History
Established in 2002.
The Big Bear Valley Hummingbird Project, Inc. was incorporated in 2002 and began operation on October 5, 2003. The Project was started to help low to moderate income families and children in the Big Bear Valley. There was a need for children to be prepared for school and to experience recreational opportunities as many parents were unable to pay for these needs. Thus, the Hummingbird Thrift Store was opened. The money received from sales help to provide needs for the community. The Project collaborates with many groups in the community and thus is able to help many needy residents.
