Southwind Resort

We rented a townhouse here through VRBO for a weekend with some friends. We were extremely disappointed. Calling it a resort doesn’t make it one. It’s just not very nice. It is on par with something like a Super 8 motel. It’s just not a place to go on vacation, and definitely not worth $ 700 for the weekend.

This place was dirty. Our daughter and family arrived late and we had not checked the sofa sleeper except to see that there was a mattress pad. I told her to bring a set of sheets. Housekeepint did bring some before they got there. Good thing. We opened the sofa bed and the mattress pad was FILTHY! I don’t think it had aver been washed. We ended putting the condo sheet on topped by the one brought by my daughter. We also discovered that the one on the master bedroom hadn’t been laundered either. The comforter smelled and we ended laundering all the bedding. the matress on the master bed was very stained=like someone peed on it. YUK!
The carpeting was sorely in need of cleaning. There was a big spot in the master bedroom. You could see that bed had been moved probably to unsuccessfully clean it, but unsucessfuly.
The TV was ancient and the sound level poor.
The kitchen was extremely il equipped. There was no mixing bowl, measuring cups or spoons, no baking pans. the pots and pans were OLD and the teflon was chiping off. I had to discard the white sauce I made because there were black specks in it that chipped off the pot. I brought my own skillet. good thing. did you ever make white sauce in a 10 inch skillet? We had to go out and purchas a cookie sheet, disposable baking pans and measuinng spoons and cups. Did they think someone renting it for a month was never going to cook? It was rented as a vacion rental for heaven sakes.
This is our fourth rental in the area in the last 4 years in the area plus sever others in various states. This is the only one that was terrible. — And it looks nice on paper – or rather on the internet.
