Specialties

We offer our Local, grassfed, all natural Bishop raised beef upon request, with delicious Certified Angus beef as our standard. Both are excellent, and of high quality. We also have many Gluten Free options and Vegetarian choices, please ask any of our knowledgable staff to see what we have available for you– we have too many specialty items to list on our daily menu, and can generally accommodate most requests. This time of year we serve as much locally grown organic produce as we can, and you can taste the difference! Thank you Bishop Creek Farm for your high quality organic produce! Enjoy!

History

Established in 2012.

Sean moved to the high Sierras over a decade ago-​leaving his Los Angeles engineering/​IT job to pursue a life of climbing, fishing, camping, skiing and hiking. Under the guidance of friends and mentors at Rock Creek Lodge he honed his culinary skills. Travelling Europe and Napa for inspiration he delighted with the idea of bringing intimate, rustic, and responsiblely produced meals to the Sierras. The goal was simple-​Homemade, delicious meals served at honest prices. Luck smiled on Sean and his wife Chris, as the Bishop Burger Barn was then vacant. Our town’s farmers and ranchers offered us friendships and partnerships, and the people enjoyed our food, friends told friends, and The Bishop Burger Barn continues to serve great, wholesome food at fair prices to grateful, oft returning guests. We give back to our community through scholarships, fundraisers, and operate our business in an eco-​conscious manner. We hope to continue to improve and evolve our Barn’s potential. Chef, Hippie at heart, passionate and dedicated to our dogs Kate and Mr. Wiggles,(and cat Jewels).Intrigued by all things food related, intensely creative with food, determined to make meals the right way. If now we make burgers we will make the best, freshest burgers we can. Specials are his specialty. He enjoys Asian and French cusines in particular, and likes experimenting with cured meats, homemade cheeses, and sharing his knowledge. Sean is a charming and patient husband to me and is as good a person and team player as they come. His practical jokes and humor keep work entertaining a well!
