Solid 4 stars for what this is: a small convenience store in the tiny village of Blue Diamond where cyclists, residents, and passers-by can grab a drink, snack, and local gossip. The bathroom is clean, the people are friendly, and there is plenty of space to park your bike. One cool feature on the veranda is the little bookshelf with an eclectic variety of books to read while you enjoy your snack or drink outside. Don’t forget to dispose of your trash in the appropriate receptacles; there is a dedicated recycling bin next to the«regular» garbage bin.

If you need a pit stop in Blue Diamond, this is the place for you. A favorite of cyclists and probably hikers, Village Market is the only place you can stop for water, Gatorade, snacks, etc. on Rte 159 before you get to Hwy 160(Blue Diamond Road). It’s about 12 miles from the Albertsons at W. Charleston and Desert Foothills, where many cyclists park, to Blue Diamond, so it’s a popular turn-around spot. We often stop here to use the bathroom(clean), fill up our bottles, and buy some cookies or a popsicle on hot days. They even have free ice, which is very much appreciated when you’re sweating like a piggy. If you’re lucky, you’ll see a bunch of burros who hang out at the park nearby.

Being a LV native, I have been coming out here for years. Been parking near this store to start my mtn. bike rides(also for years). After a ride I go and grab a beer or two or three. Last time I did this a grab a(1) beer and they tried to charge me the price for a 6-pack, there reasoning is that«you are destroying a 6-pack so we might as well charge you for the whole thing», so needless to say I laughed and walked out. So now instead of me and my friends buying beer in a local store, we just bring a cooler of good beer and enjoy the nice village after a ride.

Local Blue Diamond flavor. Food, gas, beer, and the Sheriff’s office rolled into one.
