We went here last Saturday because we were craving for some filipino food, we sat down and literally waited 10 minutes for the waiter to pick up our order and they were not that busy at all, I had to get up and talk to him to take our order. Veery bad customer service and the owner was a little snobbish. Food was okay, not fantastic. We ordered kare kare which was very watery, not much flavor. Their pancit canton was okay, dinuguan which we ordered from the turo turo was good. Leche flan was good too. All in all i would come back if i’m really craving for filipino food but they really really have to work on their customer service.

Its very expensive. The grab and go stuff that they have has no price. Soup cost $ 11 per order. Not worth it

You have to get to know the owner to understand the meticulousness on how the menu are prepared. Perfect food and very tasty. The place is really something to bring your friends and love ones. You will keep coming back.

First time having Filipino food outside of a friend’s home. The place is run by a family so you know it’s authentic food. There is no menu up yet online so you need to go in to order. The selection is good and the food is tasty. Try the mini rolls.

Great food, and great service! They have dine in as well as a little grocery section to pick up some specialty foods. Great Filipino food

This review is for take out only. I had 1 order of kare kare, 3 skewers of pork bbq stick($ 3 per stick), 2 orders of white rice, and sizzling sisig to go. Picked it up after almost 45 minutes of calling in. The total was $ 39. Everything is good, and even if the sisig is not sizzling since I had it to go, its still very crunchy and very tasty. The kare kare which is normally accompanied with shrimp paste on the side somehow didn’t come with it,(thank God, I have one container at home,) but it has oxtails, tripe, eggplant, haricot vert in peanut base sauce is not greasy at all. For $ 12.95, I think it’s very reasonable. The bbq skewers are average but of reasonable portion. To be honest, Bistro Filipino can give the Queens neighborhood of Filipino restaurants a run for their money. They also offer ready cooked Filipino foods in the counter, about 10 selection, some Filipino dessert packed, and snacks. I just wish they have a website, and a menu posted will be very helpful.

I swear, Filipino’s are so critical!!! Whoever wrote the comment about«business ethics», you know, the one who ordered the 3 food trays … Here is a business ethic for you to «chomp» on … Why don’t you cater your OWN party ! I don’t know the owners of the restaurant or the waitors/waitresses, but every time my family goes there to dine, I’ve had nothing but great experiences. The person waiting on us has always been courteous and prompt In bringing out our order. The restaurant is always clean and the bathrooms are pretty damn impressive. Now let’s talk about the food … I am a Filipina born and raised in America that unfortunately does NOT know how to cook any Filipino dishes. I find the food to be pretty darn good here. I’m a picky eater as it is and everything Ive tried there is so delicious. The atmosphere here is very relaxed and when we have needed anything extra or simply the bill we just motion or spoke up loudly to the waitor/waitresses that we need something and our needs are brought to us. This is not a 5 star restaurant nor is it the culinary institute of America, so DONOT expect to get that type of formality in service. I mean really … Please get to know the restaurants and their atmosphere and contain your expectations accordingly… This being said by a person who dines out almost every night!

This is a legit Filipino spot. Honestly its hard to find good Filipino eateries, especially one with accurate dishes made by actual Filipinos! The staff was friendly and the food was really good. This place was a gem. If you are anywhere near the area come here you won’t be disappointed.

This star is for customer service. I placed an order over the phone for 3 trays of food, and arranged for my cousin to pick up on the day of our family BBQ. The person taking my order quoted my total as HALF of what I was actually charged on my credit card. My reasons for thinking they need a lesson in business ethics: 1/There is not a catering menu on their website, so there’s no way to know the prices, no accountability. 2/I tried to call for a week to reconcile the situation. No one answered the phone. 3/I tried to email, but it got bounced back to me. There’s no email address on the website either. 4/Finally I got someone on the phone, and she offered no apology for the mistake. There was a mathematical error, which I can understand, but I don’t need to be told«do your math» and«God will be the judge of this situation.» 5/the person on the phone told me they«don’t need my business.» Okay.

Totally legit Filipino food. Normally I just cook Filipino dishes when I’m in the mood but we were having a party for 70 so decided to try them. Kathy was super nice and accommodating despite the fact that we ordered everything only a few days in advance. We ordered veggie lumpia, lumpia shanghai, bangus(baked fish), chicken satay, fried rice, turon, kutsinta and ube. We had a mix of Filipinos and non-Filipinos and everyone was happy. The turon was in a mini size, absolutely adorable and perfect for a party. The lumpia were also good and while the chicken skewers weren’t the BBQ style I thought I had ordered(believe it was my mistake, not theirs), they were still delicious. I honestly didn’t get a chance to taste the bangus or veggie fried rice because everything went so quickly but guests raved about the fish. My one regret was not getting the lechon(whole roasted pig) from them. We had already ordered it through another caterer when I found Bistro Filipino. And the only reason I’m giving 4 stars and not 5 is that I haven’t yet dined in or tried the other Filipino staples. I’ll definitely be back to try the adobo, kare kare, sinigang, sisig, crispy pata and dinaguan at the restaurant. Salamat po Kathy & Bistro Filipino!

I love this place. I live in Greenwich CT and drive over the Tappan Zee Bridge just to get my fill of Filipino food from here. Their crispy pata and Lechon kawali are my favorite and so is their pinakbet. Reminds me of home, that being LA.

The 2 stars are for customer service addressed to the waiters & owner. Our last visit, my husband & I took our pastor to have a taste of good Filipino food and experience warm hospitality — but sadly disappointed we received a snobbish treatment — The owner wanted to charge me for 3 halo halo when i only asked for 1– to share with 3 ppl. It’s a simple misunderstanding by the waiter– should not be charged to customers bill; and it’s the owners choice to write-off expense or give to the next customer. But instead she’d rather have me pay when we only ate 1. Another point I want to share — to the servers– you’re quick at taking orders but you don’t return to check on customers if we need anything, or if we’re done we’re waiting for you the waiter to approach our table. Amazing it’s the customers that wait on waiters! 3 visits here, each time I had to go up to the owner to ask for my bill /pay, while other customers(all pinoys), get their bill and pay at their table. What’s up with that?

I’ve been here quite a couple of times and I have to say that their food is really delicious. I love their halo-halo– one of the best I’ve had from all the Filipino restaurants I’ve been to. Their pork sisig is really delicious as well! Tons of crunchy pork bits and onions. Mmm. Besides that– I’ve tried their lechon kawaii once which had fresh crispy pork and was really good aswell. The service is friendly and I always come back when I’m in the mood for Filipino.

0 star if I could. Found this place on Unilocal when I called to inquire online menu, I was informed they could email it instead. 10 minutes passed without the menu emailed when I called back to ensure they had the correct email address. The same lady I spoke with answered and responded with an attitude«give me 30 minutes!!!» Ummmmm… Annoyed, I explained I wanted to order sooner, hence the reason why I called back to check on the menu. «Ok I’ll try!» Then she hung up. Granted the email was received shortly after, but I am completely turned off and annoyed by the rudeness, disrespect and unprofessionalism from this so called«family» diner. The 5 star reviews are probably written by family and friends, or written by the owners/servers themselves. The«real» reviews from«real» people strengthens the poor customer service allegations considering I did not proceed with ordering. I refused to even spend a penny on this place!!! In today’s day and age, poor service is inexcusable. Shame on them and shame on the ‘fake’ excellent –service reviews!

If you want to try great authentic Filippino food, without having to fly to Manila, this is a perfect choice :-) Excellent food, great service, helpful staff, and super clean. We ordered the KAREKARE, a traditional Fillipino dish of oxtail and tripe in a peanut stew, and loved it. The owner was really friendly and made us feel at home. Can’t wait to go back for more !!!

Place is not as big which is the only downer. BUT it all makes up for the delicious filipino food! Our food consisted of crispy pata, kare kare, bulalo, pancit bihon, and sisig. It was all AMAZING! wonderful flavor and taste. I am definitely going to come back here again. And as for dessert, the halo halo was to die for and no words can describe how delicious the leche flan was. The sago(filipino drink) was delightful as well! I love this place! Will definitely be back here again. p. s. It is a little expensive, depending on the type of food you get. but it’s not THAT bad. Also, portions are somewhat big so if you go with family or a couple of friends the price point isn’t as bad as you think!

I got to give props to a friendly family place. Literally a family place… mom cooked, daughter was wait-staff/general helper and dad was waiter. A very slow night when I was there my family was one of only two tables. The soup was fantastic, the beef stew was great especially for a non-pinoy diner who wanted a little Filipino flavor without going to the fried chunks of pork that can break a tooth extreme. The Lumpia Shanghai(Spring Rolls) were a little overcooked and a little on the small side but VERY flavorful. The fried pusit(squid) was also slightly over-cooked but also flavorful and the pansit was a hit with my daughter. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but it’s got a really homey atmosphere and solid food.

After a long day at the outlet, what a better way to end an exhausting day than to have some flip food. This is our go to place — clean, really good food and plenty of parking —(unlike the places in Queens). Anything and everything from the menu has all been yummy!!! And of course, don’t forget to save some room for the halo halo!
