Best buffalo burger, or any burger for that matter that I have ever eaten. Attentive and efficient staff. Great menu with options to satisfy everyone.

Great atmosphere, only dislike is upstairs seating due to small table and TV right next to it. Otherwise the food was great!

Really great cheeseburger and perfectly crisp fries – only note is that all sandwiches are a al carte. Also would note that the drink menu isn’t kept up to date; there were several Michigan-made beers that my friend and I wanted to try that were on the menu, but they were out. Service is very attentive and prompt, and the venue/décor is very cool. The space has a northern Michigan feel to it; rustic, yet upscale.

We had a party for 45 in the upstairs room. Everything was perfect and our guests were thrilled. We chose the buffet, the appetizer package, and the sweet table. The sweet table was outstanding. Four or five different sweets of the highest quality, the chocolate bark was a hit, much better than the commercial ones around. The sous chef here is also a graduate pastry chef. We had two full time waitresses plus additional support staff as needed. The room was well appointed and everything was done per our specifications. We booked another party for may. Tip: If you park in the adjacent garage you have direct access to the banquet rooms.

We are there last Thursday night. Place was crowded. Good to see. Had a few drinks at the bar and then sat down. Our waitress Emily did an outstanding job. I had the short ribs which were cooked perfectly. Also had crab cakes and mozzarella appetizer. Zoran the owner came by to see how everything was. Great dinner experience. Will definitely go back.

2 visits and I’m still not sure about this place. Happy hour has $ 5 snacks and inexpensive drinks. White fish dip is very good. Meatloaf sliders are strange and odd meat taste — gamey, not like moms. Fried pickles are light but I can only eat a few. Sesame chicken strips are decent. Today they were a little over done and dry. Maybe a full meal would be better? I can’t say I want to try it with my experience so far meh.

Ordered pecan encrusted walleye and Western dip sandwhich. The walleye was mushy and sandwich was overly and unevenly seasoned. Service was very good. Next time I’ll go a few blocks north to Peabody where the walleye is properly prepared. Tr

Pasta was over cream, ordered with chicken and think there were pieces in it but we’re the smallest dry bits ever! Crab cakes… dry and no good.

This review is for the delicious fish tacos! Cajun broth with just the right amount of spice, loads of fish, huge avocados and fresh tomatoes. Atmosphere is lively and fun. Great new spot.

Attended a work holiday party here recently and was impressed with the food as well as the staff. Their team worked really hard to service our group and they smiled the entire night. The upstairs room came complete w/window views of downtown Birmingham, TVs and a full bar. It was a bit small for a party of our size, but it somehow worked. The appetizers and desserts were the only downside. Everything else was outstanding.

Despite the early criticism and negative PR the Triple Nickel received, I have found it to be on point during all 3 of my visits. Nice owner, good service, low key, very reasonable prices and great food with great views of our beautiful Birmingham! Sorry haters! This place is going to make it!

Loved Triple Nickel! Came here with my girlfriend a few weeks ago after arriving in MI. Venue is fantastic, décor is classic Americana — rustic and upscale. The food was great, I had the Buffalo Meatballs and the Chicken Pasta Dish — both of which I enjoyed very much. Our server was attentive and prompt, the owners even came by to inquire about our experience and recommend a beer… Not Your Father’s Root Beer has since become my favorite beer.

Nice expensive trendy décor. The typical bevy of attractive young female wait staff. So far following the standard play book… Interestingly they do have a high number of wait staff to customers which appears good. Our waitress was very nice & smart but some others seemed either grumpy as they brush past you, or very vacuous(bright smile, empty eyes with nothing going on behind them). Others were very friendly. A real mixture. Watching the slightly overweight male waitstaff walk down the stairs, lift his shirt, let his large slightly hairy gut hang out, while wiping his face with the shirt wasn’t an appetite enhancer though… The food: Chopped side salad is good. Slightly heavy on the dressing for me but I prefer light anyway so no criticism there. Afterthought, the dressing was so evenly applied I am wondering how, might be tossed in a large bag or something. Hmm. Both chicken dishes are good, nothing special though, standard stuff. Overall it is nothing more than 3 stars, it has no special cachet to recommend it, considering it really feels like the menu is taken directly off a Sysco food service recipe planner. The breadsticks are bought, the pesto ‘butter’(is it really?) is bought & the dessert menu makes no pretense of being home made. Is it bad? No. Is it good? No. Is it ok. Yes. Would I go back, not in a hurry, there are other places to try first.

Came here on a Friday with my wife and another couple. We’ve been here once before and had a decent experience, so thought we’d try it again. Must say, the second time was not good. First, at 7:30 on a Friday, ½ the tables were open. Not a good sign for a newer restaurant. The waitress came by to take our drink orders right as our friends were arriving and said she would come right back once they were seated… Then she didn’t reappear for quite a while. When she finally arrived to take our drink order she rambled on about drinking tequila last night. A hangover would explain the service we received. She went over the menu with us(after asking if she already had half way through) and we ordered an appetizer on her recommendation. She came back with our drinks and started going over the appetizers again and we had to remind her we had already ordered an appetizer. Our appetizer came out warm and tasty so we were happy about that. At one point we got a strong scent of marijuana and smoke. Not sure where that was coming from but our waitress mentioned she would have liked some. As I watched our food come out I saw the runner brush the entire tray along a potted plant they had sitting by the hostess stand. Extra flavoring I guess? We ordered two buffalo burgers which were very good except for the white center tomato on one(in the peak of tomato season) and very undercooked sweet potato fries. Another person had the ribs and she commented that the ribs at Mt. Chalet were better. My wife had the chop salad which was not even close to worth the $ 12 they charged, very bland and boring. Throughout the whole experience our waters sat empty most of the time after asking a couple of times for them to be filled. We also witnessed a waitress from a neighboring table clear a discarded drink from one table and set it on the table next to it(where people were sitting and eating!!) and leave it there. Will I be going back? No. I don’t mind spending money on a good meal, good service, good atmosphere, but you don’t get that here. Wish I had taken my money somewhere else tonight.

Reasons why this is a good restaurant: great venue, I liked the décor, the large bison head at the bar is hard to miss. Waitstaff was funny and friendly. Service was super quick. Good selection of beer on tap. Entrée pricing is fair. The food brings the rating down. Good but not great. Had the BBQ buffalo meatballs, salmon and halibut. Anyway would certainly come back for a happy hour or something.

I’ve tried Triple Nickel twice now, and as much as I want to give it 5 stars for bringing a NON-STEAKHOUSE into Birmingham… it did not deliver. Both visits were equally disappointing. Service was very poor, as we waited almost 20 minutes for a drink. Food actually came out relatively fast, however the quality of the food was not anything to write about. Very plain and presentation was elementary. The only positive is the seating on the windows. We sat upstairs along the open windows and the breeze and view along Woodward was pleasant. Might go back for a cocktail — if I had time to kill.

I went here on a Friday night with my manager. Disclaimer that this is my first restaurant experience in Birmingham so I can only comment on that one dinner and not on how well it fares relative to the area. We both had a great time there. Stayed there for 2.5 hours, loved our waiter, and would definitely suggest coming. I know there are a handful of negative reviews here but go ahead and give it a try still! Pros + Very good service + Decent prices and portions(my grilled chicken entrée with veggies was just $ 15) + Good selection of beers on tap + Lively environment + Good location in downtown Birmingham P. S. There was a «frog legs» appetizer. Would never try that, but I wonder if anyone has…?

Went on a Thursday evening and it was packed. Though we didn’t have to wait more than a couple minutes. So that was nice. Anyway, first thing you notice: super boring menu. Calamari, Clam Chowder, Filet Mignon, Burger. But then you hold out hope that it’s actually really tasty. It’s not. It’s wedding food. I got the scallops. They were recommended by our waitress. Overlooked, rubbery small scallops on top of some boring-ass rice with murdered asparagus. Wife’s burger and fries might as well have been from a Coney Island. Anyway, I’d go back for drinks but that’s it. Yikes.

We went on a Friday night. It was not too busy we had a spot at the downstairs bar Ordered a Manhattan and it was good but it took so long. They couldn’t find the bourbon we asked for so we chose something else. It was just Bullet nothing fancy. The stuffed calamari was really good but again we had to wait. We will give it another shot it’s close to where I live. I hope we have better luck next time
