Business Owner

«Sea and sailing has always been my passion.» says Joan Plana, co-​founder and CEO of World Yacht Group. He has always been involved in sailing and yachting since childhood, being influenced by his family. He graduated as a Naval Engineer in the Naval University of Barcelona and also acquired the international MCA master yacht license. Mr. Plana spent over 6 years sailing as a professional master captain on several luxury yachts. Captivated by the business side of yachting he shifted his career and spent over 3 years as a yacht business manager of several vessels, running all financial & operational logistics for the fleet of yachts. After gaining the experience in these three sectors (Naval engineering, captain, yacht business management), Mr. Joan Plana co-​founded the global yachting company World Yacht Group.
