Evol Ink Studio isn’t your average Birmingham tattoo shop. We don’t want the upscale feel to deter you, though. There are no rockstar attitudes here. We try to focus on quality custom tattoos, providing our clients with a sense of individuality in a very popular market. Each artist has their own style, and we are more than happy to point you in the direction of the artist we feel would do best with your tattoo design. Our tattoo artists and body piercers have the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure that your body art experience will be the best one possible, and you’ll find them to be altogether accommodating. With a talented staff that brings renowned experience to the table, a pleasant and friendly atmosphere is created which allows for great sessions between our artists and clients. History

Established in 2012.

Evol Ink Studio opened in August 2012 in Tuscaloosa, AL. In the first few months, we were making a very strong presence in Tuscaloosa and making a name for ourselves. Before we could get through our first year, the building we were in was rezoned and scheduled to be demolished. Instead of taking the news as a bad omen, we elected to go ahead and head to Birmingham, where we had the opportunity to build out our dream tattoo shop, exactly how we wanted.

Evol Ink. was started to give those seeking great custom body art and body modifications at affordable prices a place to go and trust. We pride ourselves on having one of the nicest looking shops in Alabama, with the appearance of course comes cleanliness and comfort. All piercings come with titanium jewlery from the top leading manufactures like Anatometal and Neometal. We also specialize in non-laser tattoo removal.

I researched this Studio via Unilocal as well. I liked what I saw, enough to pay them a visit, and met with the owner. The facility is very clean, well organized, and more professional than any of their «competitors» around town –really nothing else came close on overall environment (cleanliness, equipment, furniture), and I had been to 7 – 8 others in the Birmingham area. After meeting with the owner, we came up with the design that I wanted tattooed, filled out the necessary paperwork, and he began within the hour. The process was over within the time period he had specified, and he was professional. My main, and really only, concern came with the actual service rendered. I followed all steps that my artist told me to take for proper care of the tattoo afterward. Two weeks later, the tattoo looked extremely faded, with ink missing in some spots. I was reassured that this sometimes happens –based upon the body of the person getting the tattoo. It was just frustrating that I had to find time in my schedule to drive 35 minutes across town, pay another $amount to have a different artist do the touch-up (the owner was out of town for several days), and go through the «afterward» process over again. Even still, that shop is A-OK. The follow-up artist did a good job.

Me and two of my friends wanted piercings Was told the piercer would be in at 2. Came in at 2 have been here waiting nearly 30 minutes. No one could give me a straight answer as to when she would be there. Well take our business elsewhere.

Has seen that their stuff is great, had high hopes for it, but walked in and the guy at the front desk seemed uninterested. He sounded like he didn’t want to talk to my friend and I. Classic 13 was more interested in us. Piece of advice, if you don’t show interest in the customer, don’t work in a environment based on first impressions.

Discovered this place off of Unilocal.Both times I called, the girl that answered was sweet and helpful. When I walked in, I was a bit nervous to be honest. They have weird things on the walls, and a haunted house kinda theme.lol. But when I was greeted by Demi, I felt super comfortable. She has the best vibe, was super informative and made me feel like it was nothing. She pierced my nose. In the room everything was super sterile, I could smell the clean-ness haha. She was the bomb. Don’t regret my decision! I also got to see a tattoo she did on a customer she was finishing up when I walked in. She does amazing work! Definitely ask for Demi :)

I was in Birmingham on work. I got a day off so I wanted to get a tattoo. I called a few stores and when I called evol I spoke with Demi. She was friendly over the phone. Most other shops weren’t. When I got there she greeted me with a huge smile and put me at ease right away. Her whole demeanor was amazing. She quickly got me set up and we were on our way. She had amazing conversation and I usually don’t talk to my artists but she just had an amazing aura that made me want to continue talking. Her skills are undeniable and her touch with the tattoo gun was like non other I’ve had before. If you are in the area go see DEMI. Everyone else in the store weren’t as friendly or welcoming. If I’m ever in town again I would definitely go just to get tatted by her again. Thanks DEMI!!!

Five stars for customer service! They were very helpful both when I called and came in. They gently took out 12 pieces of jewelry before an MRI. We will be back to put it all back in and talk tattoo.

I had been wanting to stop by here for awhile as it’s not too far from my house. The shop, to my eyes, appeared very clean, the staff very friendly-not in that forced sense because they need customers-but genuinely friendly. The gentleman that I initiated conversation with was Vin. I had originally just planned on talking about a tattoo idea I had, and get an idea of pricing for it. After a great conversation with Vin, I decided to move forward with the tattoo right then and there. Vin was great to work with, open to suggestions to his adaptation of my design. We worked together to get it ‘just right’ including the font as well as placement on my forearm. Conversation during the tattoo was effortless. There’s a great camaraderie between Vin and other staff as well.
Payment is easy too-you can either pay by debit/credit card, paypal, and they also have an atm on site, which was what I used; since my original intention wasn’t to get a tattoo that day, I had no cash for tipping.
Overall a great experience, friendly/knowledgeable staff, easy ways to pay, and I’m extremely happy with the work that was done. I will most likely go back for my next tattoo.
