Had a really good selection of craft brews. My only gripe i had was the price! Other than that, they’re always getting in new product and are very knowledgeable about their beer

I drive by this place all the time but I had never considered stopping until a friend brought me to their Thursday night beer tasting. Every Thursday they do a FREE beer tasting! Pours were very generous and tasted about 10 beers for FREE! Unfortunately, it was IPA night and I am not an IPA girl. Be warned store is small and though they have a good selection of craft beers they did not have the beer I wanted. I still wanted leinenkugels summer shandy but they mainly had fall beers already. Not a bad a thing just sad that I had to go to Kappy’s for it. I did pick up some Cisco brewers pumpkle drumkin which I am excited to try once it gets to fall temperatures. Also they have a super cute and friendly bull dog to great you and help on selection of beer or wine. Actually surprisingly I didn’t spend much time looking at the wine options, oh well next time.

Pretty good shop. If you are looking for some different beers, this is the place to go for sure. Vino is a little limited, but there’s only so much they can fit in a small store like this!

Alexander’s, or Bogie’s as it is affectionately known by the locals, is the best craft beer store in Beverly, MA. They frequently stock rare items from local breweries, but the best stuff goes fast, especially with the cult following this humble establishment maintains.
Most Thursdays they have free tastings with new selections. The staff is friendly and personable, and you cant visit without a warm welcome form the mascot-​namesake Bogie himself. Great spot!

Just bought two bottles of wine here and unfortunately the corks on both were dried out, black, and neither wine was drinkable. The worse part was that I called and they didn’t seem to care! Too bad because I really wanted to like it!

My hubby and I LOVE this place, Dave, and his dog, Bogie. They have an awesome selection of microbrews and Dave is super friendly and willing to share his excellent knowledge of the wines and beers he sells. It’s certainly not the cheapest place to go for beer and wine but you can always count on a recommendation for a wine or beer to go with dinner and it’s just such a cool little place.

Can’t really say much more than has already been said.
By far, my favorite place to buy, discover, learn and enjoy all things craft beer. The Thirsty Thursdays beer tastings are a blast and have taught me a ton from comparing/​contrasting varying styles types and makes. As much as this is a fine small business with a carefully selected inventory of fine craft beers and wine, Dave has created a community for craft beer nuts far and wide, and I fear our best kept little secret may not remain so secret for long. You go, Dave!

As the other review stated, the sign says «Alexandar’s» still, if I am correct.
I have been coming here every Thursday (or try to) for their great tastings and awesome selection of craft beer — and have been for close to a year.
Their small staff is nice and they pack a lot into their small store. The owner, Dave, is a very friendly and generous person who puts on weekly tastings for free.
They carry many the best craft beers I’ve ever had, no doubt.
Lastly, I have to add that Bogie’s is great to get your beer at because the owner cares about his products, not just their sale; and he probably has the best dog ever… Bogie.

Alexanders is a great store for beer and wine. Dave — the owner — can often be found there smiling and happy to help with any questions you have whether it be finding a good Australian wine or a fine craft beer.
Every Thursday night Dave hosts a free craft beer tasting where multiple beers are sampled every week along with the new arrivals for that week. This happily lets people who want to — try new styles of beer without buying a 6 pack and disliking it and having wasted the money.
For both beer and wine there is an unmatched selection in the best atmosphere I’ve ever had the pleasure of walking into. As others have said you can go to your local packy or conveinence store and had some detached clerk who doesn’t care and choose from various Budweiser and big name beers that are all tasteless — or saunter to Alexanders where the lovable bulldog Bogie will greet you at the door and the variety awaits.

Alexanders, better known as Bogie’s, could quite possibly be one of my favorite places. At first glance, one might pass by this seemingly plain purveyor of beer and wine. But anyone that has stepped inside knows that it is anything but plain. It’s not a huge store but the amount of craft beer and specialty wines available outnumbers any other store in the area. Owner Dave Liddle is always on hand to answer any questions or suggest a beverage that suit your needs. If you are looking for something in particular he might even be able to work his magic to get it for you. For a special treat, stop by on Thursday for a craft beer tasting or on Saturday for the wine tasting; both of which are highly education and a downright good time.
If you are in the North Shore, make sure to stop by Bogie’s (Alexanders) and say hi to the resident pooch– Bogie himself!

The love for Bogie’s on here is nothing surprising. If you’re going to buy beer or wine, you can either go to some soulless convenience store and choose from their fine selection of InBev products, or you can go to a store with soul and buy beers from all over America and the World.
The owner/​operator is a nice guy who seems to like you more if you come in and ask questions. Everyone who works there seems happy to help. Bogie’s is a great place to learn or try something new.
Of course, the main attraction is Bogie, who is probably the sweetest and cutest dog in the world. My wife drinks neither wine nor beer but she comes into Alexander’s with me just to visit her bulldog friend.
The only thing I don’t love about Alexander’s is the craft beer-​tasting night. Now, I’m sure this weekly event is fun for everyone involved, but the tasting is held right in front of the doors that hold the fun beers. You have to either plow through the 10 – 12 people who are drinking, or do what I do and stop at the Spaten. Despite this minor inconvenience, I give Bogie’s 5-​stars without any reservation. If Alexander’s didn’t have a crowd of locals drinking beers on Thursday nights it wouldn’t be Alexander’s and that would be a shame.

Seriously, this is truly as good as it gets for your local beer shop. I am a huge beer snob and please note: I do not use the ‘S’ word lightly. This place always has different beers I have never heard of and I live for trying new micro-​brews. They feature handcraft brews from CA, NH, VT, DE, CO, PA, ME, NY, MA, and MI of all states, among others. If you don’t see a beer you want to drink, just say something to the owner and in a few weeks it’ll appear on their shelves.
I have been here more times than I can count and lately it’s been a once a week stop where I spend about $ 30 for different beers. They seem to have a good selection of wine as well and they have a good selection of port, champagne, and imported beer.
The owner is always present with his bulldog and the help is pretty cool. If you live in Beverly or just passing through, but need a place to get some good wine or beer, then just go here. By far the best beer store in Beverly and the finest I have ever been to. Alexander is my beer guy (I really do give him that moniker) and trust me, that IS saying a lot.

Since moving out of Beverly I don’t pass through here as much as I used to. However, this has always been one of the best non-Kappy’s places to get brews in the area. While most places will carry, say, your basic varieties of a Rogue or Stone brew, this place will carry almost their entire collection. They routinely have a ‘Well shit, I’ve never had this’ beer on their shelf. Which isn’t that hard for most people, but for me that’s pretty effing impossible.
Friendly service, reasonable prices, and they also have a small offering of decent cigars, too. That’s always a plus.
Basically, this is what Henry’s new beer and wine store should have been, but isn’t at all.

«Bogies» has broadened my horizons when I comes to the past time of beer drinking. With the guidance of an English bulldog wise beyond his years and his always helpful owner Dave, I have enjoyed many delicious varieties of ales, stouts, and porters. With the wide selection of craft beers and terrific service why go anywhere else!

Alexander’s has the best selection of beer on the North Shore. Their wine selections are great too. Dave, the owner, and his staff are always friendly and helpful. And how can you not love Bogie the bulldog who is ready to greet you at the front door?
I highly suggest you stop by on Thursday’s for their craft beer tastings. They have some great wine tasting events as well. Their prices are very reasonable and they’re always willing to listen to what the customers are looking for… if they don’t have it, they’ll get it!
