If you care about an amazing haircut and you’re looking for a stylist that is friendly, meticulous and extremely talented, you’ve got to ask for RICHARD. He’ll listen to you, help you achieve the look you want and also suggest a cut and style that best fit your face. He’s incredible with men and women’s hair and what keeps me coming back to Richard, is his attention to detail. A girlfriend turned me to him a couple years ago. She has amazing, beautiful-​looking hair and her cut was always so beautiful, that I had to give him a try. I was letting my hair grow, and being a guy, the last thing you want to do is go to someone who’ll buzz your head and sends you on your way. Richard was the game changer for me and I’ll follow him wherever he goes. It’s hard to find an outstanding stylist in LA, and Richard is one of those rare finds.

I’ve gotten my hair done by Audrey two times now and am so happy with her! The cut and color are exactly what I have been dreaming of. I’ve never gotten this many compliments on my hair ever. Definitely going to come back to her :).

Go to DEVON for any hair coloring service!!! If you don’t think there is a color God then you haven’t met Devon. He is hands down the best!!! Everytime I go to him my hair looks INCREDIBLE. I always get compliments on my hair and it’s all because of him! I am super picky with my hair and don’t anyone come near it. But Devon is so knowledgable and professional. He makes sure you get what you want and goes above and beyond to satisfy you. Thanks Devon for keeping my hair looking fresh all year round!

I just got the best balayage highlights from Devon! It’s exactly what I wanted. subtle and perfectly placed. He’s the real deal. I couldn’t be happier. Oh and he styled my hair awesome after! The salon is very nice and in the heart of Beverly Hills.

I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years and I will forever go with ELENA and her Talent! We all want honest opinions when it comes to looking Fabulous and that’s why I love her! She truly cares!

I absolutely love Dawn Fantau! She is fantastic and always makes me feel comfortable with what «the plan» is for my hair. I have never doubted her creative genius and have never been let down. She really understands hair and beyond that, understands what will look good on YOU. Cutting is an art for her and you will definitely walk out feeling like a masterpiece. She is incredibly honest and will tell you how she feels about what you want to do. Dawn is incredibly professional, kind, and genuinely cares about her clients. I have been going to her for years and will continue to go to her for years to come. She is fabulous and you will feel fabulous every time you see her. I would DEFINITELY recommend.

I’m from the East Coast and, when I moved to LA, it took me a really long time to find my hair stylist. When I met Dawn Fantau, I knew I’d no longer need to find an excuse to fly back to NYC for a hair cut. She’s the REAL DEAL. I trust her completely with my hair. I always leave with a haircut I adore and, if this isn’t testament enough, I said it’s the New Year… do whatever you want! I’m not close to being a brazen gal. She’s just that skilled. Ps: I’m obsessed with my new do! :) Dawn’s also a lovely person, who sincerely cares about her clients. Also, while I’m at it, I gotta say that the entire salon is amazing. Everyone’s energy is so warm and inviting, yet awesomely professional. I’ve been to other salons where the stylists have the same amount of prestige and experience and, frankly, there’s a coolness in the air that kills my soul. Yes I could talk about the salon’s incredible location, cleanliness and blah blah blah… but what’s most important to me is that, besides being really good at what they do, the people working there are super nice and have their clients’ best interest at heart. I came to California from the East cost to attend a wedding. That being said, of course we’re going to go to Beverly Hills to check it out, right? Well, while we were there, we naturally stumbled upon this place. I thought that my nails looked pretty gross at the time and should definitely get them done for the wedding.
That being said, it’s 35 for regular nail polish and 75 for gel nail polish. Holy hell is that a lot of money. But oh well, who wouldn’t want to get their nails done in Beverly Hills, right? It’s a sacred and holy place for money, indeed! Anyway, I ended up speaking with her for about 5 – 10 minutes trying to figure out what kind of look to do that goes with my dress (I showed her a picture). She truly IS an artist, though, because she has a vision. She sees things and isn’t afraid to suggest them. She is also willing to work with you. It’s very nice having someone patient working with you. It makes you feel important.
I ended up getting a very neutral color on my mails with this drizzling glitter effect to go with my dress. I must say it is very pretty. Though it’s very understated and simple, most of my satisfaction comes from Annie (I think that’s her name). She was so willing to work with me and listen to what I had to say, and she was super friendly and informative. We chatted, which never really happens with me and whoever is working with me. It was nice.
The overall service was good. People kept offering me complimentary drinks, which was unnecessary for me at the time, but still adds to a welcoming and casual environment.
Also a side note, every additional thing that goes with the nails was an extra 15 dollars. If you want one rhinestone on each nail, that’s 15 dollars times 10. You do the math. If you want multiple rhinestones on each nail, that’s obviously more money. However, if you’re like me and just want glitter, that’s 15 dollars flat (for all the nails total). I therefore ended up spending 50 dollars plus tip.
Yes, I showed up at the wedding with expensive nails. I also get to say «I got my nails done in Beverly Hills, woooohoo.» But what do you care? If you live in Beverly Hills, or are even considering going here, you’re already made of money. The luxury is all yours.
I give this place a B+/A– along with 4 stars. Happy girls night :)

This is too fun of a story to cut short.
I have my hair straightened by the incomparable Rima, see my review for the Soho Salon. Rima also does hair straightening at Salon by Maxime in Beverly Hills a few days a week.
Side note: She also does the Keratin treatment for those lucky gals that don’t have as much crazy curl as I do and just want to get rid of the frizz.
I’ve been going to Rima for over a decade. But in the last few years Rima’s hair has been looking so GORGEOUS. I fall all over her every time I see her. We both have really long hair, but her falls in this amazing way with this amazing body and curl. I call it her modern Charlie’s Angels look. She said Maxime cuts her hair and I really needed to go see him. I thought there is no way my hair could look like her hair, especially since I straighten mine and it’s pretty stick straight at the ends.
Well, I finally decided to do it. Living in HB, I practically had to take the day off for this. I was excited and anxious at the same time. When I finally made it to his chair (I should say one of his many chairs as he works on several clients at the same time) I was expecting the usual pull, snip, pull, snip where I could interject my concerns as we went along.
When Maxime started cutting I was jolted from the expectation of the predictable into this fantastical world of Edward Scissorhands. He was like a mad artist, the kind that throws paint at the canvas. There was no room for client interjection. All I could do was sit there and chant in my head «my hair will grow». When it was all over and I assessed all the hair on the floor, the chant went from lower case to upper case «MY HAIR WILL GROW!». Then the pressure was really amped up as I sat there for a while and my hair began to air dry. OH NO! Air dried hair fills me with anxiety!
The assistants finally came and I got a blow dry and then a hot curling iron. Then ‘he’ came back. And again with the mad scientist routine. I could barely keep up with what he did. Then he was done. I looked in the mirror and my eyes welled up. Who is that woman with the elegant, feminine and quite frankly gorgeous hair? It was me looking like 100% class. My hair looks just as long as before (middle of my back) but layered in a way to give body and wave that I thought was not possible since I straighten my hair.
Why didn’t I listen to Rima sooner? «GO SEE MAXIME» is my new chant. If you are money tight or really young you may want to wait until you can afford it, he is not cheap. If you are in a hurry, wait for a day that you have time. It’s not a fast experience, about 2 hours from when I walked in until when I walked out. If you want to make a positive change to your entire look and style then make that appoint with Maxime. The time and money were a small price to pay for looking and more importantly feeling like a star.

There are aren’t enough good things I can say about this Salon! From their great service, knowledgable staff, and the stellar location the list goes on and on. I’ve been fortunate to work with numerous hair stylist and make-​up artists at the salon and it’s been all my pleasure.

I have been seeing colorist Erik Felix for almost two years, and I tell you: this man can do no wrong.
Erik recently moved from his previous Beverly Hills salon to Maxime’s on Rodeo. To be honest, if he told me that he was going to begin coloring hair out of his garage, I would follow him there. Lucky me, then, that Maxime’s is a beautiful, high end salon with friendly staff and wonderful service.
I highly recommend Maxime’s — Erik for color and Louie for a good wash.

Maxime has been doing both mine and wifey’s hair since he was working for jose eber back about 16 years ago. We always been very happy not only with the hairstyle we receive, but he treats us as his friends. I’m happy that he was able to get his own salon. Way to go Max!

Angela has been giving my friend pretty fabulous cuts for a while so I finally decided to try her out last week. Of course, she then gave me a pretty fabulous cut too! In addition to the cut being complimentary to my face shape and bringing out my features, I love that my new style has a lot of fun movement & body — even on no-​maintenance days. It’s also great to work with a stylist who communicates clearly and takes a collaborative approach with her clients.
Beyond that, I found the salon to be spacious, quiet and comfortable. The staff members I encountered were accommodating and friendly. I just wish I could remember the name of the guy who gave me my shampoo because he had incredible hands. I didn’t want the scalp massage or the mini shoulder massage to end!
For all of those reasons, I’m definitely going back. Even if I have to venture into the diamond studded heart of Beverly Hills to do it.

CJ is the BEST. If you want your hair to look amazing, call and make an appointment with CJ. Men and women. Cut and color. He is an artist and will make you look perfect!

I have been going to Jade since january and have been very impressed! she makes me feel very comfortable and always gets me magazines, drinks, and listens to my questions. she does a honey blonde color very nice. a little difficult to get my hair a more platinum blonde, but in the end i like her color more than my original idea. and the keratin treatment is expensive but really is amazing! i used to have sooo much frizz and had to straighten and style often to look decent. now i can finger dry or blowdry without product and it looks amazing with no frizz!!! if it was cheaper i would be even happier. but u pay for quality and jade is sooo sweet!

I posted a similar review for Jade at her previous salon but I want to make sure the everyone knows what a «GEM» this woman is…
Jade is THE BEST stylist I have ever had… period. I have been going to Jade for over 3 years now and I get a fantastic cut every single time. Not only is she super sweet and a very cool chic, but she also really loves what she does and it shows. My hair is naturally really thick and long and she does the perfect long layered cut on me. I have also had two kids over the last few years and she has done amazing things with my hair while it was thin and brittle post-​baby. She always creates the perfect combination of what I want with what is best to do with the hair I have. I have been through MANY stylists and spent years «correcting» hair cuts when I got home. Never again.

If you’re going for Robyn Cosio… don’t. Not friendly in the least — absolutely glum. After having said little, she then gets into an argument with an ‘assistant’ while standing over me. Not ok — even if I consider that maybe she was having an ‘off’ day. And her work? Meh. I could have gotten the same result, much closer to home, for less money.

I came here a few times before Mark left, and I always left happy. The prices are highly competitive for this part of town (I actually only paid $ 150 for cut and highlights, which at the time, was absolutely unheard of). The layout is very ‘posh’ and it definitely has that Beverly Hills hard edge you might be accustomed to – but it’s decidedly more low key than nearby Lukaro which I found to be preferable.
There were a few things that sort of caught my attention in a bad way, though — such as the fact that some stylists don’t seem to understand that screaming at their assistants and making a huge scene generally tends to make the rest of the salon look bad. And this wasn’t an isolated incident; a few stylists (generally female) seemed particularly irritable the few times I came here, putting on cobalt smiles for customers only to turn to their assistants with bloody murder of the 10^th degree. That was a little unnerving to me, as a customer. The receptionist also had one hell of a Beverly Hills attitude, but hey, maybe that’s what people come here for? ;)
One thing I’ve never forgotten about Maxime, though, is the LIGHTING! I don’t recall what kind of lighting they’re using at their stations but I’d love to put it in every room of my house, because it’s the most flattering kind of light I’ve ever encountered. Everyone in the mirror looked 5 years younger and flawless. SOMEBODY tell me what kind of lights those are, LoL!

I recently received an unfortunate helmet-​head haircut. Extremely unfortunate. Roundish face + helmet hair = very sad face in the mirror each and every morning.
A friend suggest I visit Maxime to undo my bad hairdo and she was absolutely right. I have the most fabulous hair ever and could not be happier.
The moment I sat in the chair he said ‘You have great hair and too much of it. We will fix.” He had an array of scissors, razors, blow dryers — he cut my hair wet, half dry, and completely dry — tossing my hair in the air like he was making a Caesar salad. It was strange but totally worth watching as no one has ever cut my hair like that before.
Honestly I did have reservations before heading over as the friend who recommended him told me Maxime does Candy Spelling’s hair — which made me think, hmmm. NO thank you. However, she (recommending friend) has big hair like mine and yet hers always looks wonderful so it wasn’t hard to convince me that my skepticism was unfounded.
I recommend Maxime highly and based on what I saw of the the work other stylists were doing — you probably wouldn’t be unhappy with anyone working at his salon.
