There aren’t that many independent bookstores left in the area, so we have to make due with what we can get. Fortunately, Cloak & Dragon is a pretty good little store. The staff is very friendly and helpful; they have a nice selection of both popular and special interest books, including a healthy local author selection; plenty of chair, couches, and tables to relax, read, and chat over; and a well-stocked food and drink center. Their coffees and teas are freshly made and there are some locally made candies and baked goods available. They sell more than just novels: stuffed animals, gaming supplies, boots, and other odds and ends. I would like to see their stock of merchandise expand, but overall I was pleased with the store.

This is a great place in Downtown Bloomsburg to relax. They don’t have a HUGE selection of books, but offer a variety of interests. We frequent this spot to have book club meetings. They also have delicious(and affordable) chai latte, coffee, hot chocolate, and a variety of sodas.

I went there today because it was the only bookstore in Bloomsburg listed on Unilocal(or anywhere else) and I was desperate for something to do while my husband was at an all-day meeting in Danville — but Cloak & Dragon had to be the most depressing bookstore I’ve ever visited. I’m being charitable when I say the selection was pitiful… the woman working there(I don’t know whether she’s the owner) was o.k.(neither real friendly nor unfriendly), but I literally just spent about two minutes in there and knew that was all the time it was worth.
