Great variety of wine and spirits. They even have non-​alcoholic wine. Good service. I found the prices to be a little lower than another wine and spirits store on Maple Road. Before your next event, stop in. After that event… you may need a drink. Stop back in.

They tried to sell me a six pack of Not Your Fathers Root Beer for $ 20, that is just laughable! I said are you serious? He said «yup $ 20», I left and went down the road and got it for $ 9. Scammers and rude.

Definitely worth a visit. Unlike any other liquor store, this place has class and the owner (Joe) really knows what he is talking about and is happy to help you find what you might like. He also carries beers that other places either don’t carry or have stopped carrying.
Amazing beer and wine selection. If you do not know what you want, just let them know what kind of stuff you like and they will help you out!

ML Spirits is a cozy, well lit, clean, medium sized store with extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. If you just need a case of Bud, you might not appreciate the place that much, but if you actually have questions or are open to suggestions, they are the best hands down.
The storefront is classy and conveniently located ON Woodward. There is a good amount of parking right in front, making quick stops really simple.
I have always been impressed by the amount of beer, wine, and liquor available here. You name it, they have it, and if they don’t– well then they’ll order it for you and give you a call when it’s in. Also, they usually have wine or liquor samples available (reps seem to be there A LOT), and sell craft beer by the bottle so you can make your own six pack then come back for more of what you liked best.
While they have a better selection than most and average prices, what sets ML Spirits apart is that the staff truly knows what they’re talking about, and will patiently help you find what you’re looking for. If they don’t have it (rare), they’ll make suggestions based on your preferences, and they are spot on. I’ve seen them cordially help countless fussy customers in this fashion, some of whom I thought would never make up their mind.
Finally, they are quite friendly and family oriented. It’s like the «Cheers» of the neighborhood, and if you come in a few times, they’ll get to know you and vice versa.

Let me cut right to the point, this place is fantastic. The overall selection and quantity of their beer, wines and liquor stock is nothing short of jaw dropping. I had hewed good things before deciding to check them out but I was totally blown away. They have obscure variations of international beers and liquors I never even knew existed, or that I’ve only seen offered for sale overseas in either Europe or Southeast Asia. The prices aren’t the lowest, no, but they’re not out of control either, but honestly when you’re looking for a VERY hard to find type of beer and they not only have it in stock, but also 2 – 3 other variants, you will quickly forget that you’re paying an extra dollar or two.
TL;DR: This place has an am amazing variety of products available; best liquor store in SE Michigan.

This place is heaven. The selection is stellar, and it’s laid out in a way that makes you want to look at all the bottles as if you were in a museum (and hell, I guess you kind of are).
I also appreciate their limited but excellent snack selection. Fancy licorice at the checkout? I’m sold.
The guys are are super friendly and professional. Truthfully, I haven’t often considered liquor stores a fun place to go by yourself as a woman, but this place is classy and makes me feel right at home.

I love wine! Had to put it out there… now that that’s out of the way, I love this place too! I come here when I have a vague idea of what I want to drink/​buy but am looking for some guidance. The staff always has recommendations and they have products for every price point. You really have to watch out when you are trying to get to it — I drive past it 85% of the time and then am caught in a labyrinth of Michigan U-​Turns.

I really like this place as the selection is outstanding. They have all types of mixers and fixin’s to go with different kinds of cocktails and different essentials for wine. Pricing isn’t too bad as I got the fifth of Rumchata, Beaujolais nouveau, a gift bag, and 2 mini Rumchata’s and it was only $ 50. Service is usually really good here, however the last time I went there the owner was there & looked right at me but didn’t say a word. the person at the counter asked if I needed help but couldn’t have been more interested or crack a smile. I’ve been in there before and they were happy to special order a wine or tell me when to get it or where to get it. So they have been helpful in the past. There are a few other places that are close by where the service is impeccable every time and they are more than happy to help. I do love mL and will be back. They usually always have what I’m looking for and sometimes a little something extra!

Stopped here on the way to my friends new condo in B-​ham and as it is a blink and you might miss it place it was awesome! What a great selection of wine, beer, and drinks! The selection of craft beer was impressive and they had a great selection of Michigan craft beers which is a favorite of my husbands. I wish the Michigan wine section was as populated as the beer. I love local liquor! The guy working was so helpful and nice! I will definitely stop here on the way to my friends house again if we are drinking.

I go here from time to time because I do like their selection, and I went in to try and find out how to get a bottle of the elusive pappy van winkle bourbon. I am more then aware of how hard it is to find, and know I must get lucky and be there when it arrives. I was told my best bet is to go online and pay $ 500 for it, about quadruple the retail price. I was then told that when they do get it in stock they will only give it to their «high end» customers. A word of advice, don’t insult your customers. I live less then a mile from them, but will go out of my way to make sure I never give them business again.

Why did it take me so long to visit ml. Before I started on this craft beer kick, this place was on my radar when we moved to the area. It’s important to know about the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to a lot of things, especially beer, wine & liquor stores.
I was immediately impressed when I walked in. I am not really sure what I expected, but I really liked the layout, the lighting, and selection. The single bottle craft beer selection is pretty well stocked with a good variety. I was extremely excited to discover 1 of 2 bottles of a beer that had been sold out for a couple of weeks. I like that they had a lot of craft beer in the walk-​in cooler. I really wanted to take something cold so I could enjoy it as soon as I got home.
Now I have one more store to add to my list of stops for craft beer. As if I need another one. ha!

Personalized service, they know your name, and they will order whatever you want. I feel good after I leave ML!

I was drawn in by it’s pretty exterior. And I was not dissapointed when I finally entered. It did take me a year to finally enter, but now I am a regular!
One of the best selections of liquor around. And if they do not have it, they will order it for you. They have rare boozey treats like Pimms to cheap ghettolicious Burnett’s. Seriously, make yourself a Pimms Cup. Esp. if you adore cucumber!
They have great mixers like my beloved San Pelligrino Limonata and a few different bitter lemons. Seriously, if you have not mixed vodka with SP’s Limonata… you have not lived. Try it. Hands down best mixer ever! If only a low cal SP existed! Of couse they also have Stirrings, McClure’s, Red Bull, and sodas as well.
If only more stores carried SP Limonata… there is nothing by me in Auburn HIlls, so ML is a clear choice on my drive home from Detroit. The lack of SP is heart breaking.
They have a nice selection of vino, a beer cave (which always sounds cool to me) and a decent selection of ciders.
Oh, and they have my beloved Synergy Kombucha… kinda random in a liquor shop… but I love to pick this up when ever I can. It’s nice to see this outside of Papa Joes, Whole Foods and Plum Market.
They have a few snacks to pick up too as well as some tobacco products.
The prices are spot on! Lowest prices on liquor and SP is cheaper here than in the supermarkets. That is refreshing because most party stores hose you on mixers.
The staff is super friendly and super nice… they will help you anyway they can. They really go the extra mile. For example, giving you a box to carry your purchases in.
And SUPER DOUPER BONUS is FREEEEEE Ice! Love that! Makes my cooler filled with San Pelligrino and vodka varitals smile poolside.

I’ve been to ml twice; both times for a family event nearby where there wasn’t enough adult beverages stocked. I’ve seen this place since it opened, and I have to admit I judged it right out of the gate. I figured, «hmm, good-​looking modern liquor store on the Woodward strip in Birmingham… it’s GOTTA be overpriced and snooty.» Wrong. On both accounts. My brother in law suggested I go there and I’m glad I did.
The first time I bought two cases of beer and the lady at the front was SUPER nice. She helped carry my products to the car and was very friendly. We chit-​chatted about hair (we both have short hair).
The second time I had to make a quick stop for a case of beer and the gentleman at the front was very friendly, personable and gave me a free bag of ice.
I am somewhat versed in wine, but both times I didn’t have the chance to browse and see prices or selection — hence the missing star. Both times I was in the «beer cave» and was impressed by the selection. They didn’t have ALL the wacky micro-​brews available everywhere, but they had a decent selection and it was all well-​priced. They also carry an obscure Polish beer that no one else has, so that’s a major plus; I used to have to order it special when I worked at Plum Market.
All in all it’s a great store and I recommend it if you’re looking for more than a quick stop. The service and selection are top-​notch. Definitely a business worth keeping alive.

Great liquor store with a MASSIVE selection of hard to cocktails.
They had the Goose Island beer I was looking for. Their humidor is also pretty decent for a store of this type.
The liquor types, brands, and sizes available here is unmatched to any other local liquor store. A+!!!
Two let-​downs:
1. They took 2 days to get back to my email simply inquiring if they had something specific in stock. May want to check that more regularly, just my $.02. I guess though most people wouldn’t be emailing in but you never know.
2. As noted by other reviewers, their selection of Michigan wines & beers is sub-​par in my opinion. They definitely have them stocked, but I had anticipated a far more extensive selection. We are not wine snobs by any means but I can definitely say we have had our fair share of Michigan wines and hope they continue to expand in that area.
The owners here are great and very helpful I have found.

My expectations were that this would be a unique place that would have a large selection of Michigan beer and wine. To really highlight the phenomenal variety and flavors Michigan has to offer.
ML does have a vary large assortment of wines, it’s organized well, including, what they call their «beer cave». However, their selection of both Michigan beer and wine was very small and disappointing.
Michigan has amazing wineries up north and on the west side of the state and countless micro brews all throughout the state. I really wish they could have more Michigan products.
It really is a larger and glorified party store.
