IMO, best place in Blacksburg.
Great bar food, great staff and great drinks.
Staff is friendly as hell and are some of the only bartenders in Blacksburg that will talk to you.
Try the Fish and Chips combined with a Long Island Iced Tea. It is heaven.

Really tasty but poor service. They don’t employ enough staff to make for an enjoyable experience. We’ve been here for two hours and just now getting appetizer. It’s good, though!

Gotta give this pub a solid 4⁄5 because its what a pub should be — funky, a little stale and smelly, darts, huge old saloon bar, strong pour and good food. We were tourists and popped in for a night — great bar service as we were drinking double bourbons. Excellent! Met some very nice people and enjoyed some great conversation. Its a college town — I get it. We are old women, but never were we uncomfortable. Ordered a pepperoni pizza to go — frankly one of the best pizzas in a long time. Stop by, hang out. Good place. Appeared to have a full menu and full bar.

This is a dive. That was a compliment in case you were wondering. Interesting beer selections, pub food, nice hang. Best bar in the world? Probably not, but for a place for a couple of pints and grub with friends, definitely this place is ok.

Great place to get away from the college crowd. Their specials are fresh cooked. The soups are made from scratch. The bartenders really enjoy their craft making unique drinks and taking pride in their craft. The food specials are very good with a homemade flair and the chili is always different but always good. It takes a little bit to get used to their system of ordering at the bar but once you know how it works everything is cool. The staff is really a good group. Each has a different perspective. The most fun thing that they offer is the Saturday brunch, live music no cover delicious food I love huevos ranchers gourmet coffee and bloody Mary’s. Their is way too much to list here. Check it out.

The pub is wonderful. A lot of the menu is typical bar food, but the quality is actually very good. I love the seasonal cocktail list because it shows that the bartenders really care about producing new and interesting drinks. The crowd is typically a bit older and more town than campus oriented, which I find to be a nice relief.

Very cool, relaxing place for a pub. Not five stars in book because of the service. Good service but it took the wait staff too long to attend to people at the bar. It was dead and sometimes they would be just talking. It isn’t a huge deal because when they did take care of you, they did it well

I like this place. Good Pub food, not a greasy mess like a lot of places, and they play old movies on the screen in back. Games and local folk. Pretty good music too, not lady gaga and Katy Perry. I’m old. ha

Recommended by the hotel concierge. Nice atmosphere. Mostly locals. I don’t cook my own corned beef but I respect those that do. The rueben had me at hello. And the onion rings melt in your mouth. Kudos to the cooks! We will be back.

One of my favorite secrets of Blacksburg. Great pub food. I love the bacon onion marmalade burger. I also love the crawfish app, the muffaletta, and the pub special. On weekends I love the English breakfast, their beans are homemade and have a nice spice to them. The potato casserole is also a treat. And the coffee is something special. Nice and dark and flavorful. Roasted locally.
Good selection of beers and I was happy to see the new addition of Parkway Get Bent Mountain IPA. Nice to support a good local brewery!
I enjoy the staff, they are good people. The bacon, burger and sausage are all local and top quality. If you haven’t been here before I would highly recommend it.

Stopped in for lunch today. The staff was nice and just attentive enough. The drinks are reasonably priced and they have a very good beer selection. The food is great. The fish and chips were very good, the chili is a must have, and they have the best grilled cheese I’ve ever eaten. If they have the Italian sausage and tomato soup, it is also a must have. It is a very good blend of English Pub with some American Bar mixed in. They have pub quiz nights and dart tournaments as well.

Popped in one afternoon as I was walking by for a pint and was made very welcome by the staff here. It was quiet at the time, but I understand it gets very busy in the evening.
I didn’t try any of the food, so can’t comment on that, but was impressed with the dart boards.
As the name would suggest, this is a happy blend of English pub and American bar.

Best place in Blacksburg to play darts, get good drinks, and get away from the typical college bar crowd. The food is great, especially the fish and chips. If you have a chance, get there for brunch and order the chicken and waffles.

Stopped in with two friends after the Va. Tech-​Pittsburgh game last night, enjoyed a plate of 18 of some of the best Buffalo wings we’ve ever had. Heat level both temperature– and spicy-​wise were right on. A pitcher of Bells Two Hearted Ale was a great complement to the wings. Bartenders were very accommodating, changing up a TV to our game of choice. Will be back next time I’m in Blacksburg.

Love the beer selection, love the dart lanes, love that it’s mostly locals (even on game weekends). Have eaten here in the past and loved it. Also saw that they have English breakfast on the weekends which I will have to try next time!

We made our first visit to the Underground on a Saturday night. The beer selection was awesome and the average age for the crowd was over twenty-​five. My wife had burger and fries, I had a sub, and we split an order of onion rings. Everything was good, especially the onion rings. The food had that certain something that tells you that the kitchen staff taste the food and care about doing a good job.
Overall, the atmosphere was great. We could converse without shouting and the bartenders were attentive and competent. We’ll definitely be coming back.

A bar, bar with 4 ‘professional style’ dart boards/​alleys and few high tables with other seats at the bar. Big selection of beers/​ales. I had a decent plain hamburger with chips and a good cool draft.
