Sunday, Oct. 25th, 2015 at about 1:15PM. My family of six walked in and we were greeted with scowls and dirty looks. We asked if there were tables available towards the back and we’re told by staff«Go check for yourselves». We sat for five minutes and nobody acknowledged our existence. Shitty customer service and I’ll never go back.

Love this little family diner. Great food, huge portions for decent price. The service is always friendly.

This busy little local diner is a favorite! The food is always hot and fresh and portions are substantial! They make a great classic burger and breakfast can be ordered all day. If you like hasbrowns, try the Melt Dawn! Vegans can be happily fulfilled with their Avocado Sandwich or Veggie Crêpe. And the plate sized Chicken Fried Steak(or Chicken!) will soothe any southern soul. No, it isn’t an expensive chophouse, it’s a much loved local diner where the food is good and the hometown atmosphere is warm and friendly.

My family loved it. Everything was great. Service was wonderful. Our grandpa likes to eat there all the time. I love that he can go there, be treated good and get a great meal since our grandmother passed.

everything was over salted and gravy wasn’t done cooking, the best thing I had was the milk. The wait time was horrible too and the place was only at about 35% capacity when I was there.

I always look for a café in a small town. It’s wear locals eat so it has a fun friendly atmosphere. Apple Barrel was busy on a Sunday, served great food, heaping helpings, nice staff, and THE best mashed potatoes I’ve ever eaten. It was a great find after a long drive.

Maybe it’s because I’m in my early 20s and this place looks like it belongs in the early ‘20s, but I’m not a fan. Nothing about it makes it stand out from any other run of the mill diners. The service is fine. However, the last time I went the restaurant was filthy. A vacuum cleaner goes a long way. As far as Bixby goes, maybe this is as good as it gets. If that’s true, I’ll steer clear of Bixby next time.

Just your typical home town diner. The service is great. I come here for breakfast almost once a week and we always have a great time! Ham and cheese omelet is always a favorite and they have a plate called the Dawn Melt that’s huge and very very good!

Awful, awful, awful! Our table of four got our food at three different times, my apple bacon salad had only four slices of apple on it and fake bacon bits on the top, the waitress had no idea what was going on and didn’t even apologize while we sat there waiting for our food. What the hell happened to this place? We asked for the manager and our waitress told us «he’ll be out when he gets a second». He never came. When we asked again she said«he’ll meet you up at the counter if you want to talk to him». Really… I mean, REALLY? When we finally talked to the«manager» he wasn’t even a manager but some cook that worked in the back. He actually said to us «If the food was so bad, why are your plates empty?»…they were empty because we were STARVING by then dude and it was eight o’clock at night and there was no way in hell that I was going to get up and go someplace else after waiting for them to get there shit together. SO, that being said, Simon Smith(we were told he is the ACTUAL owner) you should be mortified by this evenings’ events. Oh, and you owe me $ 30 for a wasted evening… cheers!

Me and my coworkers have breakfast here at least once a week. It is pretty standard diner fare… I’ve had better… I’ve had worse. The food is always good and cooked to order. The true gem of this place is the one of the friendliest and attentive staffs I’ve ever seen. Great people working at this place… always make you smile.

This is a great place for breakfast and lunch! Big portions of some of the best quality food you will find in a diner like this. Staff is friendly and hard-working. Salads are huge. When I’m out and about with one of the kids, I’ll take them here. It’s convenient, south of the river, close to schools. I’ll go back again and again.

Great neighborhood gem. Food and service exceeded expectations for a little diner in Oklahoma. I had a veggie crêpe and it was fantastic. Ample veggies, well cooked, and a delicious hollandaise. A table nearby was even jealous that they didn’t order my dish because it looked so good. My friends ordered breakfast chicken fried steak and the portion was huge. Great value for the price and they said it was very good. If I am ever back in Oklahoma I will add this to my list of places to stop.

Cold breakfast, soft boiled eggs-hard; toast cold, home fries — warm but over done. Hot chocolate with whipped cream good

This kind of place is why people live here. It’s waitstaff is friendly and warm, and the food… my good Lord… the food. Comfort food has never been more cozy. My wife prefers the roast beef, while I am more than partial to their steak and eggs. Paired with their hashbrowns and bacon cooked to just the right crispness, this place is country home awesomeness. And all for around 15 bucks a couple.
