At Total Dental Fitness, we can take care of everyone’s dental needs. We treat you as one of our family members. Our patients range from infants to age 102! Whether it’s a simple cleaning, orthodontics, periodontal treatment, or an in depth cosmetic makeover; we make sure that every family member gets the appropriate treatment they deserve.

History

Established in 1996.

Dr. Maylath graduated from the University of Detroit Dental School in 1987. Upon graduation he completed a General Practice Residency, and then established Total Dental Fitness in 1996.

Business Owner

A native of Michigan, Dr. Maylath earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Kalamazoo College. He then moved on to the University of Detroit School of Dentistry where he served his last two years as class President. Upon graduation from Dental School, Dr. Maylath completed a General Practice Residency. Each year he takes many hours of continuing education courses to stay up to date on the latest dental advancements. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.

My experience with Dr. Maylath and the staff at Total Dental Fitness has been incredibly positive and accommodating. I’m 59 years old, and I’ve seen my fair share of dentists around the world. Dr. Maylath rates at the very top of this list.
The most obvious trait that sets Dr. Maylath apart from many other dentists is his obvious care for the patient. He has a calming demeanor, and he explains everything that he is going to do before, and while, he is doing it.
Dr. Maylath stays abreast of the latest technologies related to dental care. I’m a real baby when it comes to dental pain, and I recently had a cavity filled without Novocain, for the first time in my life. Dr. Maylath used a laser to remove the existing filling and decay, and the experience was as close to pain free as I ever would have expected from a dentist.
The bottom line is that Dr. Maylath is a first rate dentist who places his patient’s care at the highest priority. In my opinion, you cannot find a better dentist in the southeast Michigan area.

I would highly recommend Dr. Maylath to anyone looking for good dental care. We live out of state and were visiting relatives in Birmingham when my son fell off a bike and knocked out a permanent front tooth. It was after 7pm on a Friday night. My relatives contacted Dr. Maylath on his emergency number and he agreed to meet us at his office. He put my son’s tooth back in and gave him great care. Dr. Maylath went way above and beyond our expectations considering we weren’t his regular patients.
