Established in 2012.

Voted Best of Suburban Essex for 2014 and 2015 and Morris Essex Health & Life for 2014/2016, The Wax Den was established by a 23 year veteran in the cosmetology industry in order to address specific waxing needs for a diverse clientele. The team specializes in Brazilian and Manzilian waxing services.

I am a skilled and experienced Brazilian waxer, which can make the difference between a torturesome wax (you may have experienced this at some point before) and a pleasant experience. Currently, I do about 60 Brazilian waxes per week. I am impeccable about cleanliness, using the DIP & DISCARD technique for sanitary waxing.

Wanted to add to this. I saw Maria today since Erica was busy — which I really appreciate the staff doing their best to accommodate me so I don’t wait — and she’s wonderful! I’m very particular about who I see, because once I’m comfortable with someone, I only want to see them. But Maria was great — she was fast and I felt no pain whatsoever! She was super friendly, made me feel comfortable and I was out in less than 20 minutes! Glad to know I have great options at The Wax Den :)

Let me start by saying that my technician Erica was amazing, that is the ONLY reason why I am rating this place one star. The manager is very unprofessional. I had a situation where I asked to speak to a manager (without giving too much) and I never received a call back. I called at least three times and the staff basically said they would relay the message. I am very big on customer service and there was absolutely none. As a manager it is your responsibility to at least address a customers complaint or concern and I couldn’t even get that. It is a shame because Erica is wonderful at what she does, but I refuse to spend my money at a place where I am not valued as a customer.

2 years since my last review and 4 years since coming for the first time. I’ve seen many techs come and go however this is hands down still the only place I come to. Seen people try to launch wars after they leave, but all that tells you is clearly something is being done right here. Otherwise everyone would just stop coming! I’ve tried others when I was unable to get an appointment and usually left swearing I’d just wait to get back in here. Jae is awesome and who I go to personally, I don’t know the other ladies at this point, but they’ve been trained by her so we should only expect good things! Also everyone is friendly and even friendly when you are!
Pro Tips:
–Be on time. Seriously the CP time thing is annoying and unnecessary at this point. You do get an extra 8 minutes, but come on. Or just call and let someone know what is going on!
— If you can’t get an appointment, then go on the waitlist. Sure fire best way to get in.
— Online not working? Call.

I’m a regular at the European Wax Center but I came across a good deal on Groupon for a Brazilian at the Wax Den I couldn’t pass it up.
I booked my appointment at the Bloomfield location which was close to me
There is a strict No Show Policy–
The offer on groupon was $ 23, I made an appointment and didn’t receive a reminder text or email. I forgot about the appointment and didn’t call to cancel or reschedule. Therefore, I was charged $ 50 on my credit card for No Show Fee and sent and email that the policy is listed on the website. This was not a Great 1^st impression. So If you decide to go here please be mindful of the Late and No Show Policy

I had a brazilian wax from a Groupon at the Bloomfield location. The place is clean and cozy. The offer you coffee/tea/hot chocolate upon arrival. The wax professional that took me in was Maria. She was great! Very friendly & knowledgeable. Always made sure that I was comfortable.
The receptionist was also very professional and pleasant.
My only issue with this place is that you can hear the conversation that is going on in the next room. The waxing room itself is pretty small too but gets the job done.

I’m a regular at the European Wax Center but after coming across a good deal on Groupon for a Brazilian at the Wax Den I couldn’t pass it up.
I booked my appointment at the Nutley location which was a nice welcoming, cozy little spot. Plenty of parking was available which was a plus already because the parking at the Wax Center I tend to go to in Clifton Commons is a nightmare. The wax professional that took me in was Kathy, by far one of the best I have encountered so far. She was very welcoming, and knowledgable to every single question I had. Because it was my first time getting a full brazilian, she was attentive to see if I was comfortable during the whole process which was great because I felt little to minimal pain during the waxing process. I left perfectly fine and was given a few tips on when to come back for maintenance, etc.
There is a strict late policy to this place so always make sure you get there on time for your appointment to avoid any charges. Being that I was in a long detour that day, I had called 15 minutes prior to my appointment to let them know I was going to be a few minutes late because of the traffic, they accommodated me and moved my appointment up a few minutes to ensure I’ll get there on time & on top of that have an additional 8 min grace time. Besides the strict timing policy, I had a great experience. I will definitly be back for a routine waxing!

I am convinced this place makes their own reviews. How could they possibly have 4.5 stars?!?
I would not recommend this place at all to anyone!!!
They have poor customer service and are borderline crooks! After purchasing a deal ($ 35 for a Brazilian wax) I tried to book a Brazilian wax a few weeks later and they informed me that it was expired. This is understandable since most coupons do expire. However, when asked if the $ 35 dollars I paid can be put towards a Brazilian wax and informed them that I would pay the difference (I still have my receipt) I was told this was impossible. When asked why, I was put on hold for a few minutes then was told because it is a «different service.»
I’m still trying to figure out how a Brazilian wax is a different service from a Brazilian wax!!!
They are basically crooks! Do not go here!!!

Great environment, staff and service tho call prior to purchasing any special deals. ex Groupons/Living Social can only be used for new customers (god forbid your first time was a Brazilian and you later want to get a special for underarm NO!!. Also they send out emails for maintenance Brazilian for $ 40, and they charge $ 50 if you can’t find that email. Make sure to visit every 3 – 4 weeks for maintenance (even if there’s nothing thing there because you get charged full price.

Not an appealing location from outside or in. I bought a groupon and I tried to make an appointment over the phone but no one ever picked up the line. So I drove there as a walk-in and the woman at the front had a bit of an attitude with me. She kept insisting I give her my credit card information for next time (in case you miss an appointment and don’t cancel within 24 hours they will charge you for a visit). I asked why I had to if I had already pre-paid and she just rolled her eyes and said «because that’s our policy». I obliged with hesitation since I didn’t know if I would ever be back. The woman who did my wax was friendly but when u got home I found residual wax still stuck on me that I had to remove. Better places of there so I wouldn’t go back.

Nayda was great! Very pleasant & professional. Definitely gentle with the way she worked and she talked me through what she was doing, that way I knew what to expect and helped me relax during the session.
The place is clean and the person at the front desk is very good in handling customers.

So I tried this place with a groupon /living social deal. The girl that waxed me was a sweetheart. It was painful though.
1^st problem… she left the hair on my lower stomach. I’ve been waxed at several places and they remove the hair because it’s so minimal .
2^nd problem… when I got home my hot box was bleeding. At first I was freaking out but I decided to wait and see if it would go away if not I would have been on the phone with the owner. It did heal in a few days.
I won’t be going back. I don’t give second chances with my hot box. I’ve since been waxed several times and no issues so I know this was an isolated incident.
I just wrote this review as I keep getting emails on deals thus reminding me of the service I received. I noticed the bleeding after I got home this is why there was nothing noted on my account.
