History

Established in 2015.

Salon Legato Birmingham is the 2nd generation of Legato, an Aveda Lifestyle Salon & Spa. Legato’s first home, an Aveda Concept Salon & Spa, has been located in the heart of historic downtown Farmington since 2005.

Karen T.

Manager

A professional since 1983, Karen believes in the philosophy «do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.» Karen holds the prestigious title of in-​salon cutting coach, and has been coaching in cutting, coloring, and styling for the past 10 years. She has attended countless advanced Aveda education classes to further her skills. She believes in educating her guests in self-​styling, and will always help you achieve your desired result. Set aside some daymaking time and you will discover your natural beauty together.

What a wonderful experience. I got a cut and color. The service was excellent and i loved the pampering! Service is excellent, everyone very friendly and professional. This salon is not only absolutely gorgeous, but you get a welcoming feeling from the moment you walk in. Melissa has done my hair for a long time and I’m happy to follow her to this new location! She’s amazing with color and high lights, cuts and blow outs! That paired with a hilarious personality is such a great combination and makes every visit fun.

My talented and longtime stylist, Katy Saltsman, moved to this salon when it first opened, and I couldn’t be happier! The location in downtown Birmingham is easy to find and centrally located. The salon itself is modern, but welcoming on all levels. Katy is consistently a great stylist who listens and executes what the customer wants every single time.

Short Hair Specialist — Chic Welcoming Salon
I visited my my longtime stylist Katy Saltsman at her new location, Salon Legato Birmingham and I was thrilled. I’d follow Katy anywhere, she does an amazing job with a very precise cut on difficult hair. I have very dense hair with a crazy neckline and strong cowlicks, somehow Katy shapes the perfect pixie every time! The salon itself was beautiful, relaxing, spotlessly clean and Carlynn at the front desk made me feel right at home. I booked my next two appointments in advanced because these ladies are in demand! Looking forward to my next visit.

I’ve been coming back to Salon Legato for years and then when they opened a new salon in Birmingham with my favorite stylist (Marissa) I had to go! The store is easy to find and right in downtown Birmingham, once you walk in your greeted by the amazing scent of Aveda and the lovely staff.
Once I got in the chair my stylist and I went over what I wanted to have done and she made sure that I was happy with what she was saying. And asked if I had any questions before we started. She did a fabulous job cutting my hair and made sure I liked it throughout the process. I could never imagine going to a different salon, 5 stars!
