For regular maintenance, Bloomington Subaru has an accelerated lane to the right. Depending upon when you arrive, you can have everything done in approximately 30 minutes. It seriously makes me wonder why it took so long previously. No complaints as I am appreciative. In the past, I would prolong getting a service done because I didn’t have the time to wait. Now with the acceleration lane, that is not an issue.
As a female, I have never felt as if Acura was duping me on recommendations. They provide proof if my face looks like I am doubting them. But it’s never a look of doubt; I assure you. Probably just a look of shame from all the snacks I ate on the lobby.
I have worked with Brandahl, Thomas, and Sal and have been pleased with all associates.

Just left with my new car and couldn’t be happier! From the moment I met Mood (my sales associate) I knew I liked him. I was very impressed with his product knowledge and blown away by his customer service. It’s rare combo to find and extremely valuable. I’ll definitely be back to see Mood for my next car.

I bought a used car and the extended warranty. After the purchase I was able to see that the extended warranty covered nothing. I had been told it would cover ANY repair which is not the case. I cancelled the extended warranty in May 2014 and full refund was to be sent to the loan company. The loan company did not receive the refund until January 2015. I complained to the loan company and the extended warranty company. I was told that Luther issues the refund. Luther sat on the refund for 7 months.

This is a great place, as far as service shops go, anyway.
Bought a used car here when my Forester from a local bulk retailer turned out to be a lemon. They sold me an older Legacy wagon (that still checks out all green) in the $ 4,000 range, all things considered. Can’t complain about that.
Still driving that car, and servicing it here. They always run a 27-​point check and let me know if anything’s off. They’ll even let me know which repairs might be looming in the coming months and years, based on the wear of the vehicle, so I can be prepared when things began to fail (as they always do with cars). I never feel like I’m having smoke blown up my ass, like literally every time I’ve been to Morrie’s.
Free wi-​fi and food/​coffee/​tea in the waiting room is a nice bonus. Always affordable prices. Not sure what else anyone would expect from a car dealership.

This review is in regards to our sales experience with the Used Car division. We were very pleased with our experience. I’ve read through most of the negative reviews and have to say were definitely didn’t experience ANY rude attitudes. Perhaps it’s because we called ahead before showing up in each case.
We worked with Dana H. who initially took our call and set up a test drive for us for the car we we saw posted on Craigslist. He had the car ready and was actually waiting for us when we arrived. We have two children and so of course we wanted to see how well our car seats fit and how the kids felt in the «new-​to-​us» cars we were testing. This meant that Dana couldn’t ride along with us on the test drive, but he showed us good faith and a no-​hassle attitude about it and actually let the 4 of us go on our test drive without any flack. When we returned we asked if there were any other similar cars on the lot (price/​type/​etc.) and we actually tried two additional cars which really helped us feel comfortable with the pros and cons available at our price range. We didn’t intend to buy that day since we still were getting financing and our down payment together, but Dana took the news in stride and just showed a friendly attitude that invited us to stay in touch.
We had mixed results on the rest of our search at other dealers but nothing as nice as working with Dana at Rudy Luther/​Bloomington Acura Subaru.
Fast forward a month we were happy to see that our first choice was still available and actually had been reduced in price by about $ 1000 since we first looked. This helped us overlook a few of the tell tale signs or buying a 6 year old car. You know small scratches, dents, and the like.
Our purchase experience couldn’t have gone smoother, considering we brought our two kids with us (heads up, if you haven’t bought a car in a while, take into account even on the fast side, you’ll be there for at least an hour). Even equipped with an iPad for the kids, don’t judge us ;c), we didn’t expect the kids just just be silent little lambs. But another sales person, Marlene, who offered us and the kids some water or chips. She ever entertained the kids over at her desk while we were going through paper work. What we liked about it, was that she just went out of her way and made our experience smoother.
In the finance office we were of course pitched additional services and protections for the car, but those offers just didn’t seem worth doing, mostly since it was a car who’s age wouldn’t really benefit the delayed aesthetic protection. But the prices seemed reasonable on the services that we would have done if the car was new.
TIP: We came in pre-​approved with our Credit Union (which sped up the process) and learned that the credit union actually had their own maintenance program that had very similar coverage to the dealer. It’s worth checking out if you’d prefer some versatility to where you have your car serviced should things go wrong.
So here’s where the Used Car team really stood out for us. After we got the Car home and some of the rose tinted glass view of the world faded just slightly; I discovered two small issues. Some poorly patched paint job about the length of a silver dollar and a small chip in the windshield below the line of vision. I brought the car in to see if there was anything they could do about it, simply since chips become cracks in the winter, and the bad paint job looked like it was done by the previous owner to get a better price for the trade in. The Used Car Sales Manager, TJ or JT not only said he’d cover it, but got on the phone with his auto body guy to take a look at it the same day. Within 24 hours they not only repaired the paint I was worried about but fixed the dent in the same location as well. The chip in the windshield was just filled in with an epoxy, which was all I expected. The good news there, was that could be done at any location I requested. All the people I worked with in those instances, including one of the shop techs, just made the experience a friendly and easy. At least as good as that can go.
I have to say that they’ve helped to build my image of what good customer service should look like and we’ll be looking first at this Rudy Luther location for future cars first.

I used to really like Bloomington Acura Subaru. My last few experiences have not been as good. The two stars is mainly only for the service department.
I am very brand loyal to my cars and loved my Acura TL I purchased from Bloomington Acura over 5 years ago. It was time for a new one and I knew exactly what I was looking for. I had been checking the dealership for a couple months looking for the car I wanted; another TL.
I was in one evening to talk to my sales person I used the first time I bought a car there and he was in the process of working with some other people. He said he’d be with me in a few minutes. 30 min late I just said I’d come back another day and he was fine with that. I actually came back because I wanted to buy a car from him. I stopped in on a Saturday and it was busy again and of course, he was spending his time with someone who was buying then and there. He finally came over and said he was busy and asked if I could back another day again. I told him what I was looking for and he said he’d give me a call. I never heard from him after a few weeks.
I found the car I was looking for at Buerkle Acura and bought it from them. It’s been 4 months since I bought the car and still haven’t heard from my OLD sales person. Buerkle Acura is a smaller dealership and they ONLY sell Acura and was given lots of attention. I’ll be going back there!
A few weeks ago I stopped into Bloomington Acura for some routine service to be done on my car. I had called to schedule an appointment and told they no longer take appointments. All I needed was to stop in. I stopped in after I left my office and had to wait for a woman in a Subaru who didn’t understand the concept of the service bay. Once inside I recognized the service managers and said they’d have me out around 45 min. 2 hours later… I was still waiting. Everything was completed and was happy with it but their new «just stop in service» doesn’t seem to have the kinks worked out yet.

I recently bought an ’05 Honda Accord from Michael Rappaport and was very happy with the service.
This was my wife’s and my first car-​buying experience and Mike was patient, thorough, and not aggressive in answering all of our questions. I would go back for future cars for sure and will definitely keep them in mind in the future.

Ryan and Luke both were spectacular and the service was fast and friendly. Great waiting area with free snacks and drinks. Everything was priced out competitively too. I’ll be back for as long as I live in the Twin Cities.

Bloomington Acura soured me on both Bloomington Acura AND Acura. Sales rep lied throughout the process and getting the dealer to fulfill promises was like pulling teeth.
The used Acura RDX, which I bought for the safety of my newborn, turned out to be a lemon. It was the worst handling vehicle on snow I’ve ever owned and we had recurring electrical shorts that fully drained the battery.
Save yourself headaches, your pride and substantial $$. Buy a 2015 Honda CRV instead. We are extraordinarily pleased with the increased fuel efficiency, use of unleaded instead of premium, reliability and handling. Walser Honda near Burnsville Center offered the best net non-​negotiating price including new vehicle sale and trade-​in.

Great buying experience! Michael Rappaport was easy going, honest and expedient. We would certainly come back and buy from him again.

I bought my Acura TSX here in 2004 and have had all the service done here other than occasional oil changes. The buying experience was normal enough but I want to comment on the outstanding service department. Multiple times I have come out of oil changes elsewhere and was told I needed new brakes to new in cabin filters etc… Only to decline and take my car to Bloomington Acura and be told none of it was needed. They do awesome work quickly with state of the art equipment and I trust them which is hard to find in other car service & repair shops. My TSX has run trouble free since I bought it and have had the service done here. They have never said or done anything that was even remotely suspicious in over 10 years working on my car.

Review is about the service department, they have taken great care of my TL for years. They even guided me through an extended warranty replacement of my transmission that was really trying.

My friend owns an Acura he bought from this dealership. He had a few repairs after owning the car for a while and was repeatedly overcharged.
I thought it was just a service mishap, so when looking to test drive a new Subaru, I went there and gave em a shot.
It was awful. I literally had to fight to find a salesperson to talk to. The staff was rude and unhelpful. My questions went unanswered.
After 45 minutes of trying to get someone to help me (on a Thursday evening when it wasn’t too busy) I gave up and left. I then got put on their email list and get blasted weekly with spam for their dealership. It seems impossible to get rid of them, like a social disease.
Avoid them and find a professional operation; these guys are hucksters of the most dubious order.

After our experience at this dealership, I think we will become official Subaru owners in the near future– trading in our Lexus. We worked with Ross, and were SUPER impressed with his down-​to-​earth, knowledgeable approach. We never felt pressured, but were given just the details we needed to weigh our trade-​in. Not only that, but they were incredibly fair in what they offered us, and efficient in answering any question we had.
Also, they have really great coffee there while you wait! Honestly, I can’t wait to go back– I really like them and trust them after the time they gave us today. I can’t remember when I’ve had a more pleasant experience as a first-​time customer.

My fiancé and I bought a new Subaru Forester from Bloomington Acura/​Subaru when we first arrived in Minnesota. We were on a short timeline to get some wheels, and all the other Subaru dealerships we went to couldn’t beat the price that Bloomington gave us.
Not that buying a car is the most pleasant experience, but this was relatively pain-​free. We did our due diligence with our research and financing ahead of time, and were able to get a solid price on a new Forester. Their financing department was helpful in securing some incentives for new college graduates that Subaru of America offered which was nice.
The only negative comment I have is that the cost of servicing & maintenance at Bloomington Acura/​Subaru was noticeably more than other certified Subaru dealerships in the area.

Two young women, for whom I am their financial adviser, asked me to accompany them as one shopped for a new SUV. They’d used the Costco buying service to locate the best price on a particular model Subaru Outback 15i. That dealership was Bloomington Acura Subaru, part of the Luther Automobile Group. Although the young women were apprehensive about shopping at Bloomington Acura Subaru because of the numerous negatives reviews of this dealership on several internet forums, I persuaded them to make the trip and see if, indeed, the price quoted on the Costco sales sheet, supplied by the dealership, was correct. If the price and vehicle were as described, I argued that the reviews they’d read were irrelevant. The important thing was to get the desired vehicle at an excellent price.
When we entered the dealership at 1:00 pm, it appeared that it was closed. We walked around for about ten minutes, browsing at vehicles, without being approached. Finally, I asked one of my clients to ask the receptionist to page the salesperson, who had been assigned to the Costco sales sheet. The receptionist quite rudely informed her that he worked «out of the dealership on Monday.» but didn’t bother to suggest that another salesperson might be of service. At that point I told the receptionist to get a salesperson or the sales manager. Within a few moments, the sales manager appeared. Shortly, he assigned a salesperson, Amy, friendly, congenial, eager to assist. However, the vehicle that was listed on the Costco sales sheet via Bloomington Acura Subaru was illusory. It simply didn’t exist. However, Bloomington Acura Subaru had several «upgraded» Subaru Outbacks at «only a couple of thousand dollars more.» We were informed that only four vehicles as described on the sales sheet existed in the region, none at Bloomington Acura Subaru. Why Bloomington Acura Subaru’s Costco liaison sales representative quoted a price on a vehicle he didn’t have is classic. My client test drove one vehicle; although not what she wanted and we walked.
Within one hour, my client purchased a Honda CRV at Inver Grove Honda. The dealership had, I’d guess, over 100 vehicles of this model. The experience could not have been easier. She described what she wanted, the salesman, Tim, pulled an inventory sheet listing all the CRVs and how they were equipped. She selected one, test drove it, and bought it.

My review is solely on the used car department. We came here to look at a forester they had. I called a head and made sure we would be able to see it. We arrived and came to the front desk, we were rudely redirected down the hall to used vehicles. If you aren’t going to buy new they aren’t very friendly up front.

We made our way to the used vehicle department and no one paid us any attention whatsoever. Finally a very nice lady walked in from outside and came to the rescue. Luz is amazing and super friendly. So we told her about the forester and she goes to get the key to look at it.
Our conversation was over heard by Kyle (complete a-​hole!) who says «I’m working on selling it!» So he has a nice couple at his desk and Luz asks nicely is she can show it just in case. the couple weren’t sure if they wanted it yet. He gives us this irritated look at says «They can LOOK at it, but can’t drive it.» Then throws the key to her.
Luz looked horrified that he was so incredibly rude. We go out and look at the vehicle, whole we are talking to her and sitting IN the vehicle, Kyle comes out and bangs on the car and tells us it’s sold and we need to get out of it. Wtf? Seriously? It came off so incredibly rude and disgusting. Luz apologized profusely for his rude behavior and looked appalled.
We go back inside to look through the list of other vehicles she has, she was super informative and friendly. Unfortunately there were no other vehicles in that caught our eye.
Next day we receive an email from Kyle, who we did not give our info, informing us he may have a forester for is and to stop by. I called in and apparently Luz no longer works there!?! So disappointing, I hope for her sake she goes to a better dealership.
So we go in to see the forester and it isn’t even there yet, won’t be for another 3 – 4 days. Kyle wasn’t in, and the two sales people working were so rude and clearly didn’t feel like selling us a vehicle. I can honestly say that this place could have the deal of the century and I wouldn’t come back. Completely disgusted at their employees!

OK, I went back to get my FOB reinstalled, and David was awesome. He was expecting me, and had expedited everything. He was super friendly and nice, called and left a message that it was fixed, and he himself has saved this car dealer in this upgraded 2-​star review.

Bought a used car from them. 5 days later it broke down while I was driving. Could’ve been in a serious crash had that been on the highway.
Brought it back and they sent it to their partner dealership. Claimed it was just low on oil.
Went to pick up my car and they lost my keys because someone accidentally brought them home.
Then they send my title to the wrong address even though I specifically said I was going to pick it up.
Probably the worst car buying experience of all time. I’ll never buy or recommend another Luther dealership again. Also, their sales staff and employees should present themselves more professionally. Don’t come to work with gym shoes and stains on your shirt. And fix your building, it’s really dirty and I can see mold in the ceilings.
