The YMCA Thrift Shop has many quality items and so many people go there frequently that if you like something, you need to get it when you see it. Figure if you like it, someone else probably will also, and there is a good chance they will buy it before you make up your mind. Friendly, helpful staff. Some of the other thrift stores in the area have airborn chemicals/odors that make me sneeze within 3 minutes of entering the store. That does not happen at the Y. Also, the items on display at the Y seem to be cleaner overall than they are at a couple of the other thrift stores. This also is a completely locally run operation, local people donating to and buying from local people. The hours of operation are terrific. Great that they recycle electronics, batteries, and many household trash items. It is part of their mission to keep things reused and then recycled. Plus, the funds raised go right back into the local community!

Blacksburg has so much turnover every year so there is lots of used furniture, this is the place to find it.
