I have to say the seamstress did a really good job with my suit and pant. It was ready just as was stated. She was even polite when I called mid-week to ask for an additional adjustment to my waist on the pants. The price wound up being just under $ 50 which I guess is close to what I expected. I may check out other options next time though just to contrast and compare.

GREAT Customer Service! I brought my wedding gown to be taken in. The lady quoted me $ 30 – 50 and approx 10 days to finish it. my gown is heavily beaded, and I know it was a lot of work. She had to take it in by 2 inches. She made me put it on, and she measured with great precision.;) I brought the gown Saturday, and she told me to pick it up the following Saturday. Mid-week, she called to let me know that she needs more time and the dress should be ready by Wednesday. She even reminded me to bring in the undergarments since it makes the fit different, too. I came in Thursday morning since I couldn’t make it on Wednesday. Not only did she do a wonderful job, she also assisted me with fitting the dress and everything! She made sure that the floor is super clean so that my gown wouldn’t get soiled or something. She charged me a little extra since she had to put a lot of the beading back; which I think is fair enough. I couldn’t be happier. My gown fits like a glove.:)

This shop does real good work, their prices might be a touch higher than other local places but they provide a quick service and does alterations too.

Did a same-day survey of 3 cleaners — Prestige(Schick Rd), Bloomingdale(Lake Rd), and Old Town(Bloomingdale Rd). Each cleaner was given 5 men’s shirts and 1 men’s suit. Bloomingdale was accommodating with the pickup time. People were pretty business-like, not particularly friendly or unfriendly. Their price was $ 5 less than either Prestige or Old Town. However, the job was not as good as the other two. Right at pickup, the top white shirt had a dark dot right in front. After I pointed it out, she willingly took it back for pickup the next day. The spot was removed. I just casually glanced at the others. However, a while later, Hubby pulled out another white shirt and the right front collar was all smudged up! It was still in the original plastic with tag, so I knew whose it was. I tried wiping it, then Shout-ing it. I wasn’t happy and Hubby was in a rush. Didn’t take this one back. Maybe they just had an off day? I feel bad writing this review since I like supporting small local businesses, and I make allowances for one off day. I’ll repeat that the lady very willingly took back the shirt to re-clean, no probs and substantially less pricey. On the plus side, they’re right next to a sushi place, they’re conveniently located on Lake St, and the parking lot is easy to get in and out of.
