Old frozen gluten free bread– shameful for a resturant in an area where you can get fresh loaves delivered to your home. Got turkey melt per bartenders advice– turkey was dry, one slice of old tomato, and prefrozen fries… Oh and the bottled sodas were flat. After trying two I opted for a can of root beer which was also flat. Save your money… $ 12 for a lunch that most ended up in the garbage. Only give 2 stars as bartender was apologetic and kind.

Some of the best sandwiches around. I gulped it down faster than Leonardo Dicaprio eating twigs in the Revenant.

Stopped for dinner on our way through the mountains. Absolutely delicious! Good food, good beer selection, nice patio. We intended on ordering to go because we have our dog with us, but the owner was happy to let him join us on the patio. The turkey for the turkey melt was smoked in-house, and it looked and tasted fresh. The chips and potato salad were on point, and house made as well. We just found our go-to spot when traveling between Tennessee and North Carolina!

Best sandwiches ever! They smoke meat on site! And great veggie sandwiches too. Todd is usually there, always friendly!

The tilapia Reuben is an incredible sandwich. It’s the only thing I eat there and the desire to eat it comes often. I think I tried the chicken sandwich once and it was good but the tilapia is it! The service is friendly. A nice pub with great outdoor seating area on the right day.

I just moved to black mountain and thought I would try this place. I’ve only been in once and probably won’t go back. I ordered a shrimp salad sandwich that cost over $ 10 and it was at best a $ 4 sandwich. It was a very small sandwich and seemed more like a sloppy joe than shrimp salad. When placing the order the waitress didn’t ask what choice of side I wanted, Some time later, I mention to her that it came with a side and ordered the side of potato salad which was plain and tasted okay, but amounted to about a tablespoon in quantity. To make a long and bad story short, I actually walked out of there feeling like I’d been scammed.

Rubin and French Dip — Like most other reviews on this and other sites say. Not friendly and extremely slow. Ordered 2 sandwiches, only 5 or 5 other people there and they were eating so they were not busy, too at least 30 min to get food. It came just as I was getting up to walk out. Sandwich was good but small, half a hoagie bun because it just had one rounded end, the other was cut.

My husband and I went to Todd’s for lunch. We ordered the steak and cheese sandwich to share since it was a late lunch to hold us over before dinner. We sat at the bar and the gentleman took a rag and cleaned the counter where we sat. He then cleaned other tables, cashed customers out and then went into the kitchen to assist the cook preparing food. We know because we sat right in front of the door to the kitchen and watched as he didn’t even wash his hands or put on gloves prior to reaching into the potato chip bag and putting them in the food basket. He then took bread out for the cook to place the hot dog on the bun also with her hands that had handled multiple other items. Me. No I would never go back and have them prepare food for my husband and I to eat.

Went there based on the reviews here. It seemed like a nice option for a light lunch and different from all the other restaurants in the area so we tried it. The place is located in a strip mall away from downtown so if you’re looking for ambiance, this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for basic sandwich/bar fare, then this is a decent option. I ordered the spicy chicken club. Even though the sandwich didn’t live up to its«spicy» name, it was delicious. The«spiced» homemade potato chips were not spiced at all and just tasted like dry potato. My wife ordered the turkey melt, and there was nothing«melt» about it. Turkey and bread were dry, and there was no condiment and not enough cheese to merit the title«melt.» The side salad was very fresh and delicious. I’m giving them a bit of grace since we went there at an off peak time(Sunday around 12) and we were the only ones there. I also don’t think it’s fair to judge on one experience so I gave it 3 stars. I would recommend this to others if they’re just looking for something quick and simple. Definitely not something you should expect to blow your mind.

Had a nice lunch on the patio with family. Couple of issues with the menu, our group ordered two sandwiches that on the menu were supposed to be «grilled». One was a grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Actually is was toasted bread with pb&j. Not even close to what a grilled would have been. Another order was the turkey«melt» which we requested to be hot and pressed. it was a tiny bit pressed but not hot and not melted. Waitress was ok, had to ask several times for items we had ordered and hadn’t received. We all agreed if they can adhere to what the menu says, it could be a nice place for a good lunch. We will wait to hear from others before we return.

Been here twice and will be back again. Delicious sandwiches and reasonable prices. They have a good selection to chose from and the staff is very nice! So far I’ve had the cheese steak and burger — both yum yum. P. S. — it’s actually called Todd’s Sandwich Shop & Pub(not Todd’s Joint)

Probably the best sandwich I’ve ever had! It was beautiful and tasted even better, with great service. Check it out!
