Most banks do not carry international currencies and airports are expensive. FCES carries over 60 international currencies including Euro, Pounds, Pesos and more. Along with your order of foreign money, we provide free currency conversion charts and travel financial advice. We will buy back excess paper currency upon your return. Foreign drafts, luggage scales, neck wallets and travel insurance are also sold at our office. We are located in the Merrillwood Building at 251 E. Merrill Street, Suite 238, Birmingham, MI, 48 009.

Located in the Merrillwood Building in downtown Birmingham, Michigan, Foreign Currency Exchange Services (FCES) took over the space vacated by American Express when they closed in 2005. We believe that there is a need for currency exchange in Michigan, especially in the Detroit area. We are proud to be a Michigan-​based company. Since 2005, our company has increased business by building strong client relationships. Based on over 30 years experience in foreign travel and the nuances of international currencies, we will give you advice for protecting your finances while you are abroad. We’ll guide you in the appropriate balance of cash, credit and debit cards you should have in your wallet when you leave. FCES works with seasoned and first-​time vacationers and business travelers. I was headed to Amsterdam and Italy so I needed my money exchanged. I highly recommend this place. It was very easy and the service from Bruce was excellent. This is a million times better than changing money at the airport. Today, I went back to exchange my remaining money from Euros to dollars. This transaction went perfectly as well.

I can’t say enough good things about this shop. While it at time is a little more, they have currency’s that are harder to find at the last minute. Thankfully they always have the exotics I need and if you ever need something they don’t have they can get it fast!
Great example, today I have a last minute flight to Bahrain… they have the currency in house! So I can pass customs with out issue to pay for my visa!
Amazing service, exotics you would have to wait a week+ for at a name brand bank and always friendly!

It is always nice to arrive in a different country with a little cash on hand. If you are looking for commonly sought currency — Euros, for instance — you can actually get these at some big banks (CHASE) or even at AAA. But if you need something a little more exotic, like Iraqi dinars, or probably any other sort of dinars, libras, dollars, or pesos, you should give this place a shot. The exchange rates are ok, not great, not larcenous. They are better than what you might get when you arrive in your destination country, though. There is a $ 5 fee for each transaction. They will also give you a cheat-​sheet of conversions from your destination’s cash to yours, so you’ll know how much you’re spending in Iraq when you buy the 70,000 dinar belt. Worth a visit for sure.
