The equipment is ancient, the doctor uses outdated techniques, and my filling broke in less than two years! I went there twice, once for a check up and once for a cavity filling. Their x-ray machine is so old, I was actually worried about calibration and radiation levels. The dental hygienist was really nice, though. They found a cavity and scheduled an appointment to fill it. At the appointment, Dr. Frankel tried to convince me first actively, then passive-aggressively to get an amalgam filling. I haven’t seen those be used in many years, and am well aware that they contain mercury, so I insisted I wanted composite. He went on an on about how it was a horrible and expensive decision. I put my foot down. He was grumpy but did it. That was about a year and a half ago. Today, I went to another dentist, and they told me that the composite was cracked, and that was really unusual for such a new filling. Which means he didn’t even do a good job after all that complaining. Never going back. Steer clear.

I have only been to this office once and I was referred here from a family member. If my rating was based on Dr. Frankel I would give him 5 stars but I can’t seem to get over how RUDE the woman is in the front that I feel compelled to leave this review in warning for anyone expecting to be treated like a human being. + Scheduling the appointment was easy, they were very accommodating and considering I switched my appointment twice, the first receptionist I dealt with was patient and pleasant. I believe she was the hygienist in the office. — I was seen over 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment. No one warned me he was running late or anything or sort. They just left me sitting in silence in the waiting area. + Upon arrival, I was nervous and in pain. Dr. Frankel seems like a genuinely nice guy. He was welcoming and was very clear in explaining every step and procedure. His assistant was quiet but nice as well. With Dr. Frankel I felt comfortable and informed. He answered all of my questions and I left his chair feeling good about my visit. Upon leaving, he referred me to a oral surgeon to have my wisdom teeth removed. — - — A week later, I had tried calling the office to ask a brief question and the woman who answered the phone was rude and pushy. She told me she would call me back when she gets a chance. O.K., I get it, it’s more than likely busy in there but through my experience, I believe anyone who works in a environment where they deal with the public, should act professional and respectful. I felt like a burden when I hung up the phone. I’m a hairstylist and I deal with the public all day — I answer phones, take messages and know what it’s like to work in a busy environment. Work is stressful, I GETIT. BUT whatever happened to answering the phone with a smile? Not even 10 minutes later, I have a missed call and voicemail. I immediately try calling back and the same woman as earlier answers the phone in the same snappy tone and as soon as I could introduce myself, she barks out that she«told me SHE would call ME» before I can even finish saying«someone did call me, I just got a –» She cuts me off and tells me it must have been the hygienist and she’ll call me back when she can. CLICK. I have never been so upset with a persons complete lack of people skills in my entire life. I have never felt so undervalued as a patient/client. After I settle my main reason for my phone call, I more-than-likely will not be returning to this place because I don’t deserve that treatment, nor does anyone.

I was delighted to find a new dentist in my area who took my Delta Dental plan. Dr. Frankel’s office is conveniently located on 3-A(Boston Road), next door to the 99 Restaurant. After a short wait, I received attentive care from Brenda — a top-notch hygienist who provided expert advice on the kind of toothbrush I should use and the best way to floss. She gave me a lot of time, which I appreciate, before Dr. Frankel personally inspected my mouth. I’m normally used to getting a cleaning from the dentist himself in my native New York — but I’ve learned that this is a luxury. This hygienist was absolutely qualified and actually gave me better words of wisdom than I’ve received in years. I also appreciated that I wasn’t charged my deductible for preventive care. A note on parking: there are spots behind the house, so look there and you should have no trouble finding a spot. I’m glad to have found a new local dentist and will definitely be going back as a regular patient!
