Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews

I love the décor of this place, the theme and uniforms are simply adorable. There is a wide array of burgers to choose from, I love the variety and uniqueness of the menu. I had really high hopes for this place. I opted for a mushroom and swiss turkey burger with avacado and onions. Sweet potato fries for my side. At almost 13 bucks I wouldve been happier with a value meal from wendys next door. I love the theme, but the underseasoned turkey burger was simply nothing special, definitely not worth the hype.

50 different brews and 50 different burgers. Not alot of choices in bismark so this was a nice find.

Really good burgers and extensive beers on tap. Screw McDonalds! If you are passing through or staying over, take the time to hit this place. My mushroom Swiss with sweet potato fries were great… along with a local brew. Nice break from the road. My husband had a burger with fried jalapeños, buffalo sauce, and pepper jack cheese. I think he’s glad I talked him out of gross McDs. I like to support small local businesses… and this one is worth it.

Stopped by to get a quick snack.
I ordered lemon pepper boneless wings and sweet fries. I got soft fried wings, light seasoning and regular fries. Not really worth the 13+ aaking price.
The waitresses were friendly and seemed to have genuine relationships with the regulars. They were really attentive.

Love getting the half off appetizers here during happy hour! I’ve had the tantalizing tots and the garbage fries and both were super good. Garbage fries came on a huge pizza tin and could probably feed 3 – 4 people!

Solid but does not lived up to all the hype. I did enjoy my meal for lunch. Prompt and attentive service for just after the lunch rush. Took our order right away. I ordered an coffee malt it arrived quickly but it doesn’t look any darker than your regular vanilla malt. Its real hardy ice cream malt. But as a heavy coffee drinker– I couldn’t taste the coffee at all. The waitress offered me an extra shot of coffee flavoring which helped but perhaps coffee flavor ice cream instead of the super rich vanilla would be a better choice. I order the philly burger for entrée, the patty itself was delicious, just the right amount of fat, however the rest of the burger was left to fend for itself: the green pepper and onion was undercooked and under seasoned. There wasn’t enough provolone to bind and meld with the mushroom. Perhaps it was my fault for ordering the lunch portion. Ill just have to try something else the next time. PS* the sweet potato fries almost made up for the lack luster burger.

I was talked into going here today. I was hesitant — it’s called «Sickie’s» after all. I was very pleasantly surprised. The menu has a wide variety of burgers and sandwich fare. We had a party of six, so we got a big sampling of what was offered. The sweet potato fires were great. The fish and chips was good, but could have used more fish. The monte cristo sandwich was all that it is supposed to be. Though I didn’t partake of any beer today, the just crazy deep selection made me want some. Service was happy and helpful and attentive. We all left happy and we will go back.

Great service and very fast. Drinks and appetizer where out right away and appetizer was a very good sized portion. Burgers came out very quickly, where well cooked with unique flavor. All together a good experience and would go back.

Had the reuben. High hopes, but Sickies didn’t bring their A game.
Had two slices of corned beef on each side, crumpled to look like more. so much bread. they need to revamp this one!
Meat was not flavorful and thinly sliced. Top 2 for worst reuben in town.
Cheese curds were overbooked, i liked them. a co worker didn’t.
I do however love some of their burgers!

The place was packed for dinner but we managed to get a table right away. It doesn’t look that big from the outside, but there is a lot of seating inside and on the patio. The server was friendly and attentive and helped my husband pick out a good, local, «hoppy» beer (don’t remember the name — sorry!). I ordered the Glazed Donut Burger and my husband had the Tater Tot Hotdish burger. They were both really good. Normally I like my burgers more well done and my husband likes them really pink (still mooing) and these were on the well side.
The décor is fun and it’s a little silly that they have televisions everywhere without closed captioning on — it’s so loud from just the noise of the restaurant that they can’t be heard.
Both the burger and beer menus are big with plenty to choose from. It’s kid friendly, too. Our two year old was impressed that he got a little box of crayons to keep.
We had planned on going back but it didn’t work out with the time we had in Bismarck.

We tried out this place not long after it opened, and recently tried it again.
The first time I ordered a turkey burger with avocado and extras. The turkey burger was undercooked and tasted like catfood. The service was on the low side of nothing special. The wait staff and hostesses seem like they have no urge to be working and would rather just gossip than attend to their customers. At least the beer was good.
The second time we went back hoping that they’d gotten some of those «new restaraunt» kinks worked out. Hostesses were better. The waitress seemed like she had no idea what was going on. We put in our drink order and had her come back a while later to tell us that our beer selection was no longer available. We then put in our food order and were told that the burger that my son wanted was no longer being made. It would have been nice if someone had taken the time to tell us that before we sat down or go through the menu’s and make some sort of change. I finally opted for a pizza burger with boneless buffalo wings. The pizza burger was dry and overcooked, the boneless wings were chewy and nothing special, and again the service was not great. I highly doubt the fries are «fresh cut» like they say. But again, at least the beer was good.

I read a lot of reviews about bad or marginal service. Sure didn’t see it today! Our servers were attentive, pleasant, and efficient! Looking around it was obvious others were getting the same high level of service. Apps were good, burgers were very good. Fries-​meh but overall I would definitely return and recommend to othjers.

Burger was very tender and prepared well. I had the sickies burger with onion rings. Rings were done very well as was the burger. The 7 others with agree the food was very good but service needed help tonight.

Fast and great service, really good burgers. Huge menu with a lot of choices. TV’s everywhere and it seems a good place to eat and/​or drink a little while watching your favorite team play. Will go back for sure.

Meh, burger was well… Meh, not horrible. Fantastic selection of beer! Service was top notch! One thing though; if a place like this has to charge .79 for a side of BBQ sauce on top of a $ 10 burger they are doing it wrong! Three stars for service! (Food can piggyback on the service) walking distance to the hotel should get half a star but, yeah meh.

Good beer and grub. Wait staff is awesome. Corey that works here is great. Always had a full beer and attention. Will come here in the future.

This place has a nice beer selection and a huge variety of bugers. I love the fun, casual atmosphere!

They screwed up more of the order than they got right. Cold food when it was correct. Couldn’t get a server to stop at our table. Luckily the hostess and the beer were nice. Hope they can get it together, nice location and theme.

I came late and sat at the bar. The burger was very good but I ordered gets as a side. I got over a pound of frys. They were stale and soggy at the same time. I ate a couple and then decided to just enjoy my burger. I gave my server the plate of frys back and the server took them and never asked if I had an issue with them. Even though I gave him a huge mound of frys back. The music is loud and my server was clueless. K sat at the bar for 20 minutes waiting for my tab and the bar was almost empty

Sickies has a good sports bar type atmosphere and a great selection of beers and apps. But if you are going to be a restaurant that touts great burgers and you better have pretty dang good burgers! Sickies falls vastly short in this area! The bun and toppings were great but the all the burger patties our table received were like they had just been dropped off from McDonalds! We had high hopes for this place in the first 20 min but the burger patties were a joke for a $ 10 burger!
The Good: beer selection, malts, and appetizers.
The Bad: Burger meat/​patties were terrible. Small, looked frozen not fresh, and tasted unseasoned. Disappointing for a $ 10 burger!
