Dr. Herbert Glatt

I’ve been coming to Dr. Glatt for my glasses prescriptions for about 5 years now. I was tired of the run-​around from big chain stores, and a friend recommended Dr. Glatt. I’ve never had a bad experience with his office.
The waiting room/​paperwork portion of the office visits were about what you’d expect. A bit of a wait, a clipboard to copy your insurance information onto. The unshakable ambiguity of medical payment. But I never felt like I was overcharged or unduly bothered. And when I got laid off and had to go onto Medicaid, Dr. Glatt was the only doctor that I could keep. The reassurance that I could still go there made me feel better about my whole situation.
My eye exams have always been top-​notch. I never wait long in the exam room. The tests are a bit less irritating than my average experience with eye exams. And he’s never had to dilate me, which would mean I’d have to bring someone to drive me back home. I’m very satisfied with my experiences, and have no hesitation to return there or recommend him to my peers.

This was one of the most inconvenient and unprofessional experiences I have ever had with any healthcare provider. They started off by asking me to pay in advance despite the fact that I have insurance and he was listed as an in network provider. Nevertheless I pay and the doctor sees me. The next day I received notification from my insurance provider that the claim to the doctor was approved and I was responsible for $ 0 out of pocket. When I called this office I was passed around several times and nothing was resolved. The doctor then told me I would not receive a refund until he had the cash in his account! They are essential making ppl pay out of pocket and will pocket the money or at the least use it to float until they receive payment from the insurance providers. I would highly suggest anyone looking for a provider with integrity and compassion stay away from this office!

I had a wonderful experience. He and his staff were thorough without going overboard. I found everyone competent and friendly. I didn’t wait a very long time, and it was a pleasant and calm office.
I don’t have a lot to compare him too, but I left satisfied with the appointment and very happy to recommend him to people I like.
