By far the worst service ive ever had, took an 30 min to get our order taken, and a hour to receive cold food. And we never got any of the bevs we ordered. Server did not give a flying f ck. Sucks they put all this corporate trash in fuve points. Thanks birmingham for killing our onve awesome main hub of the city.

Went there one morning with my mother. It was empty. But, the service was good. Food was good. I don’t like that they changed the jukeboxes. I miss the old time jukeboxes. I guess times have to change. Good place to check out

Worst waffle house on earth. Took 45 minutes to cook terrible food. Waffle tasted like a burnt sponge and eggs were half cooked. Was told they didnt have anymore«to go» silverware and had to eat with my hands like some kind of animal. Should be renamed Waffle Outhouse instead.

Work right down from here and have probably since they have been open ate at least 100 bacon biscuits. Went in tonight and ordered 2 bacon biscuits to go and the crackhead they have for a waiter… mumbles they don’t sell them. I tell him I get them all the time. And he asks the lazy cook who don’t want to work if he will cook one and he says no. Lol. What kind of Wafflehouse. Who sells bacon and sells biscuits will not cook one. Something that I have had over and over. I guess good working crack heads are hard to find. They need to have their parole officers put these half way house rejects back in the big house where they can function. And hire some honest people..

I’ve been to a few Waffle Houses but I’ve never been to one that had a crew that was nearly as chatty as this one. About ten minutes after starting, half of them went outside to get something from one of their cars and the lack of noise was surprising. Eggs? Covered in melted butter. Waffle? Underdone. Toast? With butter instead of dry as ordered. Covered and chunked? Yep. It all arrived in stages and I think she only remembered the waffle when someone else’s was ready. I had to ask for syrup. There’s another WH in Birmingham. Maybe that one’s better.

My wife and I had an ok experience at this location(a first time visit). First off, if you go on a weekend evening(we were there on a Friday night around 11:30) expect to feel like you’re in the kitchen of the club above the place — I think the eggs on my plate were bouncing in rhythm from all the bass coming from upstairs.(I know that’s not WH’s fault, but just clueing you in so you’re not surprised.) Not really a big deal — conveniently enough, I don’t mind a lot of bass and randoming pulsating food. The restaurant was clean and the temperature was perfect, which is great for a place that can potentially be *sticky* everywhere, and exhibit arctic conditions like at most WHs(especially at night). The service left a bit to be desired though, which could be attributed to a long night for our server, a general apathy towards working that night(or maybe any other), or just a LOT of inexperience serving. My order was taken incompletely and somehow the one thing that the place is known for(hint: it’s in the name) was forgotten to be prepared when the rest of my meal was delivered. And when pointed out to the server after I discovered it wasn’t coming, she seemed nonchalant concerning the mistake and asked if I still wanted it. I politely responded«no», and mentioned that we were nevertheless charged for it. At that point she pulled out her pen and leaned against the table and over our food as she proceeded to correct the ticket and as we continued to eat. o0 Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a snob when it comes to being served, nor am I expecting Ruth’s Chris service at a WH; but there are some service basics you anticipate every restaurant wait staff member to just kinda *get*(and hovering over the table’s food ain’t it). Regardless though, the ultimate goal was achieved — we got food, it was cooked, it was hot, it was tasty, we got nourished, WH got paid. If it were 10 – 15 years ago, I’d say more than likely we’d be back to give it another shot; but since 5 Points seems less lively than it used to be, I don’t know how true that statement would be now. I guess if it’s late, you’re hungry, and don’t want to venture far from the area or *really* want a waffle, give this WH a try. Otherwise, I’d say just save yourself some trouble and hit up Purple Onion or Al’s; or, devote the 10 extra miles and find the next WH — there’s got to be another that close by.
