Established in 2013.

A second — generation piano instructor with over 10 years of teaching experience, Diba Mostadim launched The Royal Music Academy to share her highly customized and passionate approach to teaching with students across Los Angeles. By recruiting and training the highest caliber piano, voice, guitar, violin and drum teachers, Diba ensures each student’s talent and musical curiosity is nurtured. Each student is welcome into The Royal Music Academy community, where parents, students, and teachers collaborate to transform music lessons into a life-​long passion for the arts.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Diba Mesriani a pianist, performer, and instructor, discovered her passion for music at the age of 4. She has studied with well-​respected pedagogues throughout her life and has had years of intensive training in Piano Pedagogy. Diba has played piano competitively for many years and has been awarded 1st pale in CAPMT Bartok and Contemporary competition, WLA Branch Bach Fesival, CAPMT Santa Monica Competition. Diba launched The Royal Music Academy to share her passion and tailored approach to music education with students. Diba ensures each student’s talent and musical curiosity is nurtured by well trained music instructors in piano, voice, guitar, violin, and percussion instruments. Diba also enjoys doing community service, exercising, and going to soul cycle.

After taking piano lessons with Diba and voice lesson with Samantha, I can only rave about the Royal Music Academy and it’s amazing teachers. I have come such a long way in a short time thanks to their patience in helping me learn to read notes. I am forever grateful to this company for being so flexible around my crazy schedule and constantly working to satisfy their students!

Where do I begin? Taking piano lessons with The Royal Music Academy has been without a doubt amazing. Diba is the best piano teacher and my daughter could not be happier. She is always excited for piano lessons as Diba makes learning the piano exciting. educational, and brings something new to each lesson! Diba is not only sweet, but intelligent, patient, and competent in piano education.
My daughter has made so much progress and it’s beyond exciting to see how quickly she is developing an ear for music.
Diba teaches sight reading, technique, theory, and a variety of different styles of music. I truly love her approach to teaching!
The Royal Music Academy also has an annual recital coming up within the next few months that I can’t wait for my daughter to perform in. She is encouraged to practice more than ever now.
I am very happy taking piano lessons from The Royal Music Academy and I am so thankful that they come to my home. I hope to continue with them for as long as they will have us :). I recommend them to any parents seeking a music instructor!

During my sophmore year in high school, I got a guitar as a birthday gift and decided to begin taking lessons, but unfortunately dropped out after 6 months of lessons. 10 years later, I decided to pick up guitar lessons again.
I decided to try lessons again because I wanted to have a relaxing post-​work activity that wasn’t watching TV all night — plus I hadn’t been very successful at trying to teach it to myself for the past decade.
I found The Royal Music Academy on Unilocal and decided to take guitar lessons with them. They are exactly the kind of studio I was looking for… fun and relaxing, but they still push you enough to make it rewarding as well. The lessons are tailored to what I want to learn, which is very important to me as an adult, because I want to love the songs I play.
My instructor is an expert in many different styles and can teach me any song I want to learn. I decided to branch out and focus on classical, and he helps me get through the book (The Christopher Parkening Guitar Method), while also teaching music theory, sight reading, ear training and memorization skills.
But on weeks when I know I’ll be too busy to practice, we just go through a super simple Beatles song and have fun listening to the song, playing it and singing.
It has been such a joy to learn new things and feel a sense of accomplishment through guitar lessons and I would absolutely recommend The Royal Music Academy to anyone who wanted to learn how to play the guitar.

Diba, first of all let me start by saying thank you. You are an incredible young woman who has built such an amazing music school for kids and adults. After looking around for piano lessons for a very long time, I came across the The Royal School Academy. I felt an instant connection with Diba (the owner) and felt like I could trust her with my son’s piano education. She explained to me all the different packages they offer and what to expect with the learning experience. The first time Diba came over, my son couldn’t leave her side. He was so hooked to his piano (something I have never seen before) as if she produces some kind of an energy that makes kids want to learn and play. He absolutely loved his first lesson and was looking forward for the next one. Believe or not, its been 3 years since then and my son’s ability to play the piano is like day and night difference. I recommended this Academy to all my friends and relatives and I highly recommend it to you as well. Everyone in this company is so professional and talented; I just cant wait for my second boy to start taking some lessons. Wow, talk about efficiency and professionalism. It is always such a pleasure and comfort dealing with this organizations. The principal is such a lovely comforting patient understanding and knowledgable instructor and operator. Her staff is wonderful. They are very prompt. I have been taking both my kids to the royal academy for about 1.5 years now and they absolutely love it. The rates are competitive, their approach is educational and effective. I have been taking lessons with The Roya Music Academy for several months now and I am compelled to rave about Diba! I came to Diba as a beginner and thought it would be impossible to learn to play the piano as an adult, but I have learned so much! After the first few lessons, I was able to play All of Me, by John Legend.
Her lessons are very thorough as she teaches me technique, note reading, ear training, and a mixture of classical and pop music. She keeps lessons fun, engaging, and personalized.
I choose a new song every few weeks, and Diba adapts it to my level even if its too difficult for me. She has also introduced improvisation to my piano education, which is one of the most amazing things I have ever done.
Diba is extremely patient and has brought a new light into my life by teaching me how to play the piano as an adult. I look forward to learning new songs and highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn how to play the piano. Huge plus– she comes to my house! I am so excited to learn more with her.

Hands down– The Royal Music Academy is the best in town!
I used to play the guitar when I was in high school, but completely stopped taking lessons after I graduated due to lack of time for practicing throughout college. After 8 years of not playing the guitar, I decided that I wanted guitar lessons again and had several trial lessons with several music companies in the Beverly Hills area.
When I say they’re the best, I’m coming from some experience. They’re really helpful and nice. Also, with scheduling and billing online, it’s much more convenient than most.
I have been taking guitar lessons with them for about six months and have improved significantly in what I would consider a short period! I have a great professional instructor that actually caters to my needs and actually cares about my progress. He even goes so far as to find sheet music of songs I like that are simplified so that I can actually play them. He pretty much teaches all different genres of music as well from pop to classical.
It has been a true joy to pick up the guitar again and I am grateful for coming across The Royal Music Academy. I absolutely recommend them to anyone who wants to learn how to play an instrument!

I started taking Arabic drum classes (aka doumbek, darbuka, toumbak) earliest this year. Maybe 6 months now. It’s been once a week and my instructor Danny comes to my house. In the whole time I’ve missed maybe 4 sessions! I’m addicted to the drum and in large part, thanks to Danny. I think of him as a friend and someone who I will maintain a relationship with for the rest of my life. His teaching style is amazing. He goes at the pace that is best for YOU, not for him. He knows when it’s time to push you and when it’s time to slow things down and let new lessons and techniques sink in. Starting an instrument as an adult is very scary and challenging and it is the best thing I could do. The academy does a great job running the back end of things so you can focus on your music!

My mom has been wanting to take violin lessons for years now, & she is the hardest person to pick a gift for. So when a friend told me about what a great experience his little cousin had been having with private lessons with a teacher from here right before my mom’s birthday, I wondered if they also taught adults.
I spoke to the owner, Diba, about my mom & her specific mix of circumstances. She’s an older violin newb who doesn’t even have an instrument to play, but who has wanted to take lessons for some time. She would likely need a patient teacher, & because my brother & niece went to Juilliard, my mom would have high expectations.
Diba was so compassionate, assuring me that they do indeed have adult students, and answering all of my questions about in-​home lessons, gift certificates, the best teacher match for my mom & even the option for her to use one of the company’s instruments for a first lesson. She also emphasized the level of education and training that all of her teachers have.
After we hung up, I figured I should do my due diligence & call a few other places too.
After talking to others, I couldn’t help but be drawn to coming back here. Other places don’t have in-​home lessons, or the person I spoke to didn’t seem to be able to differentiate one teacher’s training or personality from another, and nobody even came close to the level of professionalism that I felt.
Diba’s warm vibe, her knowledge of all the teachers’ personalities & training, & her overall attention to detail, made me feel like this would be the best choice for my mom. So I got her a gift certificate for a lesson for her birthday.
It took a while for my mom to be ready to schedule, but once she did, it was easy for her to book. True to her word, Diba sent a teacher to my parents’ house with a violin for my mom to use during the lesson. After the lesson, my mom went on about how well trained & patient her teacher was, how easy it was for her to have the lesson in her home, & how much fun she had.
She had such a good experience, that she’s talking about buying a violin of her own, & taking more lessons! Diba has series packages, so now I thankfully have ideas for future gifts for my mom too.

My 7 year old daughter and has now been taking guitar lessons for 8 months and her progress has been remarkable. The process of selecting an instructor was very simple and it turned out to be the perfect fit right from the start. My daughter did not show this much enthusiasm for the instrument with her prior instructor and is now more engaged than ever. She practices almost everyday without me having to ask or remind her. Overall I truly enjoy the simplicity of the scheduling process and how amazing our instructor is! In addition, I like that our instructor comes to our home rather than me having to drive to a studio!
