Absolute Gun Dogs

Great place! Dogs get wonderful care, exercise, and a clean, comfortable kennel. My dog came home healthy and tired from his stay.

Hands down best boarding kennel around. We have taken our dogs there several times and they LOVE IT! Dan Murray and his employees treat your pet as if it was there own.

We brought our dogs with our travels, and found it extremely difficult to accommodate 2 dogs while in the area.
We called Absolute Gun Dogs, and they were more than happy to accommodate our dogs for the next couple days. The facility is about 20 min out of town, but it’s a great isolated area which makes sense. And while the main focus of theirs is dog training/​breeding, they have a beautiful boarding facility as well– the grounds were kept clean and presentable. When we came to pick up the pups we were greeted by the owner, who gave us a quick summary of their stay and interactions with our fur family (proving they pay great attention to your pet). Really, my only complaint was that it was cash only. Other than that, it was a great experience!

They are mostly known for the breeding, training, and kenneling of their dogs for hunting. But they also have a great doggy day care program.
From 8 – 5 m-​sat and 12 – 6 on sunday you can have your dog spend the day running and playing with a variety of other dogs. They actually pay attention to which dogs are fixed, not fixed, in heat or not and what size they get along best with. I have two overly energized bulldogs and they play better with bigger dogs, I didn’t even have to tell them that, they just figured it out. They know the dogs they watch so well they can point out which ones are fixed and which aren’t. Plus they know the temperament of all the dogs so you never have to worry about your dog getting into a fight with another dog. My dogs come home EXHAUSTED after the day at doggy day care.
Recently took a trip to Tahoe to see family and left my dogs with them. They did fantastic, they kept my dogs entertained with other dogs and even took them out running every now and then. Totally worth the $ 24/​night/​dog. As long as you pick your dog (s) up before 1pm they only charge you for the night, after that you’ll be billed as though they stayed an extra night. The best part about kenneling your dog with them is that they have an awesome facility. The place is always clean and the dogs are well taken care of there. Sidenote, they sell PVC/​vinyl dog beds. If you have a chewer… buy the bed. It’s lasted us almost 6 months now with no sign of wear or tear. My dogs have chewed through and destroyed EVERY OTHER BED ON THE MARKET! Even the Kong ones. This bed, they just love, so it’s totally worth the cost!
