Understand, first and foremost, that most positive internet reviews are generated by the business owner. So, as a rule, negative reviews are, at the very minimum, written by a human. I am a human. Here we go. Pennbrook was once a senior living facility. Little has changed. If you are under the age of 50, expect to move out after your first year. Not because there is anything wrong with senior neighbors, but the property manager, Yolanda, reacts to every noise complaint in such an abhorrent, ageist manner that she speaks to younger residents(under the age of 50) as if we are her neighbor’s unruly children. If a complaint is made, you are guilty. Period. Even if you have flight receipts to prove your absence during the date of complaint, you are still guilty. No matter what, if a car trunk is closed at 2am, if someone else’s guests are roaming the halls drunk, if kids have escaped a unit down the hall, once you have been identified(by Yolanda) as a problem tenant, you’re guilty. God forbid you truthfully blame the Somalis down the hall for letting their children run wild, because you’re RACIST! And dealing with her is demoralizing. She must be deaf, because words and logic and facts have zero impact. She operates with a massive a chip on her shoulder, and you’re ALWAYS guilty of having late guests and other things you NEVERDO. So, my advice is if you are white, young, have any visible tattoos, or self respect, go elsewhere. You’ll be leaving Pennbrook 12 months from your move-in date, and not by choice. The units are pretty cool. But the staff are awful. Frank the maintenance guy is awesome.
