I had the most amazing service from a very well versed cheese server called Brie, we walked past the Cheese Store and thought what is this smell about… being father’s day at the time my boyfriend who is a cheese fanatic and lover of all wash rind’s and our son wondered in… We were in cheese heaven… to our delight the service again as I repeatt myself in this review was 100% the best. Beverly Hills can be a bit stuffy with all clothing high end retailer brand’s…But the cheese tasting were in abundance and we bought some cheese and headed off into the sunset to eat our cheese. This is what I love about LA being Australian and still tourists living here we love these new find’s when you can venture out into day and find a space like the Cheese Store… We will be back. We stopped in this afternoon to check out The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills. Have heard a couple of things and was recommended to go as we are from Australia and are used to having more cheese stores readily available. We were greeted by a server called Bree (apt name) and she was very knowledgeable and incredibly patient. Helped us pick some perfect cheeses for this evening. Have no hesitation in telling everyone to go there and ask for Bree for great service with a smile.

Excellent service and friendly staff. Try the fondue cheese bread boule, it’s incredible and the sandwiches are delicious too.

I have been going to this shop for several years now but am now writing a review after the exceptional service I received on my last stop in.
First off, the selection of cheeses and knowledge of the staff is unsurpassed. I have also been to other cheese shops in LA, and this is one of my two go-​to cheese stores.
Specific to my last visit: I arrived a few minutes late, as I didn’t realize the store closed early on Sundays. My fault. But still, a very nice woman let me in and happily weighed out, cut and even shredded my fondue cheese for me. I didn’t even ask for it to be shredded because I was already taking her time up after hours, but she was so gracious to do it for me anyway. How about that for service? I was completely grateful for the wonderful service and excellent fondue I had for dinner. What a gem of a store!

This is the finest cheese and wine store anywhere. Amazing selection of cheeses, cured meats and wines. The staff is highly knowledgeable and friendly. Absolutely terrific experience!!!

Why did I wait so long to go here. We just assumed it was just for tourists. Having lived In LA so long we just never tried until this month. The cheese selection will blow your mind.
The staff knows everything about the items, and they can suggest a meal to build around any cheese or wine you choose. Very reasonable wine prices for this neck of the woods as well.
You don’t have to wait for your out-​of-​town guests to go try it like we did. I think we will become regulars at the Cheese Store!

Been here many times, have the reusable shopping bag given to us by them and usually buy a hefty amount of formage and other accoutrement. Today, we walked in and the only person who decides to engage us is the lady sampling her fancy olive oils and a Hispanic gentleman who didn’t speak English. (For his sake, he at least tried to flag down someone to assist us. The sales dude looked at us and proceeded to help someone else.)
There 4 of us in my little group, it wasn’t like I was a tiny person in a huge crowd, jumping up and down to get someone’s attention. Perhaps next time, I doubt there will be a next time, however, I will.
Some woman sales associate even asked me to move so she could show this other lady (who came in after my little group did) a sample of cheeses. Like yo! I have 4 cheese wedges in my hands. Plus, my mother asked you to cut us a pound of parmigiano-​reggiano, that you boasted about as if we were ingrates who had only ever had the green shaker canister from the loca grocery store.
Finally, I decided I had enough of the insulting ignoring of these wannabe cheese mongers and put the items down and we all left.
I get its Beverly Hills and everyone is trying to make a big sale… but in the words of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman: «Big mistake. Huge. I have some shopping to do.»

The smell, the service, the CHEESE. A slice of heaven. I always get great service, never rushed and you’d be hard pressed to find the quality and selection anywhere else.

Yes. I won’t lie. They have a huge selection of cheeses. Cheeses that you won’t find just anywhere which is great! But I must say that the service there is HORRIBLE!!! I help run a restaurant myself, and I must say, if my staff gave the customer serve that I received today, I would be appalled.
My boyfriend and I have been planning on coming here for a while now since we are both such huge cheese lovers and finally made our way out there today. We walk in the door and not a single person acknowledges us. We were looking around for a while and not a single «hello» or «do you need any help?» I finally asked someone about a certain cheese and all he said was it’s really strong, gave me a sample, and walked away. Didn’t even tell me the name of the cheese. Awesome. thanks for nothing buddy.
We were planning on buying a decent amount of cheese and other products, but no thank you. Went to Whole Foods instead. The ONLY reason I gave them two stars is for the selection of cheeses.
Tip for management… Hire yourself a friendly, helpful, and caring team.

I ordered by phone for New Year’s eve and received a confirmation of the order. When I picked up the order from my car and got home, they had substituted a different pasta product from what I ordered without any notification. They also provided less of each of the cheeses then I asked for which was insufficient for the dinner planned. When I called them about these mistakes there was no apology. They wanted me to take an extra hour to drive back to the store, which I refused to do. Then they wanted to charge me for the extra cheese that I originally ordered. This was extremely poor customer service and I would not recommend this store in the future, especially based on the prices charged.

Go no further, The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills has everything you might ever want. Amazing cheese, wine selection and anything else you might want to stuff your face or basket with. Dom, Norbit and friends have the best personalities and are so talented at their craft.
I come here for all my holiday and gifting needs.

They lied… The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills is the happiest place on earth! Just enter, and immediately you are greeted with the warmth of new friendship, earnest to assist you in finding the absolute premium pleasure you didn’t know if you even wanted! Cheese is just for starters, but man! Do they have kinds you can’t find anywhere else. Recently, I’ve become pretty lactose-​intolerant; but don’t mind… they have all sorts of goat and sheep cheese to make it fine not to eat cow’s milk ever again! From buffalo ricotta to hard French cheese, I’ve tasted different ones pretty much once a week for a year! Olives, cornichons, and their own line, Delmonicos, of delicious tapenades and spreads. Chocolate, olive oil… shall I go on? Or shall you just go? ;D

Came for the holiday tasting which was absolutely delicious and fun. I found a champagne I love, J Lassale Brut Rose NV. I’m not a champagne drinker, but I had to buy a bottle for the upcoming New Year because I enjoyed this one so much. Another favorite of the night was the Chablis — Cru «Fourchaume» Roland Lavantureaux 2014 which was served with white truffle risotto. Unfortunately the risotto was a bit undercooked, but the flavor was above excellent, so I was able to overlook the texture.
The beef roulade was another favorite at our table, it was tender and flavorful, paired with château les arromans Bordeaux 2012 was perfect.

Someone wrote «…The Cheese Shop is a slice of heaven…» True. However, I took three friends yesterday to their cheese & wine tasting ($ 65pp) and thought I could not believe my eyes when they startet to pour the red wine into the glasses they had served the white in before. Uncleaned.
2 glasses for seven different wines — sorry, you entirely lost your credibility here, especially since there is a Crate and Barrel across the street who would possibly even sponsor the event with glasses. 50 guests at $ 65 a head — two days every month, there should be a budget buying decent glasses to serve in. Or get Riedel or so involved.
Again: cheese store — five stars. Tastings and promo: not good enough. Too much of a sales show in a place that did not even allow us to leave through their main door after the event (we were parked exactly in front of the store, so we had a 10 min walk around the block because of their insensitivity.

Ok so let me start off by saying, you are going to get a kick in the face with the smell of all the cheese in this place. Seriously it is very, very strong. Thankfully you go nose blind after about 5 minutes though and everything sounds more appealing. My mother really wanted to come in here so stopped in for a little cheese shopping. We dealt with Tony (I believe that was his name) but the whole staff working was very attentive to all the customers that came in. They offered samples of any cheese we were interested in and made recommendations based on what we liked. They offer fresh meats as well as wine, chocolate, crackers, and toppings. It was such a pleasure doing business with these people that there is no doubt we will be back soon.

As soon as you’re offered a sample of cheese, you may as well hand your credit card over because it’s done. Before you know it, you have said yes to every sample you’ve tasted and ask for a small piece to be wrapped up to take home.
They make the major wonderful cheese and charcuterie platters that are perfect for parties or a picnic for the Hollywood Bowl.
The Cheese Shop is famous for their in house sundries tomatoes. I’ve never had anything like it. Perfect with cheese or chopped up into a pasta dish. They are addicting.

I loved their bread stuffed fondue I just got it today, baked it and it was easy and amazing.
The fig log was delicious and they are so friendly :)

This is an excellent place to hang out, try cheese, and drink wine. They do monthly cheese tastings.
It is also a great place to stock up the picnic basket for that romantic date at the Hollywood bowl, unless she’s lactose intolerant, then that would be a horrible idea.

Oh Lord Almighty, haven’t you had enough from idiosyncratic owners in Richtown? The ones whose condescending attitude seeps down through their staff? So I walk in to choose some cheese, and I can’t read a single name. There are no labels. You don’t know what you’re buying. You don’t know what’s there. So, what is da deal?
Ah, the owner wants to «force you to interact.» So I interacted, got a taste thank you oh supreme owner, found the Fromage d’Affinois on the bland, salty side, found no one to «interact» with as the guy hopped on to his next task, found it awkward to restart with another without even knowing if I want to start to consider paying for this cheese as I had no idea about its price, and promptly left after realizing this was going to take twice as long as I expected with at most half the benefit. Two stars for the d’Affinois though!
It used to be la petite bourgeoisie, or small business owners, would bend over backwards to keep your custom, else you cross the street to the next store. Well, I did take me cheese custom elsewhere, up on Cañon Drive.

Okay, so does anyone else get excited to the point of salivation over the thought of good cheese??? I swear I’ve got an inner fat boy.
With a name as original as «The Cheese Store», could any experience from this place warrant less than 5 stars??? Located a block or so from the infamous Rodeo Drive, this store is an outstanding alternative to the fu fu and mundane experience of nearby retail shopping.
Subsequently, I’m going to be mild, sweet, sharp… and short with this review —- I’m lactose intolerant and this store has without a doubt secured a position within my «Fave Five’s».
Sure there’s the whole downside (inevitable constipation and occasional bloating) but that’s just a price I’m willing to pay. Sometimes you’ve just gotta take one for the team! For the record, I love this place and in case I’ve omitted mentioning it, their wine menu is to die for.
Add a tray of olives and salamis and you’ve got yourself a homemade charcuterie platter. Let’s not skimp on the fact that you’re enabled to try samples of ANYTHING within the store and there’s no better gift than a well packaged box of aged Gouda.
Wait a sec-​… I fibbed. Gouda and Gucci!!! Now we’re talking.
Looks as if I’ve got some shopping to do.

I cannot even understand how this place can earn anything less than a 5 star review. Huge selection of cheeses, impeccable service, and the owner is there working diligently just like the other employees to spread their love and affirmation for cheese.
There are lots of spreads in the back of the room for you to sample as well as asking the employees for samples of cheeses that you are curious about. If you are a cheese lover but do not quite know the names of the cheeses, don’t be intimidated; describe the cheese to the best of your ability using your elementary vocabulary, and they will assist you. Afterall, not all of us are cheese mongers and they know that, too.
Albeit a cheese store, there is a decent wine selection to select from so pick up some cheese, a bottle of wine, and a pint of interestingly pickled dwarf peaches (find our for yourself) and that’s the ultimate way to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

If you are looking for a huge variety of cheeses, then this is the place to go. Of course, walking in, you’re like UGH! because of the smell, but don’t let that discourage you one bit.
You are offered samples, if you want to try a variety of cheeses. They also have an assortment of olives (I’m a fiend!).
We bought a gift certificate as a present and I was pleasantly surprised at the nice packaging it comes in. We didn’t purchase any cheeses (but I did get some olives) but will be returning to try a few.

Cheese you need for personal or gift giving they have it all including a fabulous wine selection, olives, mustards and on & on so worth the trip.

I’ve been shopping here for 45 years, and the store continues to amaze me. It seems that the only thing that changes is the selection of cheeses, Always the freshest of aged cheeses, How do you like that for an oxymoron? Parking, though not free, is right next door.
This is not a pretentious business and it is more likely than not that you will find yourself being waited on by the owners. The rest of the staff appeared well versed in cheese and tasks.

A rare selection of cheeses and related items with a side of knowledgable service. I stumbled in to have a look around and ended up getting $ 30 worth of cheese for a small get-​together we were having that evening.
I was actually a little taken back that the small amount of cheese I received was $ 30, but everyone loved it and so it was worth it. Excellent quality.
Oh and my two-​and-​a-​half-​year-​old son disliked the smell of the shop so much that he had to leave. That is a compliment to any fine cheese shop.

A Cheese Store! What my dreams consist of. Cheese is probably my favorite food-​I would literally eat it for every meal if I could, and for me the stinkier the cheese, the better. They have all kinds of cheeses here for every palate, from simple cheddars to truffle-​filled, goat and bleu. The people who work here are also very friendly and I’ve always gotten helped quite quickly and they always provide plentiful samples. If you feel a little overwhelmed your first time here the staff will definitely be helpful and ask what kind of cheeses you typically like and find you something amazing. They also sell some really unique jellys and honeys and such that are definitely worth a look.

It’s so nice to have a good cheese store with knowledgeable cheesemongers near me. I came in looking for a very specific cheese that another local store didn’t have. Not only were they able to provide me with that exact cheese, but they also were able to recommend some similar varieties (same animal, from the same region, aged a similar length) that I took home and loved.
There are also meats, preserves, nuts, wine, and bread & crackers to pair with your cheeses of choice. If you need any ideas on pairings, just ask! They will know exactly what to eat/​drink with your selections.
So why only 4 stars? The prices are typical of Beverly Hills — a little bit excessive.
Developing a relationship with a cheesemonger is a great idea because they’ll know your tastes and preferences and will always be able to put something together that you’ll enjoy. Unfortunately, I don’t know that I can afford to do that here. But when I’m looking for a specific cheese, I know where I’m coming.

Je suis dans la minorité, je l’avoue! Je n’ai que essayé 3 Tommes de montagne, si on ose les appeler ainsi. Elles n’avaient que le gout de sel… l’horreur! On les aurait même pas vendus dans un Carrefour Parisien! J’y avais cru, pourtant! La boutique me paraissait authentique, le mec qui nous a servi était Européen, ça sentait trop bon à l’intérieur… Ben non, au fond j’ai trouvé de meilleurs fromages chez Joan’s on Third.
Je voulais demander au propriétaire s’il avait un petit St. Marcelin à déguster, un Reblochon de Savoie ou voir un Comté bien parfumé, mais j’ai abandonné l’idée assez rapidement.
Bön, assez râlé… je reste optimiste et je tenterai sans doute une deuxième expérience d’ici peu. Le mec a été bien gentil avec nous, et il y a surement de très bon fromages à découvrir.
