Amish View Inn & Suites

This is by far our favorite place to stay while visiting Lancaster County. It’s tucked away in the countryside but still close to everything. The staff is seriously the best around. They’re always willing to help with whatever they can. Breakfast is included and it’s seriously the best. It’s not just milk and cereal, there’s waffles, pancakes, bacon and more… and it’s all included in your stay. If you’re traveling without children, stay in the king suites, you won’t regret it.

We booked the suite with whirlpool. Our 3-​year-​old and 1-​year-​old boys love it! The would jump in when they woke up in the morning, and have a bath again when we come back to hotel in the afternoon. The whirlpool is big and clean. The view overlooking the farm is amazing. Breakfast is great, many variety of food.

Overall, it’s a very nice hotel with beautiful a view. A few «negatives» though…1) Breakfast – amazing but you are quickly turned off & are sure to lose your appetite by the ignorant people who bring their dirty plates up for seconds! We told the staff that they should put signs up about using dirty plates. 5 days later, still no sign.
2) Parking is an issue if you plan to leave and come back during the day. The hotel lot is shared with their other businesses on the property (restaurant, bus tours) and fills up pretty quickly.

We were in the area to see Moses at sight and sound and wanted to book a hotel close to the theater. What a great find for us! Starting with the staff, this is an amazing hotel and we would definitely stay here again. The room was great! Plenty of space and very comfortable. The view from the room was amazing! As stated the staff was amazing and willing to answer any questions we had. The breakfast was top notch as well! Many hotels offer a complimentary breakfast, but this one was great. We plan on making a yearly trip to the area and would not stay anywhere else! We highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel! Our view was of the corn field and in the morning, hot air balloons. It was so quiet we left the window open all night. This hotel has a bunch of TV channels and a marvelous breakfast. We got ferhoodled! Eggs cooked to order and all the fixins. I would have loved to stay another night.

Love staying here; it definitely is one of the few hotels left in the area that have that «Amish feel». Beautiful views, very clean and a nice continental breakfast. My only complaint is make sure you recommend a room away from the housekeeping’s storage closet because we were awaken each morning by the loud banging, etc. It seriously sounded like they were going to come through the wall! Our room was right next door and the walls were obviously not sound proofed! I would have complained, but we were only there 2 nights & I didn’t feel like packing up my young children and moving to a different room.

I recently returned from Lancaster and this was my first overnight here. Since I was with my grown daughter we got the opportunity to stay in the «west wing» which is for people over 18.
The room itself was incredibly large and included a 60 inch TV set along with a living area and a mini kitchenette located inside a cupboard. What blew me away was the bathroom. It consisted of a stand alone tub with a smaller TV so you could watch it while you soaked in it. The bathroom had a separate glass shower along with two sink basins and finally a second door within leading to the toilet.
The view was indeed spectacular however; and I had asked this question to the staff, there is no outside walkway behind the building to actually savor it or take pictures. All pictures have to be taken through a window.
The staff gave us prompt attention to our needs and gave us directions as to some places we wanted to go. Included in our registration packet were discount coupons to the Amish experience and Plain and Fancy Farm but time did not permit us to take advantage of those things.
I did check out basement where they had a nice size pool and a hot tub along with a small fitness room.
We had a whole breakfast which is unusual for places like these. Included in the hot foods were thick sausages, quiche, potatoes, and bacon to name a few. You could order made to order eggs, omelets or even Belgium waffles from the chef stand. The food was very good! My only disappointment was in the cereal section they gave oatmeal packets. For all the items they were giving us they could have had it all cooked up and in one of the hot items area.
The place was very clean and in the entryway you can see a wallpaper of an Amish barn raising which i found interesting. My recommendation would be that if you are able to then try to stay in the new West wing as I have no idea what the other rooms are like. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our second time staying at Amishview Inn and it is still superb. The staff are very friendly and quite helpful. The view from our room was beautiful and peaceful. The room was quite comfortable and spotless clean. The breakfast beats any I’ve had in a hotel setting. The woman making the eggs and omelets was very accommodating.
This time we had dinner in the Plain & Fancy restaurant for the first time and it was fantastic. We were there towards the end of their day and still the service could not have been better and our waitress was helpful and had a great sense of humor. The food was excellent. We will return to the inn and restaurant and will be recommending it to family.

I have been coming to the Inn for many years and the steady decline cannot be masked by the new wing. The new wing is beautiful, but the «old» rooms are in terrible condition. The «full» breakfast consists of reheated precooked processed foods (including bacon, sticky buns, etc.). In the middle of Amish farmland with fresh food in abundance and a bakery within one mile of the inn there is no excuse for this overly processed breakfast experience. Due to a shortage in housekeepers rooms remain untouched until 5 pm. Managing growth spurts like those experienced by this inn is a difficult task requiring perfect timing, coordination and a well developed plan. It seems those essential ingredients were missing. The continuing highlight of the inn has been the first class front desk staff.

The hotel looks/​feels brand new. Comfortable and clean, with welcomed features like free wi-​fi, breakfast buffet, decent indoor pool, free coffee, etc. While it is overpriced for the area, it still provides a good value. We would definitively stay there again.
The problem was with the attached «Plain & Fancy Farm» restaurant which came highly recommended by the Inn’s staff. It took well over an hour to get a table and the food was WAY inferior to similar places like Cracker Barrel (about 15 minutes away) for at least twice the price. The chicken pot pie had hardly any chicken and the ham steak was hard and tasteless. Don’t ruin your experience at the Inn and skip the restaurant.

Absolutely Beautiful Inn! Gracious and helpful people at the front desk and breakfast. Cannot say enough good things about this Inn! The location was perfect with everything centrally located perfect! They let us check out a little late even during a busy week so we could take a buggy ride, excellent customer service! Best breakfast we have ever had… made to order eggs which my husband loved — I kept going back for the Baked Oatmeal myself! YUM!!! We have found the place to stay in Amish country and will definitely come back here again, and again! Thank you Amish View Inn for everything!!!

Granted I love Lancaster so everything is wonderful to me when I am there but this was truly an excellent place to stay. We had such a lovely view from our room… room itself was lovely… indoor pool and hot tub were a joy… really, really perfect. Breakfast was done very nicely as well.

Spent 5 nights here as a family of 4 and agree with the other reviews. The customer service was great, the breakfast was wonderful every morning, and the pool was a plus for my daughter. Free Wi-​Fi and the grounds were nice to stroll during breaks between daily activities. We bought two «Getaway Enhancements» which each contained 2 coupons for dinner at Millers Smörgåsbord or Plain and Fancy Restaurant (we chose Plain and Fancy for the better reviews); a bottle of wine (since we purchased 2 they gave us 2 different kinds of wine: red and white); a travel mug for coffee; $ 3 off at the gift shop; a free DVD rental; and extra coupons for the Rockvale Outlet Mall (not a big deal for us). They were $ 34 each and we got our money’s worth out of it. (I wouldn’t agree, however, that they were a $ 79 value: maybe a $ 49 value is more realistic).
May be the nicest hotel in the area (Rt. 30 is sooooo busy with traffic. DON’T stay there). Earns only 4 stars because we’ve been in nicer hotels, but I would recommend this to any of my friends visiting here.

We stayed here overnight for a relaxing get away. It is clean and quiet. It was a perfect place for our family, it is close to a lot of attractions. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The breakfast is also very good.

We stayed here for R and R. Wow is all I can say! For some reason I can’t find pictures. We had a room on the first floor with a giant poster bed and a beautiful working fire place with a giant jacuzzi. I almost fell asleep in the jacuzzi. It was the nicest jacuzzi I have ever been in!
We had views of Amish farmland. The breakfast was very sizable. There is a restaurant there and though I don’t remember specifically what I ate, I love Amish food and we don’t have it in NYC so it is a nice little treat to go to Amish Country on occasion.
The customer service was excellent. Friendly environment. Close to all of the shops and «attractions» in Amish Country. You get to see a piece of Americana that you can’t get any where else.

If you’re planning a trip to Pennsylvania’s Amish country, consider spending the night at AmishView Inn & Suites on Old Philadelphia Pike in Bird-​in-​Hand. The hotel is fresh, clean, and modern with cheerful, helpful folks at the front desk. Adjacent to the hotel, you’ll find «The Amish Experience,» offering a cool F/​X video providing real insight into Amish life, an on-​site Amish house with a room converted into an Amish schoolroom, and bus tours through the Amish countryside. Our tour guide for the house, who then joined us to narrate the bus tour, was amazing. Five stars. Our one disappointment was the restaurant that’s part of the compound, «Plain and Fancy.» The service was very disappointing, apparently because someone had failed to put together adequate staffing for the night. But the manager pitched in and acted as our server — a welcome gesture. The food itself was only so-​so. So you might consider another dining option, or you might give «Plain and Fancy» a go-​round on the chance that our experience was a fluke.

Great place to stay for me and my wife. We go every year. They also give a great breakfest and service is so friendly. It’s close to the outlets, Amish, and The farmers market and let’s not forget Millers. The best worker there is Sandy she gave us great advice on other areas to visit in PA. Will go again!!!

I absolutely loved this hotel. Here’s 5 reasons why:
1. The rooms were beautiful. Absolutely lovely furnishings, everything was immaculately clean, comfy bed, and the yummiest-​smelling bath products ever. Really, like chocolaty-​orange. Ahhhhh…
2. Perfect location. Sort of smack-​dab in the middle of Amish country.
3. The best hotel breakfast I’ve personally ever had. Not your usual cereal/​stale pastries/​a few sad pieces of fruit here. No sirree, Bob. Delicious homemade waffles, eggs/​omelets made-​to-​order, home fries, bacon, sausage, homemade baked oatmeal, fresh fruit/​melon, pastries (baked fresh locally!), juices, etc. Everything was so fresh and so good. And it’s included in the price of your room, which is such a nice bonus.
4. The views from this hotel are amazing. It’s located right on the same grounds as an actual, working farm, but far enough away to enjoy the spectacular views of the cornfields, horses, etc, without the um, aromas. :0) So beautiful, so relaxing.
5. They have a nice, big indoor pool and a jacuzzi. We totally took advantage of this both nights we stayed here.
I just loved staying at this gorgeous hotel, and wouldn’t hesitate booking here again when visiting Amish country. Great for couples, perfect for families, too. I actually wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the area after being spoiled here.

Gorgeous hotel in the heart of Amish farm country. They offer a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere with beautifully decorated suites. The staff is extremely nice and they have a really homey atmosphere, think fresh baked cookies at the front desk and movie nights in the main parlor. They also include a HUGE buffet breakfast in your room price that even offers a make your own omelet and waffle station. Breakfast is served in front of the fireplace and overlooking a working Amish farm. It is a truly beautiful way to start the day and fills you up enough that you won’t have to eat much at lunch. They have a small gym and an indoor pool for those who like to keep in shape and even offer board game rentals for free at the front desk. High style with down home atmosphere!
