I am thrilled to be the first to review the Blairstown Animal Hospital. I used to go horseback riding in the area and developed a friendship with a family that has many farm animals. They used the Blairstown Animal Hospital for their dogs, cats, horses and I think even their goats. When my cat showed signs of bloating and respiratory distress I was unable to find a vet on a Saturday in Manhattan that could take my cat. When I called Blairstown I was able to speak directly with one of the 5 or 6 full time vets who encouraged me to bring her in right away. This Animal Hospital is a 75 minute drive from NYC but I just jumped in the car with the sick kitty and off we went. Gwen, my cat, spent 6 or 7 days in the hospital. I got a phone call every night from the Vet with a progress report. They considered every test and checked with me about what I could afford. She had 3 or 4 x-rays, a couple MRI’s, exploratory surgery and almost a week stay in the hospital with 2 biopsys and the cost was under $ 2000 including the medications I needed to provide her and her follow up appointments. She made a complete recovery and I was able to afford it. I honestly think any Manhattan Vet would’ve cost me well over $ 5,000 and probably closer to $ 10,000. I did not have that money. Gwen has been symptom free for almost 2 years now. And I have the staff at Blairstown Animal Hospital to thank. And it is the entire team from the front desk, to the vet tech to the Vets. Thank you. I thoroughly recommend their full service hospital and surgical team.
