Mary Rettig – RE/MAX Realtor

I signed a contract with Mary Rettig and CENTURY 21 Today to help find us a home and be our buyers agent… everything seemed fine at first… we had been working with her to find a new home for a few months.
Found a place in Farmington we liked and put in an offer, but lost to a higher bidder… found another home, put an offer in, accepted… but it has major issues of mold on inspection… mid-​way through negotiations for the mold house she flakes out and stops representing us… She claims we weren’t serious about buying a house… wtf?
Her agency CENTURY 21 Today of Farmington Hills was not helpful either, her boss defended her actions of her firing us as her clients… but said we had to stay with CENTURY 21 Today… another wtf for the books? (Yes, I feel great being represented by an agency that doesn’t believe I am serious about buying a house… that is who I want to be my buyers agent… Seriously wtf were they thinking?)
We finally get untangled from the contract and so we start all over… find a whole new agent and agency…5 days searching with a new agent, who had a great attitude, we find a house and close on it. Looking back now, I can’t even imagine how much time and energy we wasted working with Mary. I don’t feel she understood our needs as buyers and I feel like A LOT of time and effort was wasted.

Awesome Realtor. Very sharp and detail oriented. If you live in the area, you should definitely have her help you buy or sell your home. She’s efficient, calls you back quickly, has good knowledge of the situation, and gets everything done quickly. We just bought a house through her, and when we sell and buy the next house — we definitely plan on working with her again.

Mary was a GREAT realtor. We just bought a house with Mary and she was extremely organized and worked hard to find us a good deal.
She was very patient, never rushing us to any decisions and showed us numerous homes before we found the one we wanted.
Once we found our house, she advised us on an offer and then did some research on comparable square footage prices in the area, which helped us make the best offer. she also pulled info from the local assessors office to see what the assessed value was.
Once we were ready to close, Mary went through EACH document with us, explaining what it was. She found a $ 100 charge the seller’s title company was trying to charge us and made them take it off. Me likes that!
Anyway, I highly recommend Mary Rettig if you are looking for a Realtor in the Detroit area. She was great for us and I’m sure she’ll do a great job for you.
