La Quinta Inn

I never write reviews but this place was so atrocious I wanted to warn others. I grew up in Blm and my husband and I are moving across country with our cat. Since our parents have pets, we decided to stay here to keep our cat safe and less stressed.
At check-​in, the gentleman didn’t check my i.d., didn’t swipe my credit card, and didn’t have me sign the pet policy. I have worked at the front desk of hotels for 10+ years and that should have been the red flag that sent us running. I was worried the whole time about the stuff in our room and our cat because of the lackluster security at check-​in
The room was impeccably clean, I know because I took disinfecting wipes to every surface of it, but that’s about the only good thing. The blanket had cigarette burns, the stench in the room was beyond disgusting. It was a strong combination of mildew and ammonia from cat pee. I have a sensitive sniffer and suffered all night and felt like I couldn’t breathe. I was in tears at 10 pm because it was so bad and all I wanted to do was sleep in the car. I felt bad for our kitty’s little nose too.
We decided we were going to check out in the morning despite a 4 night booking. We get up at the crack of dawn to check out and get some fresh air only to find a homeless/​drunk man sleeping on the steps of our building! Wth! So much for safety and locking doors. That really shook me up!
As we were getting ready to check out, I guess everyone else was pretty upset by sleeping man and the staff said they called the cops but I got the impression he was there all night which means they have no overnight security or cameras.
The front desk gave us a little hassle checking out early, but thankfully «sleeping man» was enough to get the front desk to let us leave.
The breakfast was sad. No hot food other than waffles. Most La Quintas have eggs and a meat. Only carbs at this location. Not even yogurt. So much for a free breakfast!
I don’t know how this place hasn’t lost it’s «La Quinta» name yet. Has to be one of the worst and unsafe hotels I have ever experienced. Do yourself a favor and run from this place.
Oh and as a side note, I have noticed that they have false reviews/​reviewers on tripadvisor. Look at the three most recent reviews… All are 5 stars from people with only one review. And they all use similar wording.

This hotels bad experience started with a bang; we arrived from our 3.5 hour drive to be greeted by no one at the front desk.
They proceeded to room us directly next to the fitness room, and as the hotel’s walls are made of cardboard and papier-​mâché we could hear and feel the gentleman’s steps as he ran on the treadmill 30 minutes after it «closed.» The front desk attendant told him the room was closed Muir time; but did not make him leave or stop.
We are gold member holders at this chain and I am furious at how little they cared about my stay. This hotel is the worst and I will never return.

My experience of this hotel has been overwhelmingly bad. The hallway smelled as if it was mopped with pure sweat and the room was even worse with a mystery smell and close to 80 degrees. Once we hit the bed we noticed that there were strange crunchy spots covering a portion of the blanket. There were two bathrooms (one didnt have running water) both were disguistingly dirty. There were no outlets by the bed and the one that was free looked water damages ans surrounded by mold. And on top of all that the staff was extremely rude.

Cheap room for a business conference. Worked in a pinch and I trusted the brand but didn’t read reviews before coming.
Counter staff was super nice. Went above and beyond. No issues there. Liked the breakfast, was just enough to get a waffle, some juice, fruit, as a. Danish before a long day of meetings.
The room was clean, bed was comfortable but the place was dated. The doors looked like they didn’t fit so tons of light poured in the room even at night. The bathroom door was warped from water damage and a whole corner was practically falling off. I had no issues with the water temp though or pressure, Showers were great. I found the interested to work just fine. Streamed Netflix each night with zero issues. Maybe the hotel was not full? But I had none of the issues others had.
Room has a microwave and a mini fridge. Life saver for me as I like to have water on sight and snacks etc. Small flat screen tv worked fine, and the desk was fine as well.
For the price, I am not complaining. My biggest knock though was the hallways. I can say this delicately, or be blunt. I only have one style. The hallways and the entire hotel really smells like Curry. The owners are clearly Indian and super nice people, but the entire hotel and especially the hallways had a tinge of curry. Thankfully I couldn’t smell it in my room, but it is unmistakeable and was here all 4 days I stayed.
I’m not picky though, I think it is still decent value for the price. I come for business every so often and if it’s out of pocket, I don’t like blowing cash on a bed I’m in for a few nights. If you do like things to be immaculate, this isn’t your place.

Pretty much agree with all reviews. Room was dirty and blankets were not washed. It was not even that cheap, spring for a few extra dollars and stay somewhere much nicer, that actually has an elevator. One of worst places I’ve stayed in. A dump. Kids running around behind desk that I can’t even check in.

I booked this as we needed a place to stop for the night after driving 12 hours and I’ve never had a bad stay at a La Quinta. This hotel was very very dated and in desperate need of some updating.
Bathroom was awkward, like someone remembered after the fact that it needed a shower and toilet. The carpet was gross — I wouldn’t let anyone walk on the floor without shoes.
The beds were comfortable and the gal that checked us in and out was a sweetheart!

Convenient to the highway. That may be it’s only plus.
No business center for my sister to print her plane tickets for the next day.
Shitty and spotty WiFi.
Awkward bathroom (cramped and door didn’t like to close).

I gave it one star because it was cheap. I think that is the only good quality of this place. This was a few months ago.
My room was musky and had an odd smell. There looked like there was either pet food or rat poop in the AC vents. Bathrooms are small. Bed was horrible. My friend’s room was a little better minus that part of the bathroom door was missing.
There are plenty of other places around the area… for your health, go somewhere else and spend more.

I was going to give 3 stars, but then I took a shower. The water didn’t get to a comfortable «shower» temperature. It was lukewarm. Also, I like good water pressure and I never thought I’d complain about too much, but ouch! It was hard on my body! The room was clean, the staff was pleasant. The breakfast was sub par. A few cereals and cold biscuits to go with the gravy. No flavored creamers. Luckily, I brought my own vanilla from home. I didn’t like that the someone was mopping the entire breakfast area floor while people were serving themselves and eating. There were several elderly people that could have slipped. The bed was comfortable. Except at 8:00am when the ruckus of the housekeeping on the floor was keeping me from sleeping. I liked that my room had a fridge, small freezer and microwave. Location was convenient to the expressway, shopping, restaurants and the US Coliseum.

I wish I had read the reviews before checking in. I often travel with my dog which is why I usually pick La Quinta — however, it seems it’s hit and miss. Some of them are really nice and others not so nice. The first thing I noticed was the icky smell in my room and secondly, dirty toenails on the bathroom floor in front of the toilet! That’s so gross. The internet connection here in really crappy too and my pillow cases all have stains on them. There’s lots of hotels in this area and I highly suggest staying elsewhere. This place is yuck.

We had two dogs and needed a room. Our needs were met.
The room was outdated. The carpet was burned and there was something sticky on the floor on my side of the bed. Towels and bedding appeared to be clean, but there were old burn holes in the blanket.
There was no smell or visible mold in our room.
The parking lot is a jumble, and this is not a ‘motel’ where you can drive to your room. Everyone just sort of makes it up as they pull in in random directions.
Breakfast was carbs only — not even any cream cheese or peanut butter for protein — not breakfast in my book.
This is the low end for La Quinta, but it did serve our needs for the night.

I’ve stayed at some quite nice La Quintas. This was not one of them.
I guess for the price I can’t really complain, but that’s why they get two stars instead of one.
Overall this place has a very rundown feel to it. The rooms themselves aren’t bad, or dirty, but just not great. Little things like the room keycards not working great, and bigger things like the WiFi being horrible (yes, that’s a big deal to me.)

As I’m walking to my room there is «caution» tape just down the hall with parts of the ceiling falling down. I lay down to take a nap and there is hammering going on for the next 2 hours. All night there are doors slamming and my sleep is disturbed. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. The television reception was fuzzy and got worse when the AC turned on. Not the best experience.

«Non-​smoking» room that smells like stale smoke and has obvious cigarette burns on the linens, room locks that refuse to open no matter what kind of voodoo you try to work with your keycard, tiny bathrooms that feel like they’re made of ice, and a complete lack of power outlets outside the one in the bathroom.
It does have free wifi though, so that’s cool I guess.

Eeek.
The only things saving this hotel from one star are:
booking online helped for easy check-​in and no formal checkout procedures
Continental breakfast was more than donuts & coffee
Huge parking lot made it easy to park relatively close
Pets are ok
The downfalls:
Super small bathroom and extremely hard to move around
The room was both dusty and moldy — couldn’t sleep because I couldn’t breathe
None of the doors had key access during the day or after hours — had to walk to the front of the building to get in.
Creepy white stain on the wall next to the bed.
the sheets felt like they were made of straw or sandpaper
There are a bunch of other hotels close to the highway — pick one of them instead.
