History

Established in 1982.

Founded in 1982 by Yehuda Asher (Jerry) Katz, who also founded the group Reva L’Sheva in Israel, the Simcha Orchestra quickly became the premier source for Jewish music in Los Angeles. When Robby Helperin took the helm in 1993, after rising through the ranks of the orchestra for 6 years, he began immediately expanding the band’s capabilities, based on his expertise and love of all things musical and professionally running. The band has since been flown all over the world for it’s passion, energy and wide-ranging abilities.
