Gallatin River Guides is the oldest fly shop in Big Sky and is home to honest fishing info, guided fly fishing trips and instruction on the waters of Montana and Yellowstone Park, renowned customer service, and the gear for near and far.

Although most of our guided fishing trips are on the Gallatin, Madison, and Yellowstone rivers, we have a guide and the necessary permits for almost every river in Montana. If we don’t we can point you in the right direction! We also have many guides in Bozeman, so we could even work out a pick up option!

History

Established in 1984.

Since 1984, Gallatin River Guides has been a year-​round source for fly fishing the Gallatin, Madison, Yellowstone, and Paradise Valley Spring Creeks. We fish a ton. That is all we do and we do it well. From beginner to expert, from the Madison River to a technical spring creek, we are your source for all things fishy under Montana’s Big Sky.

We’ve been serving Montana anglers for over 30 years with over 150 years combined guiding and fly fishing experience.

Business Owner

Our owners, Pat and Brandy Straub, grew up here – no other fly shop owners in Big Sky can say that. Our manager, Jimmy Armijo-​Grover, is as legit as they get. Our guide staff ranges from old to young and our shop staff knows hard work and great customer service.
