I arrived at peak dinner time on a Thursday. The parking lot was full, but it was easy enough to park along the street. Lots of Audi cars in the lot. Wait time was approximately 30 – 40 minutes. The bar was packed. The odd thing was the average age of the crowd. I don’t live in the area, but I am 41 years old. With the exception of the servers and two small children, I was possibly the youngest person there. Perhaps it was the prices which scared the younger crowd off. One meal, one appetizer, and a cocktail was approx. $ 38 with tax. The cider Rita cocktail was fair. I can’t say that it was worth the price of a premium cocktail. The jalapeño popper dip was quite odd. A very creamy dip made with what I think was mayo. It tasted nothing like a jalepeño popper(nor was it spicy), but the the soft pretzels it came with were very good. The enchilada is not really an enchilada at all. It is what I would call a chimichanga in the Tex-Mex world. The menu described it as containing several cheeses, including Manchego. However, I never found any cheese at all. It was stuffed with mostly rice, corn, and black beans, none of which were mentioned in the menu. It is a fair restaurant with kind hostesses and wait staff. However, this experience is just plain«meh». For the most part, it was not anything better than a low-cost chain restaurant experience. Since I didn’t try their famed short rib or other more extravagant dishes, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt with 3 stars, but I am not likely to return. I would save your money and go elsewhere.

The burger was delicious. My table also had the lobster Mac n cheese and the meatloaf and everyone loved their meals. The waitress was very attentive. My only complaint would be we were sat right the men’s bathroom so that was a little weird every time someone opened the door to go in or out.

Decent place. We’re from out of town and looked up reviews on Unilocal.Seemed to check out well so we decided to give it a shot. The first impression was the parking lot and it was not a good one. There is definitely not nearly enough parking for the amount of business they have. We drove around for about ten minutes and just before giving up, someone left. This could turn away many people before they even step foot in. They gave us an estimated 30 min wait time and it only took about 15. Our server was a little delayed at first and seemed a little overwhelmed, but once we ordered the food came out promptly. The short rib tacos are too die for! So good! I love that the condiments are on the side as I love avocado, but he doesn’t. My husband had the cheeseburger and I had the filet. He said his food was decent, but nothing to brag about. My filet was good and tender. I very much enjoyed it. We finished with the gold brick sundae and if you’re considering it. Go ahead and pass. It’s basically ice cream with turtle shell. Not sure if we’d go again, maybe just for apps and drinks if we did.

Stopped in for lunch with friends while in town-on the recommendation of a regular. We were not disappointed! We all ordered the short rib grilled cheese & tomato soup. The meat is so tender and the soup is amazing! Appetizer Cesar salads are great as well. They bring out complimentary biscuits for the table that are much better than many I’ve had during my time living in Dallas. The space is really cool and something you don’t find often in the metro area. Great service! Only con**they don’t send your leftover soup home so be sure to ask!

Neighborhood spot, amazingly consistent. I love their balsamic glazed Brussels Sprouts. The burgers here are great too.

Not too bad. Location at the end of the day, is weird but here it does well with traffic flow. Food is decent. Not too bad for a robert group spot. Could be better. They all taste the same at some point. This and Bills and maybe even street side. Same idea, different spot on the map.

The braised short rib is amazing!!! I wish they would create a dinner combining their short rib, Brussels sprouts and potatoes and I would eat there once a week. Their outdoor patio is perfect with fans and just the right breeze that makes dining outside even on a hot day very enjoyable. Service is always great. Recommend! Worth the visit!

This place is one of my favorites. I dine here at least once a week to enjoy breakfast, and Amy the bartender’s colorful descriptions of the daily specials. Tonight, the sweet potato soup was delicious! Avoid the deviled eggs like they were the plague! The eggs were cold and rubbery and the yolk mixture was overdressed, hoping to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. If you screw up the eggs, just throw them away and start over! The fried chicken looks inviting.

This was my second time dining here. The first time I came here, I sat at the bar and had much better service. The Calamari was amazing. I would have been happy just ordering an entrée sized portion and having that for lunch! I had the Short Rib Grilled Cheese with French Onion Soup. It was delicious. Tonight, the service was BAD. The waitress took a long time to come to the table to get our drink orders. In fact, the manager was walking around outside asking about the temperature of the patio and we said something about not seeing anyone for a while. The waitress came out shortly after and took our drink order. The couple behind our table was seated after us and ended up getting served first. We didn’t even get our food for maybe another 15 minutes after their food came. The Blackened Scallops and Shrimp was delicious. The Grilled Whitefish was good but some bites were a little fishy tasting(sorry, I’m one of those people that don’t like fish that tastes fishy). I also had the chopped side salad which was a nice start. The waitress never came back to ask how dinner was. Yes, there are servers to deliver the food and fill the water, but our waitress never came back to the table until we gave the manager our credit card and said we haven’t seen a bill. We had been finished for quite some time. Who knows where the waitress went. I am giving this place 4 stars because my dad comes here quite frequently and enjoys it and I did very much enjoy my experience the first time. This time wasn’t bad… I just think I would have been better off ordering what my dad had because those Scallops were on point!

Great service, not too busy and the best damn short rib tacos ever. The short rib tacos alone get this place 4 stars, decent Detroit beers help keep it there.

The lunch we had yesterday was not the usual experience I have had here at B&G. In the past I was wonderfully surprised at the food, atmosphere, and staff. This time was much different. After arriving, we were quickly seated and approached by our waitress. She took our drink orders. Brought them quickly and then took our orders. I had the Turkey Reuben and my colleague had the Steak Caesar salad. After many other patrons who were seated well after us got their food well before us. Too long to wait for what we ordered. The Reuben was pretty good but Steak Caesar seemed like they totally could care less about presentation or that the chef had a vendetta against him. Bag salad with two charred uncut slabs of steak on it. His response was«sounded better than it looks». After the, it took another 15 minutes to get our bill. Sloppy service, food, and experience from what is usually a spot on place. And even though it wad lunch, it was not overly busy to cause this failure.

Haven’t been here since they opened but thought we needed to give another try. It was much better I’m happy to say. Service was just ok. Waiter wasn’t very observant so forgot things but I like to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was new. My other half is far less patient. *Perch was very good and generous portion with mashed potatoes and green beans cooked al dente. *Ran out of Seabass special which was disappointing. Friend ordered another fish that he said was good. *salmon burger was good also. Nice wine list but short on pour at $ 13.00 a glass for my favorite Zin, St Francis.

Definitely a much better experience than our last visits 3 years ago. In all honesty, we didn’t purposely avoid this place for this long of time, but it certainly wasn’t something we were rushing back for. Our last visit was much better due to the fact that we ordered their burger and pork tenderloin special. In general, our experiences with specials within the Roberts Group restaurants have been pretty positive. The burger was a fantastic size and the flavors were mouthwatering delicious. Their house blend of meats has the right lean meat to fat ratio without being greasy. I also like that they give you a choice of three cheeses: Cheddar, Swiss, and Muenster. We went with the cheddar and it was nicely melted on the patty. Condiments were typical, but they were very fresh. Pork temderloin was prepared just right with a little bit of pink and not overcooked. Quantity was fine, and the heirloom tomatoes were roasted nicely. I would have liked more gouda mashed potatoes but there was still enough for two of us. Our server was pleasant and unobtrusive. We didn’t have dessert but I err on the side of caution with their desserts because it’s not their strong point. We would come back again for those category of items and even brunch, which I heard is good. Overall, stick with their specials, come later in the evening, and try their burger!

Very nice atmosphere reminiscent of a modernized road house. Asked the server’s recommendation between their Kobe meatloaf and their signature burger. She said tough decision, but everyone loves the meatloaf. Meatloaf was prepared with minimal filler and had a nice light sauce, not the typical heavy gravy. Mashed potatoes had real chunks of potato, so no instant mix. The green beans were cooked perfectly, with a slight snap to them still. Simple, but well prepared dish. Next time I would like to try the burger — house mix of sirloin, short rib and brisket.

Four of us went. Got the warm chips(good) and oysters(fine). The four entrees were poor. Bad lake perch(in michigan?!), okay Boursin encrusted filet mignon, good pasta dish, and then there was mine… The Kobe meatloaf with red wine sauce. From the first taste to the last, all that was in my mind was TV dinner Salisbury Steak. This dish was just awful. All of the plating on the dishes was very boring. Molded scoops of mashed potatoes, green beans, and main dish… all placed as if they were for a 5 year old who insisted that«the food shouldn’t touch!» Overall, the service was friendly but clumsy(errors and omissions on drinks), and noticeably slow. Also, I like modern design and all and most of the place has a good feel, but exposed cinder block? That’s just cheap. I won’t go back. There are any number of better places to go, especially for the $ 180 we spent for 4 people.

Roadside B&G sits on Telegraph, past dealerships and suburban malls. It has the industrial look that seems to be the preferred aesthetic in restaurant design these last few years. This means exposed ductwork, iron support beams, and cinder block walls. On the outside, vintage metal cars decorate one side of the building. Similar cars are placed throughout the restaurant interior. During warmer weather(which this weekend definitely was not), outside seating is available, enclosed in a clear barrier. There were several interesting brunch items on the menu, including banana pancakes. They sounded delicious but I was in the mood for comfort food, specifically Lobster Mac & Cheese. The ditalini pasta, small pasta tubes, was liberally coated in a béchamel sauce that included 3 different cheeses: Mascarpone, white cheddar, and parmesan. The topping was crunchy and buttery, what you would expect from crushed Ritz crackers. The sauce was assertive enough to stand up to the garlicky, anchovy Caesar salad starter that I had. The sauce did overwhelm the delicate taste of the sweet lobster claw meat, though. There were several options for dessert but the Pineapple Upside cake looked interesting. Hot yellow cake with a coarse crumb, similar to coffee cake, included chunks of pineapple. It has an incredibly sweet and crunchy crust. The accompanying premium vanilla ice cream was covered in a caramelized sugar sauce. In all, this meal was fine but the menu was fairly indistinguishable from those of other restaurants in the area. Service was fine.
