Located in the heart of Beverly Hills’ Golden Triangle, The Lab Salon is an exclusive leading full service hair salon. Each luxurious treatment is customized and tailored to fit the client’s specific needs.

All stylists are highly trained and work together as a team. They color, cut, create, and know how to work with chemicals for optimum color and straightening. Further, The Lab stylists consult with each other to combat hair weaknesses and prescribe hair products tailored to keep each client’s hair healthy and looking great.

The Lab is much more than a hair salon. It is a modern haven, infusing the key ingredients of hair, science, and creation with the latest technology.

Danny M.

Business Owner

At the age of 10 not many can say they had their future career in mind. However, Danny M had it in his blood to be one of the best hairdressers around. His father Bernard owned a hair salon in Michigan, a salon that originated many years ago in Liberia, Africa. After his father’s early passing, the youngest of three, Danny decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a hairdresser. Continuing the legacy his father left behind Danny M has created his own legacy as one of the best hairdressers in Beverly Hills. Danny M started his journey in Beverly Hills at Giuseppe Franco salon as an assistant. A short time later, once the staff and clients realized he had the «IT factor,» Danny M became a fulltime hairdresser at the salon. His popularity sky rocketed due to his hip and trendy cuts, styles and amazing color. Under the watchful eyes of Giuseppe and his father Bernard, Danny grew and prospered in his craft.

The Lab Salon is no longer in business. Jade Gazarian has relocated from the Salon by MAXIME to the Beverly Hills Color Bar. I really like this small boutique salon on the quiet side of Beverly Hills off little Santa Monica Bl. It’s a completely different feeling from my last salon which is on Rodeo Drive and quite large.
Please come see me I do not specialize in just one aspect of hair like many salons are staffed with just colorists or stylists. I do all of the coloring techniques and haircuts people are looking for. I’m certified in the Keratin Complex Straightening System for the last 7 years. I stand by this product it’s the best one out there and it doesn’t damage your hair after repeated use. Your hair actually gets better if you do it three to four times a year and it’s especially great for women with long hair that’s had more wear and tear over the years. Just think the hair that reaches the middle of your back is approximately three years old! This keratin fills the cuticle of your hair rebuilding the lost protein in it from coloring etc…
I enjoy educating my clients with hair care tips and I always take time in our consultations it’s essential to ask if your client wants to change anything some people are afraid of change so communication is key.

I visited the Lab Salon today. While my color was applied, the hairstylist took another customer, then kept promising to get back to me to continue applying my highlights. 3 hours later, I left. The highlights were never applied and I was extremely disappointed. It was New Years Eve. Not a very pleasant feeling! Oh… And yes, I was a «Bloomspot» voucher holder… I guess that makes it ok!?! Shame on them!!!

This review is for MR. RANDALL and MELINDA!
After a long and sometimes ugly search, I’ve finally found my Los Angeles colorist, stylist, and (fingers crossed) my new extensions-​pro!
I found Mr. Randall and The Lab Salon through Lifebooker, and decided that the drive from Los Feliz to Beverly Hills was worth it for his INCREDIBLE price for a partial highlights/​blowout appointment. The salon is located in an absolutely gorgeous area of Beverly Hills!
In any case, I sat down in Mr. Randall’s chair, looked in the mirror, and could barely stand the sight of my rooty, dry, messy head of hair. When I got up exactly two hours later, my hair looked fantastic — perfectly colored and styled! In the meantime, I’d shared a lot of laughs with Mr. Randall and Melinda, who helped him out with washing, blowing out, and styling my hair. I also found out that Melinda had just completed a professional course for extensions, and we arranged an appointment for my long-​overdue removal and re-​install while I was there!
It’s lovely to meet such fun, open-​minded, friendly people while getting your hair done. The down-​to-​earth yet professional atmosphere at The Lab is exceptionally rare in LA — and I’ll be back!

Ness is fantastic! I went to Lab Salon absolutely hating my hair after another colorist had promised a beautiful golden brown and instead left dull shades of red that made my hair look sad and dry. Connie the assistant manager was lovely and set me up with Ness who proceeded to breathe new life into my hair with a rich color and a fabulous cut. She really listened to what I wanted and gave great suggestions. I went there holding my breath and hoping for a good experience since I had never been there before, and it really surpassed my expectations. Highly recommend.

YANIRA at lab salon is the best stylist, colorist, Brazilian, blow outs everything. I haven’t met a client that doesn’t love her work. I don’t even live in the area but I go back to see her everytime I’m in town and I only see her. She’s drop dead gorgeous and very talented. There’s nothing she does that’s short of perfection and I am very picky. look no further. She is the best! I highly recommend this salon if you are looking for a stylish and trendy look! Danny M is the best cut/​color stylist I know — I have been going to him for years and he cuts my husbands hair even better than mine!!! All the other stylists seem to be trendy with their own hair and fashion — they are up to date with the newest and hottest trends in color and style. I moved 50 miles away and still make the time to come here for my hair.
I feel like a celebrity with bouncy beautiful hair walking the streets of Rodeo Dr. every time I leave this place!

If you want to feel like new woman go see Lisa Patino!
My hair is long and curly and I’ve never had it colored. I usually wear it natural and pulled back because I don’t like it in my face and when I have worn it straight I don’t want to be bothered with styling it. I don’t get my hair cut often because I find that most stylists don’t know what «keep the length» means. But Lisa really listened to me and kept my hair long with layers and framed it out of my face. I have really dark brown hair and I wanted a subtle color change. She suggested an Ombré and I love it. It looks very natural and the color complements my natural skin tone. She did a great job flat ironing my hair, its soft and silky and she didn’t pile on the product.
If you’re looking for an attentive stylist who listens, in a salon with great ambiance and friendly staff, I highly suggest Lisa at The Lab Salon.

The lady there f*ed up my bangs. She had no idea what she was doing and kept trying to reassure me «it’s your hair type! U need to flat iron your bangs.» flat iron for naturally straight hair?! I would give zero stars if I could. I’m in Beverly hills, I guess it was my fault for assuming all salons are good here. Go spend your hard-​earned money else where! And yes, it was that bad where I actually had to write a review– this is my first review I’ve ever written on Unilocal

I’ll give it 4 stars for effort!
I have a very particular hair and it’s veeeeery hard to manage and although they did the best they could and the treatment (Caviar something) was great and all the blowout was not my favorite. Then again I’ve been going to the same salon in the city I used to live for a LONG time and the one before that since I was two years old. So my 2 hairdressers that I’ve had know my hair and here they didn’t so it was great service! The owner was nice and everyone there was really friendly and I’d totally go back for the treatment but not so much for the blowout maybe in a few years they’ll be able to actually manage it since it took them like 2 hours to straighten a long bob that usually takes my ex hairdresser (I moved that’s why I changed) like about 1 hour to get it perfect when my hair was down to my waist.
So 4 stars for effort and anyone with regular hair will be more than happy: D

The Colony, TX
There are 2 reasons I drive 45 minutes through LA traffic to get to The Lab, Yanira my stylist and the great customer service at the salon.
I have been going to Yanira for years because she is the only one that can cut and style my thick/​full head of hair properly. She gets the cut and the color right every time and gives me great advice on what products to use and how to keep my hair healthy.
Eddie, the manger, is awesome too. He is extremely friendly and customer service focused. I always feel like a VIP whenever I go to The Lab. :)

I am a celebirty /​commercial photographer here in LA and I am very picky about my staff and do hire only the industry best professionals for all my photoshoots and commercial projects. Melissa Riso who happens to be one of the stylists here at the Lab salon came to my rescure on a high end fashion shoot after my regular stylist called in sick and I must say I was blown away by the professionalism, skill and amazing work ethic. Melissa has now become one of my master stylists and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing new look.
To comment on some of the negative reviews on here I believe its not just to judge a salon in a negative manner simply because one of the stylists had done something wrong. I have worked with Melissa for over a year now and I am yet to have one negative feedback so hats off to this place and its amazing staff.

I had a bad feeling about this place from the moment I walked in. I wish I’d listened to my gut and left, but I had a group coupon that I’d already paid for so I stuck around.
Although there were two stylists chatting with each other over their clients’ heads, there was no receptionist in sight, and no one even acknowledged me for almost 5 minutes. The waiting area consists of a wooden box covered in faded black towels b/​c the cushion is missing. Most of the unoccupied stations are littered with used coffee cups and water bottles, people’s bags, etc. and I was shuttled among four of these as I waited for a shampoo and then waited for my stylist to get off her cell phone.
She was very polite when she did have time for me, but our definitions of «natural» highlights do not match. I wanted my roots done to match the lovely, subtle highlights I got at Gavert Atelier 3 months ago. I’m not sure what the difference was – too much peroxide? – but what I got is classically cheesy, over-​processed 1980s streaks. She even took the first foils out while she was still doing the other side of my head, but I suspect that spraying the hair a few times with water doesn’t actually stop the bleaching process.
I get a pang every time I look in the mirror now. And since I keep my hair long, I’m going to be seeing these skunky streaks for a long time… I feel so stupid for cheaping out and going to the Lab just cuz I had a coupon instead of going back to Naomi at Gavert and paying full price.

an absolute joke here. was it me or them?
the stylist seemed to forget how to do my hair, so i had to come back another day to fix. spent alllllll day, spent another $ 1,000 and POOOF, now my hair is fried and DONE with.
i suggest you avoid this place unless you know of a stylist to be tried and true.

THEY ARE OPEN ON SUNDAY! And I think the only hair salon in the area that’s actually open a Sunday.
I was only in town for one more day and I really wanted to get a feather lock put in my hair. They were the only salon on the list of salons that do it that’s open on a Sunday. Lucky for me! I called around 11AM-​ish, and was lucky to get in at 12:15pm. I forgot what the stylist’s name was, but she was very nice. Feather locks are very popular in LA– the day that I came, she only had a few to choose from so I had to make do with what she had left. I asked for her recommendations, and I ended up picking two feathers. It only took her minutes to put into my hair. 2 feather locks costed me $ 40. I told my friends (who also have feather locks) how much I paid for mine, and they said I definitely over paid. The salons my friends went to were closed on Sunday, so I had to make do with what I had.

I have been going to Mathew Besio for 7 years now, since he was back at Giuseppe Franco down the street, and I followed him over. He does my hair along with 5 of my girlfriends and all the people they refer as well. He does amazing color, cuts, blowouts and brazilian straightening treatments. I just went on Saturday and he mentioned a client that had posted a disgusting review on Unilocal,and I had to log in and see it myself.
If she was so «offended» during her first appointment — why would she book a SECOND ONE? This is honestly laughable, as Matthew is such a nice guy — and BTW straight (not that it matters to me), but I am glad she feels it is appropriate to make assumptions about his sexual preference since he is a hairdresser… I just wanted to give you all a heads up.
A: Matthew would never say your hair is FREE but he will give occasional discounts on first time clients… price discounts.
B: Matthew doesn’t only not upsell — but he will reccommend non-​salon products that are comparable at lower prices.
C: I can’t even gratify the rest of her accusations with a response.
However, Matthew is an amazing hairdresser and a very nice guy who goes above and beyond to make sure his clients are satisfied. Not every hairdresser is a perfect personality match to every client — but that comment below is an isolated opinion — and I recommend him highly and will continue to do so for all of my friends and co-​workers.
He even mentioned that he has updated his highlighting technique to look a little more natural to help with the recession, so his clients don’t have to come in as often for touch ups. :)
He even trims my bangs for free between appointments!

I found Paradise today.
The Lab is about a block from Rodeo Drive, in the heart of Beverly Hills.
C K is the nicest guy on the planet. When he began coloring my hair he said, «Let’s get this party started.»
Diana, who assisted during the 3+ hours they worked on my hair, was delightful to talk with.
The shampoo chair is more comfy than my bed.
It wasn’t real expensive.
The clientele were colorful LA types, stylin’ to the max, as one would expect in that area.
The salon is a friendly, fun place and they even gave me good coffee.
I ended up with the absolute best color, highlights, and cut of my entire life.
C K, I salute you. I think I love you for making me look so much younger.

Today I am a very happy woman! Damn, I feel fine.

Our beloved C K has moved back to the East Coast. That’s the bad news. (Adrian is gone too, BTW…)
The good news: Sean has arrived at the Lab Salon! He recently came from Miami, where he owned salons of his own. I had my first appt. with Sean yesterday… and he is an extraordinary stylist. I expect big things will happen for Sean here in LA.
My hair has a different look now. It’s a messy cut with more dramatic contrast between base color and highlights. I absolutely love it.

And…another update re hair product:
I have been a devoted user of Kerastase, however yesterday Eddie suggested I try the Lab’s newly acquired line of Shu Uemura. I think he said they are the only salon in the area to carry it, so far. I can’t wait to see if it really does make my hair feel like silk! I’ll keep you posted…

CK moved to Beverly Hills!
This is what happens when you are successful in LA. You pack up and move to B.H. Bravo!
I really think the salon is a bit too small but they are taking over the space next door and increasing the elbow room so Artistes like CK can feel more comfortable and schmoes like me can feel more relaxed to dish with my «counselor» !!! I can’t wait for the grand re opening!
Danny, the owner is a real cool dude. I was watching him style out this chicka with massive blond curls! The guy just glides…
He has an accent that says Brooklyn even though he is from Detroit!
CK is my guy @ Lab. He moves like a ballet star… oh wait he was a ballet star… hmmmmm…well any ways I got a real education on eyelash extensions. CK is considered one of the top guys doing such procedures. One of his clients was going on and on about how she loves her new longer, fuller look.
Sorry kids I’m not sitting still that long for any kind of extension!
