Wow, definite 5 stars!
This place exemplifies what an authentic, small family business should be.
–Coffee and pastries were incredible. My caramel macchiato was so much better than Starbucks. It was buttery and sweet. Really tasty.
–They offer a LOT of other options from paninis to ice cream.
–The customer service is really what drove me to write this review. What kind people they have running this place. A man, who I’m assuming was the owner, gave our little girl a toy bunny they had for sale and she was on Cloud 9 with it the entire visit. Big commercial coffee places don’t do stuff like that. That kind gesture was so very appreciated.
–Has the rustic, cabin feel that you would want from a coffee shop in the mountains!
We’ll definitely be back. :-)

We came here for something quick to eat and drink in the morning before our hike but ended up being here for about 40 minutes because they made our drink incorrectly (ordered a pumpkin spice latte and they gave us a plain latte and tried to tell us they didn’t – there is a distinct taste difference) and completely forgot about our breakfast croissant sitting on the counter. They apologized for the delay and claimed they just finished making it. I would’ve found that more believable if three parties that ordered after us didn’t get their food before us, but that was the case. And the sandwich was cold.
They gave us a free pastry on our way out as an apology for the breakfast sandwich and drink mishap so I appreciated that, but there was already a sour taste in my mouth from the experience.

Stopped by for coffee after visiting the Big Bear Zoo (which i recommend)!! The place is really cute they have sandwiches, soups, gelato and of course coffee. The coffee was great, I ordered a large iced caramel macchiato. The only reason why I am giving this place a four star is because of the sort of rude and unenthusiastic workers. We asked for ice-​cream and the cashier said you mean gelato, in a rude tone. I also asked for light ice and got a coffee full of ice after the barista forgot about my drink. We had to remind her about my drink after my party had already got their drinks and she just walked away without acknowledging us and made my coffee as if she was annoyed. But whatever maybe she was just having a bad day.

This place was awesome. Great food, family friendly, two old dudes rocking Ryan Adams covers in the corner. I wish I made it to Big Bear more often, because this place would be a regular spot. Prices are a bit high, but I would like to think they take good care of their friendly staff/​it is not cheap to get outstanding gelato and panini materials up the mountain.

I’m a part timer and had heard great things about this place. I took my mom and son to get dinner and gelato. We ordered two sandwiches, two side salads, and three gelatos. $ 56.00 later (including a 15% tip) we had placed our order. To me this is pretty steep. I know things up the hill are always a little more pricy but I wasn’t expecting that!
Now, for that price the food better be really good and IT WAS! The sandwiches were incredible. Chicken was seasoned just right. The salads were a good size and the gelato was outstanding. Also, the lady working the counter was very nice and we had a great time chatting with her. I also wanted to mention that my four year old son had a cold and a pretty bad cough. There was a young girl hanging out there who I assume was related to an employee who kindly brought him a cup of water. Really nice people here. We will be back for sure just not every time because I can’t afford to take the whole family often.

I love this place! We’ve only been a few times since getting a cabin up in Big Bear this year, but it has yet to disappoint! Cute place, great drinks.

I rarely post reviews, the place has to either have great or horrible service to cause me to write a review. And I have to say this is a great little café shop. The barista, Aaron was a chill dude and made the best chai tea latte I’ve tasted, and I’ve had quite a few from notorious coffee shops throughout downtown LA (where I’m from). Not to mention their breakfast sandwiches are amazing. Would definitely recommend and will be back on my next visit.

We randomly drove here to get some coffee before continuing our trip. Omg by far the best coffee I’ve had! I had the iced caramel macchiato, my family had a blended latte, white chocolate mocha, cheesecake, tiramisu gelato, and chicken bacon ranch wrap. Everything was delicious! Everything tasted so fresh, we had great service they helped us out a lot.

This place is phenomenal. I was served by a rather pleasant and fun waiter! Her name was Germany, as soon as me and my brother walked in to the cabin themed café, we knew instantly that this was our new hangout. Germany struck up great conversation and made us laugh our whole stay! Not to mention she is rather cute, I would love to take her on a date. In fact the entire faculty here is super attractive. Including the girl who works in the back.
Ill be returning shortly for sure.
Oh also the food and coffee is good.

If you want hot apple cider DO NOT GET IT HERE!
I’m a Big Bear local. I met up with some friends the other day at MCC.
I heard they serve other types of hot drinks as well. I decided to try the hot apple cider since it was a winter special.
Their version of it was a cup of hot water with a very faint hint of mulling spices. There was no apple taste what so ever.
Maybe it was an off day for them making the hot apple cider. Who knows.
Either way I was quite disappointed.

I want this place to work that is why I gave it 4 stars. My wife and I come to Big Bear often and would love to have a place to grab a coffee in Moonridge.
First of all the man taking the orders on the register had real troubles entering the order into the computer. Breakfast Sandwich, Americano and a Mocha no whip. I think I repeated my order 4 times. The breakfast sandwich came out first and it was good. I finished my sandwhich before the coffees were ready. Both drinks tasted great.
Give them a chance I am sure they will get dialed in.

i like the hot apple cider here but the hot chocolate is my absolute favorite
not to mention, the prices are super reasonable (borderline a steal compared to starbucks!)
i also love the feeling you get when you walk in, it’s very homey and comforting (not to mention warm) :)

Can’t help it: I love this place. The service is a bit slow. I know. There is nothing special about food. I know. But a coffee house is more than an eating establishment. When you come in for a taco, you are hungry and you just want a taco. When you come in for a coffee, you are cold and you want warmth and tranquility. Coffee just helps you get there. And it doesn’t hurt when the coffee is good.
Oh, and I think that, out of two guys who play guitars every Sunday, one is Santa…

Eh, a little disappointed with this place to be honest. We went for breakfast on Sunday morning. Not much of a food selection, the quality was just average, the portion sizes were not big, and it was a bit overpriced. My fiancé and I got 1 of each of their breakfast sandwiches (only 2 to choose from) and I got their Toasted Smore Latte. Cost was $ 30. A little pricey for me only because of the portion sizes…
What really bothered me, however, was the friendliness of the place. I don’t know, maybe we went on an off day, but no «hello’s», «goodbye’s», or «thank you’s» (even though we tipped when you really don’t have to here), and they never asked us how our food was. If you don’t mind that kind of service, and I rarely do as long as the food is decent, then this place isn’t that bad.
I will say the place has a great ambience and a nice outdoor patio. There also wasn’t a wait at all. We originally wanted to go to Grizzly Manor but we saw the line out the door so decided to just turn around and try this place out. Next time we’ll just stick out the wait…

Walked into this coffee shop on a cold wintery day, and what a nice surprise it was. Upon walking in I was immediately greeted by Kailiann and Germanie. They immediately made me feel right at home and gave me some «local» insight on which places I should visit while here.
Now I love coffee, but it is always really difficult to find a coffee shop that can make a good cappuccino. I was handed a cappucino with just the right ammount of milk, not too frothy, but just right! Coffee is amazing and so is the customer service! This will most definitely be my go to coffee shop whenever I’m in Big Bear!

Was just leaving from a great girls weekend.
We stopped for some food and a drink. The service was amazing. We own a business our selfs and was so impressed with the girls working there. Great job!!!

So we are in Big Bear. Which, of course, requires coffee. We Unilocal in hopes of finding a genuinely good coffee house. Moonridge Coffee is highly rated on Unilocal so we give it a shot (pun intended). I order a single shot of espresso (this is our new ‘taste-​test’ to see if they know what they are doing). It’s pretty good, so the three of us order our drinks. Very nice coffee.
They serve Sisters Coffee (which is a roastery based in Portland) and we have found Sisters knows how to roast a bean.
Once I got past my single shot, I ordered a 12 ounce two-​shot hot Americano — it was sweet, had a very nice chocolaty flavor and was quite enjoyable.
My daughter had an iced Egg Nog Latte which she praised.
And wifey had a regular hot latte.
All of us were pleased with our drinks (which is unusual, trust me on that!).
The service was classy, personal and friendly. She explained the history of the shop, and knew how to talk «coffee».
Go there. You’ll be glad you did.

What a great way to start the day. Amazing atmosphere, delicious breakfast croissant, and piping hot coffee.
Spending my 25^th anniversary I’m Big Bear and I love finding the unique local places to eat and this a must stop on any visit to the lake!

Great breakfast sandwich, great service, the cold brew is delicious. Patio on the back has tons of room. Great morning spot. The people work there are very friendly will definitely come back!
