn’t Micky D’s, so you might have to wait a few minutes and the meals can be more than you expect when you first walk in the door. But when you walk out, you know you you will be back.

This place has really gone down hill. Either using a lower grade of beef… possible frozen… or simply different cooks that don’t know how to cook a burger like Sue’s is(or was) known for. Burgers very dry with no flavor, and fries much greasier than they use to be. Well overpriced for the quality of food you now receive. And did I mention the wait on a recent(non-holiday) weekend was an hour after ordering to receive our food. We are now searching for a new burger joint… won’t be wasting any more money or time at Sue’s. Sad, because this was our favorite for nine years…

This is my favorite burger place in Blue Ridge. Good fries too, nice and thick. It takes awhile to prepare the food, so don’t come here expecting fast food. But some things are worth waiting for. I come here about once a week to get my burger fix.

The name is a little misleading… def not an actual ice cream shop. They had 5 flavors and no cones… :-(

To all the moronic wannabe food critics out there that can’t wait 15 – 20 minutes for their meal, please go to McDonalds. Wake up! This is not a fast food restaurant. It’s a down-home place that has been doing things the way they want to do them for a long time. I owned a restaurant that served a $ 12 burger that was not as good as the $ 4.39 one they sell. It’s big and tasty, as well as the fries or onion rings. They cook the food right in front of you, so there are no angry teenagers spitting on your food when you aren’t looking. I saw a complaint about the size of the burger. That’s nonsense, My wife and I SPLIT a burger and fries when we go. And Jeez, stop whining about not being able to use your credit card. This is not the only place in the world that takes only cash. And be thankful that there are still places like this on the planet. Get a grip! And stop by Sue’s. I don’t know the owners or anyone affiliated with Sue’s.

Past by numerous times and heard a radio add on the local station so I was chomping at the bit. So wanted to give the this place a better review. First off, cash only. Not a good thing nowadays. Second the décor was pretty basic. There were coin candy machines filled with candy covered up in a corner as well as one of those fake fireplaces turned backwards against the wall, evidently non functioning. Ordered the Mountain Burger as when I heard the description it sounded fantastic. It wasn’t until after the order did I notice it was $ 9 so this was going to be a great burger. Also ordered the $ 2 order of fries. We got our food after about a 20 minute wait. I was impressed with the size if the burger. Not so with the paltry amount of fries. Bit in to the burger and the best thing to say was the taste was below average. As others have said, there was absolutely no seasoning added to the meat. My party of 3 left full but unimpressed, especially after forking out $ 40. My wife used the restroom and was disgusted by the smell of urine as well as what appeared to be the same on the seat. We frequent Blue Ridge quite a bit and unfortunately will never visit Sue’s again.

Been waiting 30 mins and still no food, seriously. Plus they don’t take credit card so I already paid cash. Don’t go here!!! Update! After 40 mins we got our order and it’s wrong and there is hair in the fries!!!

Been by this place several times and really wanted a good burger. The sign outside says this is the best burger place in town. As others have stated, the appearance of the burger was very appealing and was cooked fresh. Couldn’t wait to take my first bite, but a big big disappointment. As fresh as it looked and smelled, there was no flavor. Doesn’t appear that they use any seasoning on the beef when cooking. Ate about half of it and trashed the remaining half. Decided to give them another chance today but instead ordered a typical southern hotdog(chili, slaw, onion). Another big disappointment. The hotdog came out on a bun smothered with all the toppings. Sorry, but you should be able to pickup the dog and eat it without it falling apart. Couldn’t even pick it up before it fell apart. Had to eat it with a knife and fork(not good). The chili had no flavor and also had beans.(southern chili has no beans). Dont think I’ll be stopping there again unfortunately

Stopped by for lunch while on vacations in the mountains with the family. Had the cheese burger and fries. It was big and juicy! I wish I had saved room for the homemade fudges and cakes for dessert. FYI– no kids meals and it is cash only.

Sue’s serves up large, delicious hamburgers and a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. The regular cheeseburgers are perfectly grilled, and the mountain burger is one of the best hamburgers I have ever had. The French fries were just ok, as were the tater babies(potato wedges), but the tater tots were delicious. We also ate two slices of Sue’s homemade cakes — toasted coconut and German chocolate. Both were tasty. The subpar sides and long wait time(over 30 minutes for our six burgers) make this a four star instead of five. This is a definite stop for us in Blue Ridge, but don’t eat at a late lunch here unless you want to skip supper!

First, I am not a huge hamburger fan. But if it is good, I can appreciate the love for them. These hamburger are quite large including bun, burger, onions and tomatoes. I ordered mine as is, and it was quite delicious. I managed to eat the entire burger. :). The fries, well, I was hoping for those types of fries you sometimes are lucky enough to get at bowling allies. You know, the crinkle cut fries that have that lightly crispy crust wrapped around perfect creaminess inside. This was not the case for me. Crinkle cut, yes, but limp, dry and mealy in the middle. :( I loved the board with prayer requests and insightful sayings, so it saddens me I am unable to give them higher than 3 stars. The reason for a lower rating: The staff did not have a friendly, welcoming attitude. The cooks wiped their hands on their pants. And when I took my little boy to their one-for-all restroom, I regretted entering the moment I entered. I had to wipe the area clean so my boy would not come home with any unwelcome pests/illnesses/soil. The waste basket was overflowing and the soap had a few drops left — THANKGOODNESS! Perhaps they were understaffed, being the day after Christmas, so I will cut them some slack, I feel horrible that my experience did not match others.

We were out and about in Downtown Blue Ridge, and had heard great things about Sue’s hamburgers. Other reviews have laid out some of the pros and cons here, and we found that for the most part, it was as advertised. The burgers themselves are large, so come hungry. They have a few that are unique(deep fried, mountain burger with a fried onion ring), as well as hot dogs and assorted deep fried offerings. I enjoyed the burger, but it didn’t really stand out over standard fair you might find in a Five Guys or other burger joints. Seeing as there are no real other burger joints in town, this place offers up a good option. As for the negatives, it can be a slow process from start to finish. They cook them to order, and if the place is busy, be prepared to wait at least 15 – 20 minutes for your burger. The fried are crinkle cut, but nothing overly different than your average fry. Toppings here are plentiful though, and fresh, which is a great plus to not have to worry about getting a tiny bit of onion, or some little sliver of a tomato. One other unique thing about this place, they have some very interesting, nostalgic gumball machines all over the restaurant. I found one that gives you a plastic egg that I had not seen since my childhood over 25 years ago. It was kind of neat, and added to the charm of the restaurant.

Man, this place is a true institution. I was on a North Georgia BBQ reconnaissance trip recently(yes, that’s a thing), and saw Sue’s, proclaiming to have non-other than the best hamburger in town. Had to pull over immediately and investigate. Here’s what I found: 1. They indeed do have the best burger in town, probably in all of North Georgia. 2. They don’t take them there fancy debit/credit cards that city folk carry. Cash only. 3. Prepare to wait, it’s worth it. They cook all the burgers the grill can handle in batches and one of the main cooks is also the cashier. If your burger ain’t in that batch, it’s going to be a minute. 4. Try wearing overalls for faster service. Thanks Sue, really good burger!

The burgers are really good, and it took less than 15 minutes for me and my daughter to get our order. We shared a banana spilt, but they didn’t have any bananas.
