Richie’s Tailor Shop

I heard good things about Richie’s Tailor Shop so I stopped in to have my pants resized. After taking my measurements, he got them back to me in a day and the price was fair. He had me try them on and they fit great. I would definitely recommend this place!

I have been going to Richie to tailor my suits for years. He always does a fantastic job. He knows how to look at my body type and tailor the suit to flatter me. For example, any A line skirts he changes to a fitted tapered style because I’m petite and short– it elongates. Any overly flared suit pants he will change to straight leg for me. He’s incredible. Best tailor in LA!

Came to drop off some pants to get hemmed and it was a great experience. Richie was very nice and did a good job with the pants. I also got my shirt fixed since it was too long. I think I got a good deal on prices and service. I will definitely be back to get more clothes altered.

I went to get a long bridesmaid gown hemmed at the bottom. I put on the dress in the dressing room and came out for him (I assume Ritchie) to pin the bottom of the dress at the hem.
He reached up my gown and inappropriately stroked my inner upper thighs and brushed along my private area. I immediately asked him what he was doing to which he replied «what?»
I turned down his service immediately and left the store.
Ladies, I suggest you stay far away from this place.

Now, I’m not one to usually bash any establishment I patronize. That being said, this place deserves it. I brought in 2 suits — both of which are over $ 700. I told Richie I was looking for a fitted look with both suits. He said he knew what I was looking for and they would be ready in a few days. A few days passed and I came back to retrieve my suits. The first suit came out very nice. However, the second suit was way too tight. I realized this a few days later when I went to put it on and couldn’t move my arms or sit down without feeling like I was in a strait-​jacket. Obviously I went back to Richie with said suit and showed him my problem. He started getting angry, saying that no one has ever brought a suit back and that I should take my business elsewhere. Finally after talking to him for about 15 – 20 minutes I talked some sense into him and he agreed to fix his mistake (which he also admitted as I was leaving). I came back a few days later and the suit was still too tight. At this point, I couldn’t stand being in the guys store so I took to another tailor (Paul’s on Pico). When I showed Paul my suit, he said there was little to nothing he could do since Richie had removed most of the fabric inside the suit (meaning he couldn’t open the suit up a bit more because Richie cut the fabric out, basically rendering the $ 700 suit useless). Then he started examining the suit and there were open seams I hadn’t even noticed in the armpit of the jacket. I mean really! Open seams! That’s the equivalent of going to a surgeon and coming out with an un-​stitched open wound. Ok, so maybe that’s a bit extreme, but I can’t think of another profession where you open and close seams. Anyways, I highly recommend staying away from this place. Unless you like your clothes too tight and open seams.

Wow, really great service and really great results. Richie and his co-​tailor had a challenge when it came to my tailoring and they really met my challenge and did it with a smile, care for fit, and talent. My custom-​fitted suit looked amazing and the experience was a great one!
