Rude driver and rude receptionist. Blocked my driveway for a half hour and I wasn’t even the customer. When I asked how long it would be, he told me as long as he could take.

I needed a tow and just found this company on Google. They arrived right away (less than 5 min wait) and charged me less than what another company wanted. No complaints based on my experience

After Bloomingdale Police refused to let me drive my car home — even though it was totally driveable, they called Bloomingdale towing — what a scam! For a 1.5 mile tow — $ 320!!! Are you kidding me? I think the P.D. and this towing company are in cahoots! Stay far, far away! — unless you like getting ripped off!

My husbands work truck auto locked this morning with the truck running. After waiting an hour for another company to arrive that company called and said they couldn’t come. Called Bloomingdale Towing the girl who answered the phone was very helpful said we will dispatch a driver right now. He arrive unlocked in a matter of minutes. Super friendly easy to deal with and very helpful! We used them for towing on one other occasion and had the same experience.

Horrible customer service. Guy would argue with me, kept talking over me, raising his voice and always claimed he was right about everything he said. Felt like a scam to be at this place the whole time because after I paid and signed to get my car out, they started talking in a sarcastic tone throughout our conversations and told me new information because they already had my money and had me sign the sheet. This company was the worst business I’ve ever dealt with and should be shutdown immediately if they did have a deal relationship with the police.

We had a large heavy package that needed to be delivered to a dock rather then to our home. Bloomingdale Towing had the best price to pick up the package from the dock and deliver it to us. The service was great… the driver even let my 3 year old son, who loves trucks, to press a button and help him unload. Thank you for the help and the great service.

Okay so this rating is based on one thing, and one thing only. On the first snow of the season I wiped out and needed a tow; The police called a tow for me and behold Bloomingdale towing comes. The driver was nice and got me off the road quickly. The problem is that he wouldn’t tow me to my dealership because apparently it was too far! Really your a row service! I get there’s other accidents but I now need to get a second tow because he had to take it to my place of residence instead of the dealership On the way home the driver was getting yelled at by his supervisor for taking far as he did. Why are you yelling at someone for taking them
Home? Are you kidding me? Like I said the driver was great and I would use the service again if he was able to bring me to the dealership. I’m filing a complaint with the BBB.

Nothing like driving down Bartlett and having a tow truck do a U turn right in front of you!

I had to slam on the brakes to avoid him and almost got rear ended in the process.

terrible. absolutely terrible. awful customer service. dude told me not to tell him how to do his job. bc I told him he’s going to bottom out my car. so he had to call in another truck. just ridiculous

cost me $ 365 for a tow.
Later found out. One of their professional tow truck drivers rear ended one of my close friends.

I locked myself out of my car this morning and called a locksmith to help me out. He said they were really busy and could put me on a list, or, he said, give these guys a call. They might do lock-​outs. I called up Bloomindale Towing & Recovery and they said they’d have someone out in less than 20 minutes. I spoke with two people on the phone who were very friendly, and the driver (Nate) was at my car in less than 20 minutes, as promised. He was also very nice, and cheerful as well… something that I definitely appreciated. He had the car unlocked right away, and it cost me $ 65, less than a locksmith probably would have charged. Although I didn’t use them for towing, the truck looked like it was in great shape… I would definitely trust them to tow my car as well. DEFINITELY use these guys!

Nate was great. My motorcycle died in a parking lot not too far from home (within 2 miles). He showed up in about 30 minutes, put the bike right on the flatbed, followed me home (I was in my car by this time), put the bike in the garage for me. Total bill $ 70. Friendly and helpful. Would definitely use again.

When a friend was recently pulled over for an expired license and failure to appear in court (snafu on the part of Springfield’s bureaucratic régime, not sending the notice to the right address), the local police had Bloomingdale towing come out on the site of the arrest and pulled his car into their lot.
Less than ten hours after I post his bail, we go to pick up his car so he can straighten out the mess with the DMV and the courts. This place is easy to miss, as they are tucked behind an auto-​body shop which is connected to the towing enterprise.
Despite towing his car only a few miles, they charged him $ 205.00, which included an overnight fee! The car was towed at 4pm and the place closes at five. They wouldn’t budge on waving the overnight fee.
The lobby is essentially a concrete block with a tiny window where you hand over your payment. There’s no place to sit whatsoever. To make matters worse, the greasy haired girl staffing the place informed us of their outrageous payment policies.
First off, they won’t take any credit cards. Alright, so that’s their right, even if they just lost stars for customer service. Okay, how about debit? Nope, we don’t take those either. So I had the girl $ 210.00 in cash. She shoves it back saying that they only take exact change. Dumbstruck, I just stared at her in disbelief.
So you won’t take credit, check or debit and you refuse to have change on premises to conduct transactions? Pathetic. You folks realize that you just towed someone’s car, right? If they were dropped off by taxi, now they have to flag down another one or walk to a bank to get exact change?
We ended up driving to Chase right down the road East of here on Lake Street where I got the exact change from the teller. Bloomingdale towing, you failed on all possible levels. First, your fees and lack of understanding in trying to at least wave the overnight were out-​of-​line with the service you provided the police. Second, your payment «system» is a joke, without a good punchline. Lastly, the lady in the office needs to drop the attitude and take a long shower.
One star for them not stealing anything from inside my friend’s car.
Pray you don’t get towed by these people.

After the Blizzard of 2011 and a lot of snow shoveling (no snow blower here), I found out that my car decided to go kerplunk right in my driveway. This was not how I imagined I would kick off the first snow day of my adult years. Regardless, I hopped on Unilocal and tried to find a highly rated towing company in the area. I was not very successful. Most places didn’t answer their phones, wouldn’t be able to help until next week or wanted to charge me an arm, a leg and had dibs on my firstborn son. Bloomingdale Rescue & Recovery was a different story.
When I called the first time, the phone was promptly answered by a pleasant female who took some information and provided a quick quote. I called back a few minutes later because I had a few more questions. As busy as she was, she was still nice and didn’t make me feel like an idiot for my «towing newbie» questions.
I continued to make my quote phone calls and quickly found that Bloomingdale R&R had the best price, the nicest employees and would actually be able to help me on my schedule. I called back this afternoon and spoke with a gentleman who put my on the tow list. I thought they wouldn’t be able to get me until later in the day tomorrow, but I lucked out and that same gentleman called back a couple hours later and let me know that they were on their way. I was able to leave the key in the car and they picked it up, called a half-​hour later when they were ready to drop it at the repair shop and took my credit card number over the phone.
BEST PART… After getting quotes for around $ 200, this tow only cost me $ 116!
Bloomingdale R&R, you are programed in my cell phone. I hope that I never have to call you again, but I do plan on giving all my friends in need your number. ;-)
