History

Established in 2014.

Star-Crossed Stitches was established in January 2014 after several years of hands on experience learning from my aunt who is an avid seamstress, quilter, and embroiderer. She was my first inspiration in my early teens when I witnessed her hand quilting a quilt for her sister that she had pieced and sewn. I went right home and proceeded to cut fabric (with scissors mind you!) and make a quilt. I did not even know that you were supposed to make blocks first! Fast forward 30 years after raising 2 sons, and I reacquainted myself with her after my mother told me that she did machine embroidery and was still quilting up a storm! Now 8 years later I am in business for myself, creating and finishing quilts and embroidering for clients of all ages and backgrounds! I love being able to be a part in helping to bring someones ideas to fulfillment with fabric and stitches!

Meet the Business Owner

Richelle R.

Business Owner

I have been seriously sewing since 2006 and love creating new and innovative quilting and embroidery designs for clients of all ages and backgrounds. I fell in love with machine embroidery when I spied the embroidery machines and their samples at the sewing shop where I took my little sewing machine in to have them show me how to work the decorative stitches. I was mesmerized and could not stop thinking about how I was going to manage to get one for myself. I went on ebay and managed to snag a small one for less than 300 $. I was elated and could not stop embroidering. My mother informed me that my aunt had an embroidery machine and I started going on visits to my aunts with my mom and other aunt. We had such wonderful times on those visits and I learned so much from my aunt. During those times, I was reintroduced to quilting, the proper way!

I fell in love with machine quilting and purchased a long arm in 2013. Now I want to share my love of the crafts, by creating for others!
